Very finicky when doing video confirmation... didn't work for me. Forcing me to wait 20 minutes for a video call.
I thought this was very easy instructions very easy for along
Had to complete 2 ID verifications. The first went well online. The second had to be done with a face to face call. The timer showed 55 minutes which kept changing to less then more time.
8 hours later the face time call lasting 6 minutes was complete.
What a horror!
Pretains mostly to the Video Selfie and access requirements. Even though device is modern and the settings are correct, refuses to complete video selfie portions. Redundant unnecessary function as biometrics and codes and emails already used.

You also have access to it all the time, you don't need to carry any paper work with you, because through your phone, you can have asses to it all the time.
My experience was NOT a good one. I was accused of creating the problem. I was not able to fix the problem. I absolutely despise HACKERS! I feel as though I was the perpetrator and not the victim. When in reality I was the victim and I have no faith that my problem will be fixed!
After failing miserably trying to register on login.gov, a Google search told me how much easier ID.me is β and it was the truth. The procedure was straightforward, clear, and quick.
The process is much too intrusive. I am genuinely worried that the information gathered will be used for other purposes. I am not confident in the DOGE process that led to the use of ID.me. This is an enormous data-gathering project by the government. How will this information be used in the future? I also do not think most seniors can easily follow the process.
I'm require by a government agency, the IRS (there are others), to give this privately held, venture-backed company my biometrics and personal information. Did anyone vote for this? Has anyone heard of them before? Any company, any data, can be hacked. All it takes is one careless person, one mistake, yet this company has millions of Americans information. What ensure this company don't or won't have bad actors among their mist?

I was able to sign up but i had to have my son help upload my license and take my selfie. Don't hesitate to ask for help. It can be very stressful and frustrating if you aren't very computer friendly. Good luck!

The video verification process was very easy to navigate. I like that before they give you access to anything you have to provide a code set to your phone number.
It is very difficult to understand having to prove my identification after having served over thirty years of military service. After several days of trying to set up an account due to technical difficulties, we finally had a good experience today with the video call... but when you are 90 years old this process is very frustrating. In the long run, things worked out so be determined and patient and have plenty of available time
While I recognize the value of this kind of authentication, the process was problematic. Once there, you do have a worthwhile tool.
It took over a hour to complete the form. You need your drivers license and banking information ready before you start. Also you need focus on the paperwork and can not be bothered by anything while filling out application.
My overall experience was very informational and overall a very good experience. I am highly satisfied, and as I said earlier, will be sharing this with friends and family.
