Could not understand very well the person I made reservations with. Was not told it was non refundable, had to cancel room because wedding site was changed. Had to call back to get a confirmation email. When I called to cancel on September 3rd spoke to someone said it was canceled and no refund I have yet to see that confirmation of my cancellation. Very very poor service will never used again.
This issue was resolved beyond my satisfaction. I was contacted and was offered a 30% (considerably more than the booking fee). I requested 10% as that covered the booking fee. I will be more attentive next time to make sure I'm on the hotel website.
At no time did I believe I was bookIng with a 3rd party vendor. The whole booking is a scam to make you think you are on the hotel's official site. They charge you $20.00 to book what would be free if you were on the hotel site. No additional services are provided.

I wasn't aware I was calling this type of service till she offered to help me find another hotel. My operator, I apologize I don't remember her name, went out of her way to help me. I wanted a hotel with room service and accepts dogs, she searched for one for about 30 minutes but wasn't able to find one with room service. Not her fault, but COVIDS. So instead she found me the cheapest yet comfortable. I couldn't have asked for better service.
Me and my family booked a room at Quality Inn Hotel on August 30 due to being displaced by Hurricane Laura. I called to book a room forHoliday Inn Express which in turn the representative said it may be in the price range of $130 I agreed to the price due to being desperate to stay somewhere with my kids for the night. Afterwards he apologetically told me all the rooms for that hotel had been booked but said there was a Quality Inn that had rooms available. I told him I wasn't familiar with that kind of hotel and did not want me and my kids to be in a run down hotel. He told me there was a four star rating at that particular hotel. He also told me the price was much cheaper and he would get me in around $70/80. I'm not sure of actual price because I am driving and distracted by other things but I know for fact he said around those prices. He charged me for $137.47 which I was understanding that the price would change once my $50 would be refunded after check out only to call the actual hotel to be told that due to me booking with get a room they are unable to see what I paid for. Let me update you at this point on the hotel. Once we arrived we notice that It was definitely not the hotel that was described as a four star also I booked for two bed rooms and I received a one bed room. I have called the number for get a room and spoke to someone who was unable to assist me and the phone conveniently disconnected. At a stressful time like this no one should have to struggle to get information on why they were charged so much money for a one bed room at a two star hotel. I will make sure everyone knows not to book through this agency! A complete scam! Shame on you guys!

I always book hotels with the hotel website or thier 800#. Somehow I accidentally got on this website and called their 800 #, not realizing it was a third party booking agent. The call was not completed and I realized that this was not the Wyndham phone number. I immediately said cancel this reservation, I don't want to book through you. She said OK. I then repeated "so this reservation is cancelled" and she said yes. 30 minutes later I get an email confirmation and $356 charge. I called them immediately and was told "sorry this is non-refundable". I explained what had happened and that they told me previously that it was cancelled. She said oh yes we cancel it but you don't get any money back. I said but the reservation wasn't even completed and they said "too bad". I went up the chain of command and was told each time that it is a non-refundable room so I'm out of luck, even though the first agent told me that "yes it was cancelled". Gee, dumb me, I didn't also say "I expect a refund". Apparently, once they had my credit card number there was no way I was getting the money back. They also never said that I was making a non-refundable reservation. Now I am waiting for the conflict resolution dept. to call. We'll see if that happens - somehow I doubt it. In speaking to three different people I caught them in lies more than once. A totally sleezy, disreputable company.

I had to cancel one room of our 6 night stay in September. The process was done with professionalism, ease and no penalty. Our first reservation was cancelled, rebooked and a much lower rate. I am more than pleased with GetARoom

I booked a room in error through this website thinking it was the actual hotel chains website and when I asked if it was the case they lied and said they were. Then they did not tell me about the charges in $USD or the service fee's - no transparency. Had they been honest I would not have booked and save myself a few hundred dollars in costs that I would not have had to pay. I would not have accepted this website had they been honest so do yourself a favor and stay away from them, that is not the way to runs business.

Received a $50 credit for my 1 night stay so I'll live with that and be very careful in the future.
I googled the Quality Inn & Suites in Petawawa to book a room. A website popped up with the URL qualityinnpetatawa.guestreservatations.com. So I clicked on it and got the number *******732 which I called. I told the agent I needed a King room at the military rate which is 25% off. The hotel is outside of the military base. The agent seemed perplexed about this so I thought that she was new so I gave her all the rate information because it is my usual hotel. I thought I was talking to the front desk! The taxes she quoted was crazy normally $17 CAD it was 64(USD), close to 88CAD. Normally I pay 149.16 CAD but go a bill on my MasterCard of 265 dollars! I decided to take it up with the hotel front desk person but when I arrived she told me she could not help or even give me a receipt because it was a 3rd party reservation. She never told me that it was a 3rd party booking or that the currency was in USD. Okay, I went through feeling defrauded, scammed, embarrassed and mad. I have put in a charge back request to MasterCard. They called getaroom and gave me their complaint number to see if it can be resolved. They said if it can't then they will refund me 100% of my money but all I want is a reasonable refund from getaroom, I paid over 40% more than usual! I don't want something for nothing but not raped either. As a Canadian Military Veteran maybe a bit of respect could be shown here.

Do not book through Getaroom! Please save yourself the headache! I don't write reviews but because of the extreme poor service and issues I have had to deal with I don't want others to go through the headache. Long story short Getaroom uses one of their Creditcards to pay the hotel reservation and then Getaroom withdraws this amount from your credit card. Getaroom credit card was denied so I had to pay for the hotel directly despite Getaroom with drawling the total amount from my credit card! I ended up paying for the room twice. Customer service didn't even address the issue. Getaroom is all about making money and does not care about quality customer service! Do not use them.

A bad link sent me to Lexington, KY instead of Lexington, VA. I noticed my mistake after booking since the address didn't appear until then. I cancelled within 4 minutes. The consumer service refused to refund me any money

What a scam. If the hotel you are booking uses GETAROOM.COM, STAY AWAY.
They are a 3rd party. I got double charged, and they wouldn't fix it. Ended up having to go through the hassle of disputing it with credit card.
Get a room is a SCAM.
I told them at time of booking that I wanted to pay cash at hotel, which I did. They charged my card and refused to return it, even though I paid at hotel

Booked a hotel in UK which for some reason ended up with Getaroom. Due to Covid we had to cancel hotel rooms booked for a wedding in June. We cancelled in April and to date we have received no replies to our many emails or a refund. The hotel booked is aware and they do not plan to open until September so even if the wedding had gone ahead we could not have stayed there and they have agreed that refund is due. The service we have received and the lack of communication is disgraceful. WARNING DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!

I had an issue but I could not figure out and didn't understand what was going on. After leaving a review, the customer service representative called me and walk me through why things happen the way they did and also listen to to my concerns, and very promptly came up with a solution. Based off of the customer service she provided I most definitely recommend this company.

Due to the coronavirus we have had to change our travel plans several times. GetARoom staff made it an easy and satisfying experience. Before rebooking, I checked prices on several sites as well as calling the hotel directly and GetARoom prices were far below the others.

I looked for a room online and the total with tax was $600. I just looked at my bank statement and they charged me $197 in fees! WTF?! I will never do this again. However, after posting this review I received a call from customer service and they credited back the fees. Good redemption. Still pay attention to the details of your charge.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
