Beware Hopper. Their pricing is very deceptive. They advertise one price to make a hotel booking "Fully Refundable" by Hopper, but that price is actually charged PER NIGHT, and also that portion is non-refundable which is never made clear to the customer. Then they make you pay "VIP" if u want decent customer service. Used to like the app but much easier to book though the hotel website now and less risk of being scammed. Stay away.

I tried to book a flight that is urgent. I have tried to contact the 24/7 customer service and I don't have an Id number and it isn't where the app says on my mobile app. I am obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I will have to make reservations elsewhere because their customer service is not 24/7 and they won't help via email to support or call me or even give me a live person to chat with. Went to pick up rental car in Florida after a flight. Arrived with very little instructions just "shuttle"? So start asking around ya you probably should of gone with a main car rental company. Finally call Hopper to find out the car rental company closed at 6 & was told we were SHOL! Not exactly the same words. Spend the extra$$
I wish I read the reviews before using this app.
I paid for VIP and Change For Any Reason add-ons.
I bought Premium tickets. I did all this so a long potentially gruelling overseas connecting flight would be as manageable as possible.
The service agent was friendly when I wanted to change my return to two days later (this was before the start of the whole trip)
I had to wait on hold 25 minutes for a human to pick up. (VIP-not)
After verifications and explaining what I wanted which took another 10 minutes, the agent informed me that he had no authority to change it and would have to transfer me to a department for which there was no direct number. That would be at least another 20 -30 wait (but I don't know because I haven't reached them yet)
Tried the online help chatbot too which wrote "An agent will be with you shortly) and 45 minutes later the chat bot agent never typed another word.
Everything you should know about why not to use this app:
1. I could not get assigned seats without being charged for them - and this was after purchasing a super expensive premium fare (and many seats in my class were already unavailable at the time of selecting newly paid for seats)
2. VIP and Change For Any Reason isn't worth the money! I still had to wait an hour. The number the app gives you ONLY reaches someone you wait 25 minutes to get who has no authority to change your ticket.
3. Hopper is a third party, making money off of an online platform with very little actual human help.
Booking directly with the airline is so much less headache when it comes to making standard changes.
The penalty fee would absolutely be worth the headache of living through the wasted time and false promises of this Hopper app.
It seems "change for any reason" should have a simple button on the app.
4. No it doesn't. I only wanted to change the date of my return, but the limited little design and algorithms only allow you to start the whole modification from scratch. Can not change just one part of the paid for fare dates. You have to choose a whole new everything thereby losing your original fare and any change in what the pricing is.
I don't recommend using hopper, I booked a hotel room with them and when I got to the hotel they had me down as pay upon arrival even though I paid on their app. I tried calling but I couldn't talk to anyone for 24 hours when they would respond unless I paid to speak to a person. Since I was already at my destination I just paid for another room and called my credit card company and they took care of refunding me for my original purchase. This company made me very nervous about using any third party in the future.

Worse app to use if you are looking for a company you can rely on. All they care about is money. You spend a lot of money on your ticket and if you miss your flight they are useless they don't even offer hopper credit. And it's a nightmare to get a hold of them. I just can't with them and when you finally do they give you false information. Don't waste you money and use another app for your travels. Thank me later!

Paid for hopper flight freeze, and when I went to actually book the flight it told me the flight was no longer available. Ate my flight freeze payment of over $100. I went to see if the flight had seats left, and it absolutely does - at a $400 price increase. Hopper is clearly working with airlines to ensure travellers pay highest possible ticket pricing. DO NOT USE.

Saw the ads on facebook so I gave it a try to book one of their "Hopper pick" hotel for my vacation, I got the Hopper confirmation code (no hotel confirmation email). When I arrived at the hotel, there's no reservation booked under my name. I call the Hopper customer service, they confirmed my Hopper booking but when they check with the hotel system, there was NOTHING reserved. I end up wasted an hour at the hotel front desk for nothing. Hopper was cancelled that booking and I had to pay the walk in price to the hotel which was hundred of dollars more expensive than booking through any other booking site. Hopper is a SCAM and need to be avoid at all cost if you want to save your time and money.
I rented a car through the Hopper app for a car at the ATL Airport from Sixt. The price was good for a midsize SUV. When I arrived at the counter I was informed there was no cars available. The agent took a photo of her screen with my phone showing no cars available. I went to the next counter and with no reservation the rate was almost $200 for a compact. I was going to rent directly from my phone from another agency but could not connect to their site. So I went back on the Hopper app and rented a compact and after purchasing was told it would be from Thrifty. When I got to their counter there was a long line. After waiting in line for half an hour I was told I would have to wait an hour to 1-1/2 hours for a car. There are no cancellations from Hopper so I was stuck. After waiting 2-1/2 hours I got back in line to cancel but my name was called before I canceled. Later I tried contacting Hopper for a refund from Sixt. 9 days later and multiple calls and emails (including the photo of Sixt's computer screen) I have gotten no where. Now I understand why you have to pay extra for VIP customer service. They are awful. Never again.

These people took my money out of my account and I never got to stay at the hotel they had me sleep outside after I told them I had kidney problems and I just found out that's why I booked the hotel but no one help I called for my refund and literally it's been the hardest because they don't have phone numbers to call and they expect you to have all this information when you call that's nowhere to been found on the app because I advice everybody who wants peace in their lives to never ever use hopper because they too will make you feel like me all horrible and sad

I was quoted a lesser price and when I arrived at Dollar rental they advised me taxes were not configured correctly by Hooper then Hopper blamed Dollar! I will never use Hopper again! Expedia and Priceline have never quoted me wrong prices and I never was over charged! I used this because it was advertised as a service to all travel companies! This is a scam and I'm letting all know through this review!

Hopper double charged me for a 71.00 price freeze. Customer service has no phone number to speak to a live person and the price freeze says it's non refundable. I won't be using this app a second time because of this dishonest practice.

We all know that luggage is already ridiculously priced and with hopper you can't book luggage so you have to book it after the fact losing the booking price. I would have saved 40 dollars if I would have booked straight through Frontier. I will be telling everyone I know to not use Hopper.

Answer: File a claim with your bank. They charged me An additional 2 nights after hopper said they would refund my money. Instead they went without my consent n charged me an additional 2 nights. I was robbed for a total of 3 nights. Without being able to contact any support. A total Scam!
Answer: No they are about polar opposite of trustworthy. Run don't walk away from this company. My lesson cost $1435 dollars. If you require customer service look elsewhere they have none. Not even a phone number which is the first red flag.
