I was redirected to their website. The room rates are comparable to other sites. But then you have fees that are almost more than what you're paying for the room. Tried to call customer service with no resolution. Wanted to cancel. Asked why their taxes are so much more than other websites. Got no answers. It's a scam!

I booked a one night stay at a top hotel in sydney for our wedding "mini-moon". The booking process was easy and i received confirmation. I checked my emails again 30 mins later and i had received a CANCELLATION notice for the room. I had not cancelled anything. I don't know why my booking was cancelled. I had to re-book a room through the hotel and pay more. Not sure i would recommend this service. Still waiting for my refund.

I was calling to change a room that I had already booked and paid for to another person name within our organization. I simply wanted to put a different individual on the room receipt to reprint. This was not handled and never sent to me.

Do not ever do business with this company. They are an absolute scam. They mimic the original hotel site and then you end up on their page. The have a no cancellation policy even if you want to a month before the trip. This is a bad faith company that will charge you unnecessary fees. The are disgusting, money hungry, deceptive, and not to be trusted. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. I have an email I'm which I attempted to cancel and they said that I did not make an attempt. Do not use this company.

I booked a room with this site for a weekend getaway, at first they were unwilling to work with me to credit my account based on a very serious medical emergency in my family, however, they were able to remedy the situation.

I booked 2 rooms for 3 days I needed to cancel just 1 day they told me they couldn't cancel just 1 day they had to cancel all 3 and rebook it and I might not get the reservation back This company is the biggest Joke ever please stay clear of them you will be very disappointed if you do business with them.

Book a room then my flight was canceled. I called the hotel directly who said they would refund me. When I called bookaroom.com to cancel they refused to. DO NOT USE THIS this website.

I recently made a booking with a hotel in Edinburgh. I thought I was booking direct with the hotel, but as I found out later this was not the case. I was enticed by what appeared to be a cheaper rate. However when the confirmation came through I found that I had been charged $1400 for two nights accommodation! This was around $500 per night plus an additional $500 in tax recovery charges and service fees. This seems outrageous and I feel as though I've been scammed. I contacted the Hotel immediately by email and later by phone and was told that that that there was nothing that they could do to help me. I feel the booking process was not clear. Please be aware everyone.

I was shopping for a room for a stay at a motel and getaroom showed the lowest price. When I finished the booking price the final price was $50.00 more than the quoted price. I immediately called customer service and was told I could cancel and get a refund. My credit card statement shows they refunded the $50.00 but kept the room charge. I have reviewed their refund policy and it shows I would have had to cancel the reservation at 1:00 AM even though I didn't place the reservation until 9:30AM.

Big scam. Asked to be put into a SPECIFIC hotel - family funeral members were all staying at. They booked us into another - even after we stated the name several times. After confirming email we noticed it was not the correct hotel. Tried to get our money back, no deal. I would never recommend this company.
Also representative spoke terrible English.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
