I am very disappointed in this website! Getaroom.com almost attempted to imitate the Hyatt website and then charged me much more in fees than the actual Hyatt website would have! OVER $80 in hotel fees is completely RIDICULOUS - save yourself the trouble and money and just book through the hotels direct website! Besides, once you realize that they have overcharged you, you won't be able to get a hold of their customer service line! Truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had while booking a hotel and we travel quite often!
This US-Site sneaks like a drone into the internet imitating true hotel sites and charging exorbitant rates plus debiting the charges immediately in true US-style whereas my German hotel would have charged be earliest one day before arrival allowing late cancellation. This site is clearly meant to cheat unsuspecting travellers and should be banned!
Beware this company is a scam charge my credit card and did't pay the hotel, when you call them someone in India pickup the phone and don't knows whats going on.
I booked a reservation for the Intercontinental Montreal thinking I was booking directly with the hotel. That was my mistake, but Getaroom.com definitely makes an effort to make it look like you are booking directly with the hotel. I didn't realize this until I receive the confirmation email from getaroom - I'm not happy with this because I prefer always to book directly with the hotel to avoid hassles. Second, the advertised and quoted rate was right around $250 USD. When I got the confirmation email it had all the taxes and fees added in which totaled it to over $350 USD for 1 night. I am not an inexperienced traveler but I got lazy on this one and they took advantage of me. It took multiple calls to actually get a person on the phone in the Philippines with Getaroom.com but of course they refused to do any cancellation with refund due to the refund policy (which I knew about). I could actually here other agents in the background repeating the same lines I was getting: "sorry we're not allowed to refund due to policy". And "no there isn't a supervisor available to speak with you". I had to call the hotel directly who was nice enough to cancel my reservation but then it took another 30 minute call back to Getaroom a week later to get them to refund the $$. This isn't what I call a business built on good service and a quality product. In my view it's built more on taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers.
Please whatever you do, just go directly to the hotel site to book, you will get a way better deal than anything this GetARoom site can give you, instead they added on a $77 booking surcharge to my booking for one night...
I had used another app for a vacation stay but it turned out badly. Getaroom found me a good replacement! Thanks for the good service!

Get a Room imitated the Hilton site, charged us more than the walk-in rate and never answered the phone when I called to try to cancel. I would give them a zero if that was an option.
I booked thru getaroom for the first time and it went thru just fine, just confirmed it at the hotel!

I am writing this review because of the horrible experience I have just had. I booked around 5:45 pm yesterday for a family reunion in Asheville. I received a call that my uncle suffering from deminsia was being forced to relocate his hospice facility. When I booked it stated FREE CANCELLATION. When I called the customer service they stated that the room was non refundable. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the lady would not transfer me. She said it was company policy. My sister booked through Priceline and was able to receive a 100 percent refund due to a family emergency. I offered to provide the Priceline documentation to prove I was not lying. The reservation was for the same dates and the same hotel. In my opinion this is a horrible business practice and everyone should know that this is a horrible company and Hilton should cut ties with a HORRIBLE COMPANY like this. When Icalled Hilton and talked to their supervisor..... she stated under these circumstances she would have worked with me. Also I asked for a voucher to use in the future for the same hotel, and it was not obtainable. Their online fees are absolutely ridiculous as well. I will continue to give negative reviews until this situation is resolved
I booked a last minute business trip and had to cancel due to client. I also thought i had booked through the Hyatt website. When i opened email to call i noticed the hotel itself was $897 for 3 nights, and the "service fee"... was $547 extra which i never noticed or saw during booking... when i called to try to cancel, was put on hold while they "called the hotel". And of course said they could offer no help as the cancellation wasn't 2 weeks out. I had booked the day before. Was told they had spoken to the manager of the hotel, when i called the hotel to follow up, i was informed there was no one by that name working there. I've been in the hotel business over 30 years and will make sure to tell every owner, dos, gm, and business traveler to stay away... i was finally charged well over $500 to cancel... be careful when you book...

This is how the scam begins. You think you're on the actual hotel's website. Somehow you end up on theirs, with the promise of a very good rate. You complete the process with no mention of the "actual" price. You're asked to finalize your payment without seeing that they've tacked on an additional $78. I called immediately to cancel once I received the email confirmation, but was told there was a no refund policy. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

I was searching rates and was given a 10 minute time to book at a much lower rate. After accepting the rate an entering my info the booking doubled in price. Upon contacting Get A Room they would not honor the lower rate or cancell the reservation. Spoke with hotel manager and was told they have several complaints weekly about such transactions.

The room was very small, just room for the bed and walk around it. There were no amenities included, had to pay for parking and Wi-Fi and there was no microwave. There was only one of their three elevators working so it took forever to go in and out. One woman got stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes while we were there. It is in a convenient location, but that was the only positive thing.

This merchant poses as a direct website for the hotel. They charge exorbitant fees on top and offer a no/cancellation/refund/change policy. They are frauds and scammers. I attempted to book a room directly with the Marriott and through my search was re-routed to this scam site. I did not realize that booked through them until I called the hotel to let them know of my late arrival. After realizing i was paying HUNDREDS more than what it would have been to book through the hotel as I intended, i called to request a refund.

It took 3 calls, talking to three people and at least 45 min on hold to finally book a room. And then each was a different cost and the last was the most. Go figure. Plus, I got different information from each person on the cancellation requirements. So I booked, continued my research and booked with another place that provided better service. Thus, the cancellation!

My first attempt: Niles MI instead of Niles IL was booked. Money will be refunded in 6 weeks. Second attempt: 1 guest instead of 2. Money will be refunded in 6 weeks. An agent plainly lied on record saying that

I've been travelling the country since the 1980's for work, and this is THE worst experience of what has been a wide range of experiences. A total sham. Would love to know what shopping center storefront this business operates out of. Hopeful that Hyatt and other hotels will not do business with them much longer. Scott G.
I will NEVER book a room with this website ever again. I'm not even sure how I got to the page to book the room. I thought I was booking a room on the website of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elkton -Md. I got a price of $111 a night which was less than Travelocity or Expedia. After I put in my credit card number and confirmed the room, a $47.71 charge for tax recovery and service charge showed up in the email confirmation they sent. And there was a no cancellation after May 30 even though I booked on June 2. Be aware of these sneaking charges if you can. Maybe it was hidden in the tiny, tiny print and I missed it but NEVER again will I book anything with this scam of a company
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
