Update - We are very happy to hear that your rental went well and you liked the rental vehicle.
BEWARE……They offer cars at an extremely low daily rate BUT once you are at their facility they will FORCE/PRESSURE you into getting all their "upgrades". They do not accept most auto insurance in lieu of their in house insurance. It says nothing about this on their website and in their terms and conditions. They just rudely point to a sign on their counter that states this. I watched them do this to an elderly couple who begrudgingly payed this additional fee which was twice the cost of the rental. Our insurance company was listed on the sign as accepted. We presented them with our our insurance card on-line (GEICO app). They said that the only a HARD COPY of the Declaration page of the Insurance contract was acceptable. They said it is clearly stated in the terms and contracts of the rental (online) and showed me a hard copy of the agreement which DID NOT say this. When I argued with them they told me I was cancelled and refused to honor the reservation. They also kept our prepaid money. We left the site. As we left another returning customer was arguing with them about damage to the car which he said they had documented when they picked up the car. That documentation had somehow disappeared. This place is a well oiled RIPOFF facility. If you go on well respected review sites that can't be "mined" you will see they have a ONE rating and everybody has the same complaint………. BEWARE!

I had a good experience when I booked with Green Motion at Stansted airport. The car was nice, the booking process and the service at pick up and drop off was great. Only negative comment I would make is that I am not a fan of limited mileage, but in this case it worked for me.

But everything from there is down hill.
Access from terminal to off site rental takes almost an hour on the bus, yet 6 mins by taxi (£36)
Customer service very questionable - they live in their own world of self importance- and you are a nuisance.
Our car was not available- we were convinced of "this fab replacement" which did not fit our purpose, and was from a cheaper size and category would be perfect- aa a family of 4 with large suitcases we were cramped - they had zero interest in what our needs were - this outfit is worse that a second car hand dealership.

Car was perfect, clean, no damage, everything was perfect, but I guess the 150€ looked more like they belong to you instead of me,

We booked a vehicle from the Stanstead team for early on Friday morning, having flown into the UK late on Thursday. However, we, along with our fellow travellers, had our flight delayed by 20 hours. We rang the Stanstead team to keep them informed and asked them to keep our booking open for when we arrived. This was very important to us as we were to drive to North Yorkshire for a wedding. Not only did they keep the booking they also upgraded our vehicle. Thank you Michael for your helpn on the phone, and Chatlie for dealing with us promptly and efficiently when we arrived finally. For us, a job well done and we were on our way.
Had this been the end of the saga, we would have been happy. However...
On return day, a major road closure caused a 2-3 hour delay in returning the car. One phone call to us to ensure we were safe and on our way, Charlie was once again waiting and executed the return protocols swiftly. OK xo maybe he was ready to go home, but he was still very professional and courteous and took the appropriate amount of time. Well done team.

When I picked up the car it was almost midnight, and I was tired of a full day's work and the plane ride. The diesel tank of the car I picked up was almost empty. "No problem, there's a gas station over there" the man from the office said to me. "You should of course bring it back empty too". I got on my way, but there was no gas station in the direction that he had waved to. 20 miles further, on the last drop of diesel, I sputtered into a station and filled the car up. Not realising that this model consumes only 1 liter every 55-65 miles. Coming back into the car return I have ½ a tank full. Now, do you think they compensate me for this "service?

I had a stressful flight and ground transfer so I was ready for my bad luck to continue. It seemed I was right on the money when I arrived loooong queue and not a glimpse of staff in sight. Than I asked the family of 5 to not block the entrance (I was provided with furious looks from those people) and than the sun started shining and the guy at the desk was really nice and in no time I was driving away in my car. On return, I was so nicely treated I did not want to leave the gentleman helped me with luggage, he was polite and it was just such a relief after a long day and I still had a flight to take. I would recommend this company staff at Luton for their courtesy, kindness and helpfulness. I am sure will look to book with them again when local.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).
Answer: Hi E. B. Thank you for your question. I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
