Bought $500 boots that fell apart after 3 wears and they said "we are really sorry" They didn't offer any kind of follow through with their product.
Delivery service seems unable to identify a simple address in the heart of California - if you don't live in the States, don't even bother ordering from this company, they will never find your address anyway. Customer helpline was unhelpful and underwhelming, told me to "wait" for their internal investigation, never got back to be with their findings/conclusions, never explained what happened with my package, never explained what had happened. I "got" a refund which has not arrived yet. Having such bad delivery service says a lot about a company - if these are their delivery standards, clothing quality is unlikely to be at a high standard. In conclusion: just order an Amazon dupe - cheaper, faster and more reliable customer service.
I have purchased so many clothing items from Free People for over ten years. Love the style but hate the quality! I have purchased mostly everything for full price and there's an expectation when you are paying full price. I had a leather jacket, well I thought it was leather that I wore in public recently and all the leather start flaking off the jacket shedding onto my clothing. I. Ever realized that it was a thin layer of sone type of synthetic. The jacket was around $480.00. Last evening I took my favorite handbag that was suede, and lightly used and I had to have my husband stop the car as the chunks of suede were adorning my black outfit. This handbag was $150.00. My clothing is maintained in a home that stays between 68 and 70 degrees year round. I'll be honest with you I never expected this to happen and I love the style dearly, but I must say I will not be back to shop due to quality concerns.
Online shipping delivery is an entire mess. Packages are so dirty it's Shame. They receive orders they don't have in stock play gamble with low stock orders and sometimes u get in a month or u don't get at all or lost or some something. Customer service is useless and full of lies. Keep giving the go around and waste your time bout to delete the app and forget about them not worth the stress. They have lost 2 packages and failed

I returned an unused $100 free people belt with tags attached that they received on 8/25/23. They have still not returned my payment to me. They sent an email stating they had received it and stated they were working to refund me as quickly as possible. Not true. I interacted with possibly a free people bot that was supposed to be a representative that stated it would be maybe 15 days to return my money. Their return policy does not make any such statement.I have read better business bureau reviews regarding free people online returns having many issues with free people refusing to return payments to their customers. I've been a loyal free people customer for years and have a closet filled with their clothes. I will no longer support the company with my business, as they have made no attempt to support me as a valued customer

I ordered the All Star Solid Pullover in black on the app for $99. When I received the product the tag price was $88. I called customer service and the lady said to email them with a picture of the tag and my order number. Still waiting to hear from them. Just be careful when buying online or on the app. They charge more!
I have had to mend tears and holes in 4 items of clothing thst I bought. I liked the style...and even the price was ok to deal with...but I expected top of the line quality. Don't buy!
I have made a few purchases from FP and was definitely not worth what they charge. The sizing is never consistent and the quality of the clothing is poor at best. Some of the workout wear looks great on the model in the ad, but after ordering according to their sizing scale, it is a bad fit and the material is frayed. I will stick with what I know and what is consistent.
Although I'm a repeat customer, Free People cancelled my order of +$300. I used the same payment method, and billing and delivery address were the same. I didn't see the cancelation email that FP sent because as soon as you place an order, you're inundated with their emails. I received 10...yes TEN emails over the course of 3 days...ridiculous! And that's why Apple invented "hide my email", to protect users from marketing madness like this. When I did find the cancellation email from FP, it gave me quite a homework assignment. I needed to contact my credit card co. And collect authorization info, and then contact PayPal to also get an authorization number from them. I was then to take all of this and email it back to FP, all for the PRIVILEGE of paying them +$300! When I contacted FP fraud department about this, they could not show me enough through their words and actions how little they cared about me as a customer. There was no apology for the inconvenience, there was no offer to place the order again, nor was there an offer for a discount on future purchases. Also, when I did find the cancellation email, it looked totally suspicious, including a phone number that I could not find anywhere on the FP site. Clearly FP does not value me as a customer and I have gotten that message loudly and clearly. I'll be happy to take my +$300 and shop somewhere where I'm treated as a valued customer. There's an old saying in business: anyone can make a one-time sale, but a business's livelihood DEPENDS on repeat customers. From all of these reviews here, it seems I'm not the only one. Adios Free People. Glad to be Free of you!
Ordered a gift card that should have been delivered in one hour….6 days later, still not there. Contacted them to be told that it was on hold for verification. No one contacted me!
Customer service sucks here'
I have been a customer for several years...no problems. Recently I purchased a beautiful artisan necklace but had to return it due to dainty chain not being my style. I have been talking to customer service now for weeks trying to get my refund and even though I have proof from tracking that the return made it back...they have no record of item being checked in. I suddenly realized today that they think I sent back an empty box which explains their curt behavior with me on the phone. It had to have been stolen from one of their own employees working in the Warehouse. They said the only thing I can do is contact my bank and that I am basically out the $300 store credit I used on item as well.
I will no longer be doing business with this company and I urge others to think twice before ordering as well.
I purchased an item - the entire way through the purchase I was told the same price, later to find I was charged in USD (I live in Australia). I wrote to customer service thinking I'd made a mistake and told them that it must have been because I accidentally used the US site. Not once was I corrected, they let me believe it was my mistake for not finding the Australian site.
I am aware there is a US site - which is why I searched for Freepeople Australia and found what I thought to be, and what is advertised to be an Australian site. I made another purchase and was once again advertises one price yet charged another. I contacted customer service again and only this time did they fess up and say that there is no such thing as an Australian site. I sent them pictures of the website which states it's Australian, I was given a pathetic "sorry this happened", and no explanation as to why I wasn't corrected the last time this happened so that I didn't make the same mistake again. Customer service took no responsibility for the fact that their multiple websites are misleading, or that their customer service didn't inform me as to why this happened the first time, leading me to make a similar mistake the second time. Now I'm stuck with a dress that was advertised at $77, but $118 was taken from my account. I feel intentionally misled/scammed, that the price was falsely advertised on an Australian website which still uses USD.
Unfortunately I am adding another company to my boycott list. Free People needs to decide if they are selling clothing or sexual toys. Last week I went to check out and on the ""add-on"" list was a vibrator! I canceled my order until Free People get back to the basics of smart fashion company.
I been a loyal customer at free people, but they don't value that. Customer service makes it harder. I ordered a skirt that never arrived!

I've been shopping at free People for the past two years and shop very often & recently submitted a return for two items but they only issued a refund for one so I contacted CS and was told that my return was already processed but they still owed me money. I opened a claim with PayPal and it was closed in my favor and $ was issued to me. I then tried to put another order but it was cancelled a few minutes later & received an email saying that my account has been restricted. Just after the claim with PayPal! This is RETALIATION!
Never had the most difficult ridiculous returning policy to deal with besides free people. Its insane how expensive free people market is without any returning service. I have to pay for returning, and finding out how it works cost me litteraly more then an hour. Also the chat gave me the wrong adress and when i called the netherlands store they gave me another adress. So untrustworthy and like they made it so difficult to return in the hope and manipulation you as a costumer give up and just keep the item. Never again for me buying on free people. Shame
I have been purchasing clothing online from Free People for the past 6 years. I have not had a bad experience with shipping, refunds or communication. I have only had to call customer service twice and both times my issue was not only addressed quickly but I also received a discount for my trouble on my next purchase. I have a whole closet full of Free People clothing and I love every item.
I am very upset with Free People, I ordered a couple pair of shorts June 21, one pair was placed on back order and not expected until August 7. The other pair of shorts say they were delivered. No package has arrived at my home address. I have been in contact with them and all they will do is investigate to locate the shorts and if not located I will receive a refund in 3 days. REALLY! Did I place the order to go through this and not even get what I ordered and pay CC interest on an item that I will never have. Next big question is am I going to have fight for a refund and will I ever receive the other pair of shorts or have to go through this once again. VERY Bad business for expensive priced clothing. Unbelievable!
Answer: Free People's Corporate office and Customer Service heads tie the hands of their representatives. It's awful and I wouldn't ever shop there, again. Too much hassle and disrespect to their customers. They charged me almost $500 for my order; sent an email telling me it had been delivered; it had NOT been delivered! I'd shop elsewhere. Just check all of the horrible reviews. Wish I'd done that before ordering. Good luck.
