I was quoted $206 for a two queen bed room for one night ok understandable it's a nice hotel. No they charged me a "tax and fee" that totaled my card charge to $336! They refused to refund me or cancel my room I was never even given the option to approve this amount, I have three young children and now have to borrow money for the rest of the way home because this SCAM stole the rest of my budget! If I could give them negative stars I would!

This is the first negative review that I have ever written. Do Not Book a Room with this Company. I used them to book a 4 nights stay at the Hotel Nolinski in Paris. I needed to check out of the Hotel early due to personal reasons. I contacted getaroom.com about my early check out and was told that I need to speak to the hotel directly and find out what their cancellation policy is. I was told by the hotel that I would only incur a one night stay as a cancellation policy. The Hotel only charged getaroom.com for two nights and informed me that I should receive a refund from getaroom.com for the last two nights. Getaroom.com ended up charging me for my whole stay and will not issue a REFUND. When I contacted the company I was told that was not their policy and I am responsible for the full stay. They should have informed me of their policy when I contacted them to cancel my reservation. I would not have checked out of the hotel. They deserve NO STARS. WORST EXPERIENCE!

DO NOT book a room with this company! SCAM! The cancellation policy is that you must cancel on the day that you make the reservation or you are screwed. This was NOT clear when booking. On top of that, they charges me almost $100.00 in fees! I thought I was making my reservation through the H Hotel but when I called to cancel due to a family emergency they said I had to call this company. The customer service agent I spoke to was heartless and rude. I have never had such a horrible experience with hotel cancellations.

I had to cancel my reservation since the customer care booked the room in different state with same city name. Gave her all the landmarks while making the reservation but still made the mistake. Told Ms. Maria to cancel it on the same call and was transferred to customer care and was on hold for 53 min. They told me they will check the recordings to work on refund.
Attempted x2 by calling them. Now they don't have the recordings of my call. So I was charged for someone's negligent job and I am totally dissatisfied with the experience and she ruined my trip. Please be aware and careful..

I had booked a room at a place back in March. I was charged over 55% of the room charge for some Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees. Today, I needed to add another room and checked the pricing. The same charges and fees are now less than 30% of the room charge (same price for the rooms). Back when I made the original reservation, I did not pay attention to the ridiculous fees, but after seeing how they changed so much it makes me question what the heck are these fees for?

I was unable to travel due to testing positive for covid. Doing the responsible thing, I called the hotel and Getaroom to cancel my reservation and was advised that as long as I submitted proof, I would receive a refund. The proof was submitted immediately, and I called in to make sure it was all good - it was. Fast forward a week and I call back, noting that I hadnt received an update (was told 2 business days), and they said to call the hotel to get the name of someone at the front desk to verify that I did indeed let them know and to call back. I have done this song and dance over 6 times now, no resolve. I've asked for my case to be escalated/to speak with a manager on 3 occasions to be told that no one is available.
DO NOT book a room through this company - use expedia or equivalent instead.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
