DON'T USE THIS SITE! THEY ARE FRAUDULENT! THEY POST A PRICE ON THEIR SITE BUT UNDERNEATH THE SUBMIT BUTTON ON THE CREDIT CARD PAGE THEY TAG ON A RIDICULOUS "RECOVERY" FEE! THEY CHARGED ME $35 MORE THAN EVERY OTHER SITE WOULD HAVE FOR ONE NIGHT AT A HOTEL. THE ADDITIONAL CHARGE NOTICE IS IN LIGHTER PRINT THAN THE REST OF THE PAGE AND YOU DON'T SEE IT SINCE IT IS UNDER THE SUBMIT BUTTON UNTIL YOU GET A NOTIFICATION THAT YOU HAVE BEEN CHARGED WAY MORE THAN THE PRICE THEY QUOTED. I AM TURNING THEM INTO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND REPORTING THEM TO MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. NOTE ON MY PHOTO BELOW WHERE THEY PLACE THE EXTRA CHARGE NOTIFICATION. HONEST COMPANIES PUT IT ABOVE THE COMPLETE RESERVATION BUTTON!
My experience is the same as so many others in this thread. I thought it was the hotel's website. Turns out it wasn't. Was charged a large service fee. It was 100% more than i was supposed to pay. I was horrified and nauseated when i realised this was a scam. Called them and cancelled my reservation. They sent an email promising me a refund of the full amount. I fear I may never see a single cent of that money. Only time will tell.
Ps anyone who's managed to get a refund successfully from this company, please DM me, thanks
Update: I got my refund 5 days later. I gotta give 'em that.
I thought i was booking with holiday inn. I always select a "no cancellation fee rate" which i did for a two night stay, it was about $30 higher than the lower non- refundable rates. When I got the email confirmation showing additional taxes and service fees of the equivalent of another night's stay, I called to cancel. Was told that I booked a non- refundable stay! This is fraud: I paid more so I could cancel. I was first told that I booked a non- refundable stay, then that it was the hotel's policy, not their's. I spoke with holiday inn and they said cancellation was totally in the hands of getaroom/guestreservations, they only show the reservation as a "third party reservation". Fraudulent offers, lies and outrageous service fees: I too am speaking with my lawyer
I thought I was booking a room on hotel website, but their site is very misleading. After I confirmed the room the email was sent with the wrong date, and changed 28$ tax on a 61$ room. They will not refund or change room date to intended date.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE! They pose as British and advertise hotel and prices in UK pounds at a lower price. When you come to pay and have entered card details you get no booking summary, instead the money is taken automatically. The confirmation then shows a price much higher. For example, the price shown was £54 but the amount I was charged was £71.79. The site appears to be American and the extra charge they say is for "Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees".
I have contacted my card company and cancelled my card. Do not trust this company.
I booked a hotel reservation on what appeared to be the hotel website. Found a reservation for $134/night and only upon submitting did I see another $100 charged to my account for "fees". I immediately called/emailed the company to cancel within minutes of reserving only to be told it's non-refundable, no cancellation.
Frustrated, I knew I was scammed. A few weeks later, I needed to modify the reservation by 1 day, moving from Fri-Sun to Sat-Sun. After back and forth with both the hotel and this awful company neither could assist me. It is a complete scam and terrible customer service. DO NOT USE. Book directly with the hotel website and look carefully to make sure it's not this deceitful company.
I just reservations for a hotel room $77 a night this site charged $71 in taxes and fees. These are a bunch of con artist stealing your hard-earned money. If I canceled the reservation I would be charged a $154
These creeps added $40 to the cost of my $105 hotel stay without disclosing it. Their website looks like you are dealing with the hotel directly.
How on earth are these people still in business with the same repeated complaints, they add on preposterous hidden charges (£23.00) making it by far the most expensive booking method online, absolutely disgusted despite the fact I will be charging this booking/trip to HMRC for businesses purposes.
Unbelievable and I feel for those who are personally out of pocket, a complete scumbag company, I will complain strongly to the hotel chain who allow themselves to be represented by this scum.
My review is simply an echo of all the others! How do we get these people out of business? Website looks like hotel website. Booked room and then was charged 40% in taxes and fees which can't be seen! Feel like total idiot! Then tried to cxl and was told non- refundable. ZERO customer service! 76 years old and one of worst experiences of my life!
If I could give negative stars, I would. Hidden fees, costs $50 more per night than booking through the hotel, non-refundable, customer service is a joke. Do NOT recommend. I will NEVER book with this site again.
I honestly believed I was on the hotel I googled website, but I didnt make a reservation initially. 24 hours later I went back via the link in the email I received. This third party booking site had no name recognition with me so I mistaken assumed the email was from the hotel. I dont think they did anything illegal but the way they conduct business is shady. Luckily this mistake wasnt too costly but I figured I would join the crowd of people who advise against using this site intentionally, and to look closely at the url before booking at what you think is the hotels site. Or you may get hit with a bigger sticker shock than you intended. There are plenty of more reputable 3rd party sites that dont resort to these gray area tricks to make a sale.
Horrible customer service. No Cancellation policy was put into effect the day BEFORE I made the reservation! Tried to cancel and change the city within 10 minutes of securing it. UNBELIEVABLE
Where are our rights? It advertised 195 euro for a room and charged me 295! And they don't refund! DO NOT USE THIS SITE. I'm going to write Sofitel Heathrow a bad review because they use this site.
Found room on there site for $349 for 2 nights. Once I put in payment and confirmed then it says $913.78. Could not go back or make Change online. Called company in less than 5 minutes and they said them at they have a 100% non refundable policy and with no explanations of why the price jumped by $150%. Don't use this site.
Worst mistake ever. I was misled with the website thinking that I was booking directly with the hotel. I put the wrong date by mistake and when I called they said that I had to book another night. I was also charged an extra $69 and they couldn't explain what it was for! Never again and I'll definitely make sure that I book directly with the hotel! Their customer service is also horrible. No stars at all for this deceitful website!
Can't believe they got me. Googled "Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport" and their link came up intentionally looking exactly like the "real" Hyatt link which was further down the page. Nothing on their site hints that they're a 3rd party booking site. Everything looked like I was on a Hyatt reservation page. The price was exactly what I was expecting, so booked the room, but after clicking "purchase" the confirmed price was $120 more than the price they listed. I called immediately and after getting a 20 minute run around finally got them to refund the FULL purchase price including all fees. 3-5 days for the refund to process, so we'll see. But I have an emailed refund confirmation, which should make challenging the charge with my credit card company easy if the refund fails to process.
Booked a hotel with a reasonable price. Clicked button & hey presto, the booking cost is the same but the taxes are almost half of the cost (on top of the booking cost may I add)
Absolutely DO NOT USE this website for your hotel reservations! It is a scam with unusually high fees that you find out after you have booked your reservation. When I called customer service they actually took pleasure in charging me $50 over the advertised prices for Fees. Said I could cancel but would still be charged full prices. Blamed me for not reading the terms and conditions thoroughly. DO NOT USE it is a scam!
We were trying to book directly with a hotel and this site came up looking very similar to the official hotel site. We were then charged an extra 21 for "service charges" which was not apparent on booking.
Look very carefully at the web address when trying to book directly with a hotel as you can easily end up booking with so called "Guest Reservations".
