I booked a room at Holiday Inn Express online on their website, was redirected to Getaroom. They up-charge the price, I was quoted 102, charged 149. You don't get the final price until you submit. I cancelled it - the reservation is over a month away. They refuse to refund, they said it's there policy not to refund and I agreed to it. I've called them, emailed them. They told me the hotel won't refund. I called the hotel myself and was told they are lying. They got the money back from the hotel and they are pocketing it as well as the up-charge. Beware!
Represented themselves as if I was calling the holiday inn. Turned out it wasn't. Didn't know until I received my email confirmation that it wasn't the holiday inn. Called to cancel, they wouldn't do it. I called the holiday inn and they tried to cancel and couldn't. Holiday inn also told me they can cancel if they want to. They are liars and frauds. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. Resolution has been made. I received a refund
After receiving the confirmation they charged exorbitant fees which weren't disclosed when I made th reservations. I called immediately and they would only refund $13 of the taxes and fees. Such a scam.

My wife has told me that I should have known: but when I was looking for a hotel room in Baltimore, I accidentally made a reservation with "GetARoom.com." They cited a price, and I went for it, booking two nights. Once I got the actual charge, I saw a few things. First, the price for the second night was at least $50 higher than the first. Second, they added an additional $100+ dollars for "tax recovery charges and service fees." Finally, they told me that the reservation was non-refundable. When I called to try to cancel, they offered me a $26 discount. Not what I was looking for! This is a predatory enterprise. DON'T USE GETAROOM.COM!
P.S.: complaining helps. After writing this, I got a refund.

This company charged my credit card for a room. However, there was never a reservation made! I have never been refunded for this non existent reservation. When I tried to call, I got transferred around and eventually hung up on. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone.

A bit difficult to understand.
Hotel rate was higher than the same room, same hotel the following day.
Too bad I couldn't just modify a reservation. Instead of moving the dates by one day, I had to go through the entire rebooking and then the original cancellation. Too much work.

$167 service charge for 2 nights at Holiday Inn Express. They allowed me to cancel; however, the fine print allowed them to charge me anyway. They never paid Holiday Inn Express, but charged me the full amount. I disputed the charge and my CC company refused to reverse the charges. I will be seeking the advice from an attorney

I was surprised that if I made a reservation in Calgary, using my Canadian $ credit card, the amount will not be fixed.
I made the reservation using my US $ credit card and confirmed it by calling the hotel.
The information you provided was not accurate: the parking for one night was not included.
Stayed before ask for a new bed spread due to stains didn't have one not good for a business also toilet had flecksof stool init I'm a nurse things should be cleaned the first time but of course we called an$ they had someone from housekeeping come up that should not be we should got a discount or rewards which don't affect there cost at all have to stay there caus3 every other inn was booked shape up

First off... went to holiday inns website and this so called company is who I apparently booked my reservation through... but you have no idea you're not booking through the actual hotel. So deceiving. When I called the number to say I made a mistake with my reservation they told me they would not refund my money. When I asked the rep to speak to her supervisor she told me there was no one else I could speak to. She wouldn't give me her name and wouldn't give me any information. I've read all of these reviews about how deceptive this company is and I expect my money back and expect to hear from someone who understand what I'm even saying! Please be aware of this if you're trying to book through them! This is terrible! It's a total SCAM. I don't care what it takes but I will get my money back from them whatever it takes. The rep I spoke to also told me I could send an EMAIL... went to send an email and it said the web address doesn't exist! Save your money and time and I hope before booking nobody else has to go through this! It's pathetic and absolutely ridiculous!

Got online to what looked like the motel website. Room rate looked OK, so I booked it. However, the confirmation email indicated that a 40% "Tax" was added to the room rate.
I tried to contact the "need help" phone number provided on the confirmation email, but all I got was a recording that said if I had any question to contact the motel directly. The motel could not do anything about the excessive charge. This is a case of dishonesty at best, and larceny at worst!

I thought I was on the Hilton Buenos Aires site, offered a price with a buy now button but Invoice came through at 3x more. Including getarooms taxes and charges which were 33% at $166.

I made an error in booking a room through this website. I called within 5 mins to cancel the reservation. They refused to help even though I had called within 5 mins of making the mistaken reservation. Dont waste your time with this website. There are much better services out there for making reservations without the hidden fees. Simply put, this site will exploit mistakes for their benefit.

The site offers a fast booking, good prices and if needed cancellation
I was quoted a price inclusive of fees at $975. The total charge was $1169. 52. I specifically asked if the $975 was the entire charge and assured that it was the correct total. I tried to change it but was told i could get a discount? I don't want a discount. I want me money back for your illegal actions. Has this been a class action yet?
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
