Have an ID.me account that works fine for the irs and tax paying. It failed completely with SSA. SSA could not validate my ID from ID.me. What is the purpose of an ID service if it cannot ID its customers. Its help section is ai driven and says "sorry I am not trained yet on your question" I asked for help logging into SSA from a valid ID.me account.
Everything was as advertised. Wait times are a little long but in the end it is worth it to secure your information.

I was locked out of my account then when asked to give a different email address the numbers switched my email address. Then when I tried to switch it back they told me I made too many attempts to change email addresses 1 time is too much? Then I couldn't get anyone on the phone and I was able to receive the text confirmation and still told me I wasn't who I was. So yeah a little more than annoyed.
