Horrible

I booked a vacation, but they had no knowledge of my booking. They took my money though. I talked to numerous hipper agents, all on email cause you can't get a live person on the phone, only to continously be transferred to other people. It's been a month and I get an email saying they have resolved my issue, but yet I still have the charge from them and no money back. Needless to say they ruined my vacation and still have resolved nothing.

Paid $40.00 for travel interruption...but fine print says pay out only for 24 hours. If your flight cancelled outside of that no coverage or refund. Useless emails back and forth saying nothing, they can't even put into words their not refunding me.brutal

Shouldn't be in business

The worst decision you can ever make! Everybody dont speak well, with bad customer service. Don't understand basic problem solving and how to satisfy a customer. I spent five days on the phone before I even start booking and then they played with your money. They refused to give me my refund off of a freeze that I made the same day. They put it in a voucher and the kicker is you can't use two vouchers at the same time so it was able to expire and they promise they were going to call me back they stole 40 something dollars from me. Run don't ever work with this company! I hope my hotel is better than their company! They are horrible and the worst decision and experience I ever had. They deserve no stars!

This program sounds good on the surface but boy are you in for a surprise if you actually try to use it! I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with 5 different Indian helpdesk personnel, some could not speak English. First told me I was not eligible for the "Change for any reason" even though I had paid for it. That pretty much set the tone for the conversation to follow. The customer service is absolutely terrible, people don't know what they are doing, they make you purchase a new ticket and then maybe they will reimburse you. I am still waiting for response from the help desk following the process they have laid out and it's now within 24 hrs of my flight and I still have not gotten a confirmation that my flight change is in effect.

I RESERVED A ROOM USING THE "PRICE FREEZE". I PAID A 90.00 DEPOSIT AND WHEN IT WAS THE DEADLINE TO BOOK IT I RECEIVED A MESSAGE THAT THE ROOM I WANTED IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE USING "PRICE FREEZE" SO THEY OFFER A ROOM WHICH IS A DOWNGRADE. I WANTED TO UPGRADE AND PAY FOR THE ROOM IN FULL WHEN I BOOKED IT. YOU CANT REACH CUSTOMER SUPPORT UNLESS YOU PAY FOR THE VIP CUSTOMER SUPPORT FEATURE. YOU CANT SPEAK WITH ANYONE ABOUT ANYTHING IF YOU DONT HAVE A BOOKING NUMBER. THEY WILL NOT REFUND THE 90.00 SINCE THEY OFFERED ME THE SAME ROOM TYPE WHICH MEANS IT HAS A KING-SIZE BED. THE ROOM I PUT A 90.00 DEPOSIT ON HAS A PANORAMIC VIEW AND A BALCONY, IT'S BETWEEN THE 23RD - 28TH FLOOR. THE ROOM THEY OFFERED ME DOES NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE OPTIONS. I attempted to contact Hopper after my flight was delayed the day of to receive a refund of my flight since I had paid extra for the flight delay guarantee. Hopper made it IMPOSSIBLE to contact anyone. It is now two months later and I finally got in contact by replying to email confirmations from "no-reply emails" until I was redirected to an email address that was actually being monitored. So after two months, and then countless emails back and forth, they will not award me my refund since it is last 24 hours…. Do not buy there flight delay guarantee nor use there app. They made it extremely difficult to get into contact and now I am out of money due to their terrible customer service

I booked two expensive roundtrip international flights (>$2,000 per person) through Hopper. We are supposed to fly out September 4th and to date the flights are the best price and routing I have seen but I am unable to look up my booking on the airlines website with the booking code Hopper provided. When I emailed Hopper for assistance (July 14th) I sent them the error code I got when I tried to pull up my reservation from the airline's website. It took them until August 7th to finally respond to my email, almost a month! It's like they are trying to hold their customers hostage with slow, unresponsive customer support to extort customers to pay extra money for their "VIP Support" which is a disgusting tactic in my opinion. If a company sells a product and something goes wrong, I feel that it is the companies duty to respond to their customers without the customers having to pay money to talk to support!

When they finally responded, their "support" was to tell me to go to the airline's website and enter the booking code and my name to pull up my reservation. This is what I had tried before and, surprise, surprise...it did not work and still did not work. I sent a follow-up email saying that this did not work and they replied that I needed to enter the verification code (you know, the thing that proves you aren't a robot)...I had also done this every time I tried to pull up my reservation. So far their support has not been helpful at all. I put additional questions in my emails such as "please try to pull my reservation using the steps you are giving me to try, it does not work for me...does it work for you?" and "please provide me with a phone number since these support emails are going nowhere". They provide canned, unhelpful responses and don't address my other questions. I am very concerned that if/when something goes wrong with our flights, it will be impossible to contact Hopper and to deal with any issues.

The only pros I see are, when I called the airline directly they could see my booking so it seems like we have a legitimate reservation for the flights (phew). Hopper's price and flight routing for our trip was better than the airline or other site prices. All this is no longer a pro if something goes wrong and Hopper, acting as the middle man, is unwilling to help or I am unable to reach them.

I wish I had read more reviews before buying a flight through Hopper. It does not seem like it's worth the stress and anxiety dealing with them. They seem like a terrible company. Fingers crossed we are actually booked on our flight and everything goes smoothly but I am very nervous at the moment. I would not recommend Hopper based on my experience to date.

You pay for a price freeze and the purchase has to be done within a certain time frame. I get that. I also understood that if the price drops, you would pay the lower rate. I paid for my trip a day before my "deadline" and hours later the price drops by $100. Nothing could be done. You end up paying more anyway with freezing the price (airfare + fee to freeze). Not worth it in my view.

They booked a flight with a 9-hour layover and booked it as a separate flight, not a connection, and did not send me the information. I did not have booking information or even a code to check the status of my flight. Combining Hopper and Frontier airlines was a nightmare and I will never use either of these services again.

Fraud

I booked my rent a car ionline and paid with my debit c card. Arrive at my destination and find out it has to be a credit card when the full amount has been deducted from my checking account so we run the credit card and had double payment now they message me saying they cant refund the money to me. I have built my resources and im taking them to court. If anyone is going through the samething, let work together and bring this hopper to rest

Both hopper and hotel charged separately for the same room. I am hopeful This may get resolved in couple of weeks but it definitely was not worth investing so much time. I am deleting the app as soon as I get my refund.

Hopper has twice now lied to me about their services, and left me thousands of dollars out of pocket. Hopper sells their "cancel for any reason" service which when I attempted to cancel earlier this year, they gave me "airline credit" which when I attempted to use through them as instructed, would have had me paying the same price for the ticket as if I had not received any airline credit. Their reasoning was "airlines always charge more to rebook" but their service literally says that they will cover the rebooking fees? Which they did not offer to do. And if you don't reply back within two days they will close your ticket, they sent me communication saying I had forfeited my credit because I didn't reply back while I checked other options since Hopper refused to honour their policy.

More recently, they sold me a ticket which was billed as "change for free" and when I attempted to change the tickets, the airline said that Hopper had booked non-refundable, non-changeable tickets. In fact my app still says I can change my tickets for free. I've been going back and forth, while they say you will get "support," they refuse to let you speak to anyone and they keep directing you to the airline. Unless you pay for "VIP support," they will keep giving you the run around and not let you speak to anyone. I finally spoke to someone last night, and they said they would escalate the issue and call back, but they never did. I am currently waiting for their response through email again as they "escalate" the issue once more.

They refuse to honor their services as advertised and I now need to book new tickets out of pocket. They also refuse to refund my original tickets due to their own mistake. Hopper lies and cheats and will not honor any add-on you pay for. Do not use this service.

They will make it as hard as possible to receive any kind of service you pay for.

Bunch of scammers and thieves!

I bought a flight and canceled it. I asked for a refund and showed proof of what I bought from the app as they asked me too, and said it wasn't enough evidence for the refund. They "tried" helping me by redirecting me to a different company and even with that still no refund. A simple thank you doesn't help, What will help is that you guys give us our money back.

Lied, tacked on charges, disputed refund

Luckily I have my credit card send me a text about literally everything because I saw Hopper apply 4 separate charges to my credit card, including a $5 tip (they did not mention this anywhere on the App) and a $7 support fee (they tried to force me to buy all sorts of "flexibility" packages which I'd declined, so I don't know where or when they think I confirmed this charge... because I didn't), totaling substantially more than I'd agreed to. ($5 and $7 seem small, but the point is that the TOTAL was a lie; they applied 4 separate charges in the hopes that I wouldn't catch the lie.)

They did not pay the hotel.

Hopper takes your money and then has its own "single use" credit card which it sends to the hotel. That was declined. The hotel did not receive the money, but I had paid Hopper.

When I tried to call the support line, it was an utter nightmare of looped recorded messages that didn't accept the codes that they'd provided to me. After trying over and over, I opted for the messaging system, and they gave me a convoluted runaround, arguing with me about how much I had been charged by Hopper and which payments were refundable. They messed up; every penny should be refunded. I do not want them to keep the $5 "tip" that I never agreed to pay them. I have to wait "8-10 business days" to see if the main payment was actually refunded.

THEY LIE. The numbers they quote you ARE too good to be true, so don't fall for the B.S.

Spread the word! Tell your friends to remove the App from their phones if they've downloaded it. Seriously, talk about this. Don't assume people will look up reviews when they're trying to quickly find a place to sleep or affordable flights. Make sure your friends don't even have the app so they won't be tempted by the lies. TELL PEOPLE how bad this company is.

I purchased a return ticket from YVR to LAS, and I cannot get on the flight to return home. I am writing this review as I am waiting for my flight, which I purchase separately so I can get home.
I have received confirmation email about my entire trip, but for whatever reason "It appears that it (my return flight) was automatically rejected because the booking was not confirmed." as per the representative from Hopper. They said they wouldn't know either and I found this answer unacceptable. So basiclly you wouldn't know until you trying to check in for your return flight and now you are stuck away from home. Hopper will make you to upgrade to VIP if there is any issue and need to get hold of them. Their automated phone system is brunch of crap and they cannot recognize your Hopper comfirm number as well. I do not recommend this app because I just paid addition $450 just to get home! Beware!

Airline did not recognize my airline reservations and as a result I lost my luggage and I was told you need to take risk if you follow the hopper application as it was not communicating with the major airlines for booking related travel. I had to file claim with Xcovers.com through Hopper and the wait to talk to someone is ridiculous.

Terrible app. Won't use it again. Didn't honor freeze rate. Was in touch with their rep who couldn't spell my name correctly in email and they refunded the freeze rate cost rather than giving me the new rate. Scam!
