Looking through my closet I can across two Free People tops, one worn 2or 3 times not washed yet & one NEVER worn w shreds in them from just hanging there, nothing else in the closet had any damage.
I wish I could say the products aren't worth it or poor quality but FREE PEOPLE won't even let me order! I was "influenced" and decided to purchase- within a few minutes- get an email my "account is restricted- order cancelled"
I thought maybe I put in wrong info or something - tried again- same thing! And again a month later! All my emails completely ignored so I still have no answer as to why. Now I'm in my 50's, high end shopper, with excellent credit- I order way too much without returning so I guess it's FREEPEOPLE's loss - lol
Only got a response when I tweeted them publicly- but no resolution- they said they would email me -

My whole life I never allowed myself to buy any name brand clothes. I finally convinced myself I deserved a few things! I spent over $600 at free people and I got 7 of my co-workers to buy their one shot hot onesie as well (by showing off my own) so overall over $1000. 4 of the items I bought myself either ripped within the 1st hour of me wearing them or had the stitching unraveling. So I reached out to free people to give them the opportunity to make it right… they offered me 15% off my next purchase ($10) that's it…. Highly disappointed.
Ordered a pair of shoes 3 times and they send the wrong size every time, even after "verifying with the warehouse" that they were in stock. What a waste of time.
Avoid at all costs. It's impossible to talk to customer service. They put you on hold forever. Too much hassle for online purchase
I placed an order recently and an hour later they cancelled my order due to "restrictions on your account" 1 I rarely shop at free people this maybe my 3rd time shopping there, the very first time i shopped there i returned a romper and their customer team didnt refund me because they said it wasnt the same item, in which if they actually look at their merchandise it was but that issue was 2011. I had to look at their reviews to see their response to online complaints, one person in particular they told her they were deactivating her account from online purchase but she would be welcome to buy in store, i assume thats probably what theyve done to my account as well
Free People has quite literally the worst online customer experience I've ever encountered. I ordered something in December and was sent the wrong item. I reached out to CS to let them know and they said they would ship the correct item which never arrived. I then was issued a second unauthorized charge in March for the item they sent that I DID NOT ORDER. After speaking to customer service multiple times to get this charge removed, it is clear that their strategy is to bully you until you are tired of fighting. Not shopping at this franchise any longer.
I order so much from this company online and I am not going to any longer. I have worked for retail companies they actually carry and can't believe how horrible the return policy and customer service is. The quality and merchandise has been lacking for quite some time now. Time to spend my money elsewhere.

I have talked to customer service a few times now so they have been unorganized and rude no apologize for the items they have sent me that was a wrong item so which it Ff fault
I returned the wrong item to them wasted my time after they sent it back after they told me to return it and everything will be taken care off so obviously not because whoever processed it did not know what the heck is going on
After that I had to waste again my time and this rude customer service kept talking over me until I had to stop her and never apologized for the wrong processing they did
Again i had to print yet another label return the item to them and hope for the best

Love the clothes but be careful when ordering online. I was just sent a pair of clearly used pants…I have 4 other colors of the same. The pants I was sent were worn, washed, dried - and shrunken pants (supposed to be dry cleaned). It was very obvious. It is also the third time I have been sent used clothes that have been retagged and sold as new, or I would say it's a fluke.
The movement is that this company is very very poor in Customer Service. I ordered an expensive item on 3/18/23. I had an estimated delivery date of 3/26/23. Never received the item. I called to inform the company, Free People. The Rep said to call back in a couple of days. I did that. The second Rep said to call back in a day. I did that. The third Rep said to call back the next day. I did that. I am getting the runaround. No one will help me. I even went to their Corporate and complained. I get nowhere. All I want to know is where my order is or give me a refund. Is that too much to ask? No, I do not think so. Macy's and Nordstrom have way better customer service. You all need to attend their school of excellent Customer Service.
I will never order from Free People again! Ordered two outfits on 3/15 still haven't received it, tracking updates stopped after it sat in the facility in my town for over 7 days. Now they are saying it's lost and that they can't guarantee a resolution. That I wont receive an answer for 72 business hours and that they can't guarantee it will be reshipped. I asked for a refund since they can't come up with an answer and they said that can't happen right now either. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told the exact same thing. So I paid $150 for an item I haven't received and can't get my money back! Unacceptable and extremely poor customer service!
This company has been a nightmare to deal with. It took over a month to even receive these children's sized pants and when I wanted to return I had to pay my own shipping and given an address. I paid the shipping, sent the pants and have not be issued a refund. I return to the chat and told they don't have my order. I copied the email to show and last conversation, still no refund. This company is overpriced garbage and horrible customer service.
Free people is now allowing other stores to sell on their site for instance the shop called Love Rocks Vintage Do not buy from this second party store. It is not coming from free people it is a totally different seller I received a jacket that was dirty smells so bad I had to get it out of my house. This should not be on the free people site. I thought I was ordering from free people. They will not let me return it and free people will not stand behind it. It's so wrong that they are allowing this company to advertise and sell on their web sit.

Just tried to make a purchase and found my account is locked - they are telling me I failed to return an item from May 2022! In fact I returned the item with the postage label they provided! I have return confirmation from them and also klarna ( both received in June 2022). Heard nothing about this apparent problem until today - no email, no call, contact!
They also said they tried to take payment again from my card for the failed return! THAT WOULD BE THEFT and thankfully didn't get authorised!
Appalling customer service from such a large corporation. Im told my account is blocked with urbn, anthropologie and a list of others. NO PROBLEM I WOULDN'T EVER CHOOSE TO SHOP WITH YOU AGAIN!

The order was ok, quality wasnt as good for the price. 289$ for 2 pants and 1 top on the app it doesnt tell you its usd so that was a shock, and then customs charged me 90$ at the post office. I would say for the price total rip off would have rather ordered off anywhere else tbh
I bought a top that I really like, from a Free People in Napa. I decided to order a few things because there isn't a shop nearby. I was informed that my package was delivered. It wasn't. I called them and was told to wait 48 hours before calling them. Still no package. Called and was told they would cancel my order and I could try to reorder.
Wow, so not what I wanted, as I planned to take these items on vacation next week. I don't understand how lying is an accepted way to do business-
Very bad experience with customer service. ANQUATTE Cust service supervizor doesn't even know how to approuch the customer. Her knowledge is equel to 0.

Answer: Free People's Corporate office and Customer Service heads tie the hands of their representatives. It's awful and I wouldn't ever shop there, again. Too much hassle and disrespect to their customers. They charged me almost $500 for my order; sent an email telling me it had been delivered; it had NOT been delivered! I'd shop elsewhere. Just check all of the horrible reviews. Wish I'd done that before ordering. Good luck.
