The site advertised FREE CANCELLATIONS. When I tried to call and cancel one night, I was told the fine print said free cancellations must be made the next day by 10:00 AM, less than 24 hours after I booked! I will NEVER pre-pay and book a room with hotelvalues.com or getaroom.com. They are both fraudulent.

I made a mistake one day when I tried to book a room at a hotel that I've stayed at in another town numerous times in the past. I typed the hotel and city in Google and clicked on the first linked that was listed. This link was for GetARoom and I thought I was talking to someone from the La Quinta that I stayed at. Big Mistake. I did use that reservation which i thought was high but wasn't sure with all the Covid-19 madness. I went back to the same hotel a couple of days later to stay again. This time I was absolutely sure that I called that hotel directly. I paid an average of $153/night with GetARoom compared to the $103/night going direct to La Quinta. Both rates included all fees and taxes. I just talked to someone at GetARoom and they were not able to give me a breakout of the extra $50/night for "Service Fee". The extra $226 in "Service Fees" would have covered two additional nights at the same hotel. The only service provided was 10 minutes on the phone setting up a reservation that I should have done directly instead. I asked the person on the phone at GetARoom to elevate me to a supervisor and I was told that they could not do that and the only number that they have was the same 1-800 number that I called. FYI, that phone number doesn't give an option to talk to an actual person in customer service.
I'm now going to leave a review on YELP and then contact the BBB. Finally I will contact the attorney generals office to report GetARoom as a SCAM.

All I wanted was to change my arrival by one day latter. After four or five different agents and several phone calls I finally reached an agent who decided to cancel and credit my reservation and make a new one and recharge my visa. I now have the correct reservation but not the visa credit, yet.

I initially contacted them back in April to cancel a hotel reservation due to the pandemic. They cancelled it and said they were working on getting the cancellation fees waived... still waiting for a response after the initial response. It was supposed to be 7 days... going on 7 WEEKS!
They say that they've tried to contact you, which is lies. No messages on either phone or calls logged. Finally heard from customer service but refund will take another 3-5 business days to process. If I paid my bills like this, the bill collectors would be at my door.

I MADE A RESERVATION FROM CHOICE HOTELS FOR A CLIENT TO STAY IN COMFORT INN HOTEL, NORTHYORK CANADA. A CONFIRMATION WAS SENT TO ME, ON THE CONFIRMATION SENT ME, IT WAS STATED THAT THE FUNDS WILL BE DEDUCTED BY CCI HOTEL, RES TX US.
BUT WHEN MY CLIENT GOT TO THE BOOOKED JHOTEL, THERE WAS NO RECORD OF SUCHTRANSACTION, AND HE WAS MADE TO PAY CASH BEFORE HE WAS ADMITED. IMMEDIATELY CCI DEDUCTED 713.58 USD FROM MY CARD IMMEDIATELY. ALL ATTEMPTS TO REACH THIS CCI PROOVED ABORTIVE UNTIL I DISCOVERED THEY ALSO USE GETAROOM, I ALSO SENT VARIUS MAILS, THEY NEVER REPLIED
ALL EFFORT TO GET A REFUND BY BANK WAS FUTILE AS THEY CLAIMED MY CLIENT NEVER CAME TO THE HOTEL.SO THEY CLAIMED IT WAS A NO SHOW.

Booked hotel for New York in June and had contacted them in regards to changing my booking. They came back almost instantly to state I had to cancel and rebook. However my hotel in NYC is closed due to coronavirus and is not open on my booking dates. I have contacted them 3 times looking for a change to 2021 or a refund. They have come back to me within an hour with a call, an email and then confirmation of refund, and already processed my refund. Great service thank you.

My elderly mother booked a room through Getaroom.com but then physically cancelled her reservation at the hotel where she was going to stay. She received a cancellation number and was informed everything was taken care of. She was later billed because she was unaware that she still needed to contact Getaroom.com. After working with Getaroom.com, they refunded her credit card. I'm so happy with their prompt attention to this matter.

I booked a room online thinking it was the actual hotel. When the event i was traveling for was rescheduled do to COVID-19, I called to switch the dates of my reservation. The hotel said i had to contact the 3rd party site i booked through. The customer service representative at Getaroom.com was rude and very hard to hear and understand. I explained my situation and was told i could not switch dates or get a refund.

It was absolutely fabulous. It's always nice to have someone who is happy and helpful.
Once my reservation was made, I needed to drop one night, still within the free changes guidelines. However, they told me I would have to cancel the whole reservation and make a new one with the new number of nights. Problem was, the rates had gone up significantly and they wouldn't give me the old rate. When the new reservation was supposedly made (after 2 hours on the phone with them), I called the hotel myself to make sure it was right. It was not. They had only secured one night of the four I needed. Did I mention this was for my daughter's wedding! What a nightmare! They are not dependable.

I made a reservation through them on 03/09/20 for 2 nights 04/24/20 & 04/25/20 but cancelled the same day. They said I would get my $406.20 back with no fees. To this day I still have not gotten it back. I have to file a small claims suit to get it back. They lie and they are thiefs. I called the Howard Johnson by Windham in Mystiec and they refused to help. Do not book with either unless you like oosing money!

Horrible service. Stole nearly $400 from me. Claimed that their agreed upon rate with the hotel was much higher than the actual hotel rate. Offered a measly 10% refund, which is about $100. Never using this website again.

First time. When making reservations I requested room on first floor. I was told it was put in the system. When checking in there was no annotation requesting a first-floor room. Therefore I did not get one. Also reservation person said breakfast was being served. I questioned this during the virus time. Was told again yes breakfast is being served. Expecting her to check with hotel to make sure however she did not. I called back a second time got a different Reservation person and was told no breakfast was not being served. Which is what I initially thought.
Told your first associate I wanted to book in Mississippi. He read back my confirmation and I thought I heard Michigan, so I asked about it he said "No I have you in Mississippi". When I got my email confirmation it WAS Michigan! Called back to cancel and re-book and talked to another associate. She looked it up and said, "No, he has you in Mississippi". I told her Mi. Is the abbreviation for Michigan, Mississippi is Ms. She said,"Well I didn't know, I'm not from America". So my first payment was $147 which I won't get back for three to five days. Very disappointing experience!

I made a reservation on the day to check in. I THOUGHT it was cancelled an hour later and all taken care of. Or so I was told. I WAS LIED TO BY SOMEONE AT THIS PHONE LINE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS.
The full refund would be in my account in 3- 4 days. 7 weeks later NOTHING... and no SUPERVISORS that I can talk to AND no person in higher command that I could get in contact with or even that they can call me back. NO NO NO

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
