I joined a queue of people arguing that Delpaso Car Hire in Malaga should conform to their quote from Economy Car Hire. I was told "of course you cant have a car for that price" etc... Car cost more. Insurance was more. Told my yearly excess insurance would not cover the excess. Wanted £3000 debited from my credit card 'just in case' (so I couldn't use my own insurance!).
I know Spanish Car hire is a nightmare but Economy Car Hire should sort this or clear out of the market.
Its also really difficult to put a review on their website. Well I tried +++ but that may just be me.

For my last vacation I rented two cars through Economycarrentals for Malaysia and Abu Dhabi. In Malaysia I rented a Nissan six months before. They gave me a Proton, while the Nissan is 200 EUR more expensive. I contacted Economycarrentals. They didn't help me or came with a solution. I was on my own. In Abu Dhabi I had the same problem. I rented a Mercedes E-class/BMW 5 serie/ Audi A6. Economycarrentals reserved a Chevrolet and they booked the car for one day and I made a reservation for nine days. The car didn't even had an navigation system and I paid for that (even in Malaysia). Before I arrived in Abu Dabhi, Economycarrentals guaranteed that I would get a Mercedes/BMW/Audi. The best part was is that the agent didn't have any German car in stock. I contacted Economycarrentals again and they couldn't help me. Even the agent tried to contacted them but Economycarrentals didn't even pick up the phone. The service of Economycarrentals is HORRIBLE. Stay away from them! They are frauds and liars! Even other car rentals doesn't want them as agent!

I have rented my car via the service economycarrentals.com with the full insurance package but they've never insured me or paid back the fees after a real accident...

When you book with these kind of "low rate company", you have to pay the excess fee in advance to the car agency and they are supposed to reimbourse you this fee if in case you have an accident.

But in my experience, economycarrentals.com is not honnest with their insurance package. They basically never paid me back what I was supposed to receive. They probably insure themselve on their own without an insurance company, so the result is that they need to pay as less as possible and rip off as much customers as possible!

Here is more information on how my (bad) adventure happened:

I had an accident during my holidays, so the renting company took the full amount of the excess fee and said that economycarrentals.com will reimbourse me as I took the insurance. In reality, I had some contact with them but they were asking unrelevant questions and ask me to send the files and said they never received it. Their goal is to continue until the customer abondon its claim. Which I did after one year of going back and on and back,...

Basically, if you really want to save the extra money, my advise would be:

1.Don't do it with economycarrentals.com
2. If you really have to; take the additional insurance from the renting company and not the one from economycarrentals.com (which is a trap)

We have booked with this company before but this year having booked for 25 days in France to commence 27/05/18.
Picked up car although not valeted from Avis Budget in Avigion.
I was asked at the desk if I wanted excess and other types of insurance cover added. I said no as I have an annual policy every year in England to cover all bases.
The car was quoted by economycarentals at £287 six weeks before my intended journey, which was very reasonable and was as usual asked to pay a hire deposit of 210 which I duly paid as this is the the procedure I have always used before.
On my return I received my final statement from Avis Budget for 337. No reduction for the deposit I had paid?
I have spent 1 month now chasing my deposit.
Avis Budget say no extra insurance was applied to my account and no pre payment voucher has been received.
Economy car say that the 210 was used to cover the insurance I agreed to. Although my pre payment voucher says 210 final payment for hire amounts.
Nowhere does it state that this payment was to pay for insurance. I have no idea who if anybody insured me without my knowing. I have no insurance policy stating what Im covered for? I have no receipt for insurance cover only car hire.
So the whole experience smacks of PPI!
So for a car hire that was quoted at 287 I have paid 547.
My complaint is still ongoing with both companies. I will never ever use them again and I am a regular hirer.

Zálohu jsme zaplatili převodem před půjčením. Poté, co jsme dorazili do cílové destinace, nám auto nezapůjčili a peníze nevrátili. Nikdo se s námi nebavil a nikdo nám nepomohl. Zůstali jsem s dětma bez auta a nakonec odjeli taxíkem. Této společnosti se vyhněte obloukem!

After you have signed up they pretend you do not have a contract with them, Well you certainly have not signed up with anybody else so this is the first part of you being conned. They claim in bold red letters that their car rental partner will meet you with you name on a sign. No one to meet me, no sign, no name, no shuttle service to rental station, no car. Credit card debited with excess premium cover. Cost of taxi to local destination in Zakynthos 30 Euro.

I was foulish to rent from this company without searching for reviews. I got to the airport in Bucharest, a guy was waiting for me and told me he has to drive me to the rental place, outside of the airport. We got to this hole in the wall where he told me that he will have to block $5000 on my credit card in case of damage. Also he told me that the $5000 will be held 30 days after I return the car. Additionally he tried to sell me extra insurance liability coverage, although I already paid for a full coverage through Orbitz. When I started to get agitated about it, he told me to wait outside as he has another costumer. I guess he was afraid I would scare someone else away. I decided to just leave, return to the airport and get a legit car rental company. I strongly suggest everyone stays away from economy car rental!

I waited 45 minutes go get my car even though they had 3 agents at the counter. They forced me to purchase liability insurance at $15 per day even though I carry insurance but did not have my card on me. I offered to have them call my agent and even try the web site for my insurer, but they refused. I've never had that problem at any other car rental agency.

Do not rent from Economy Rental Car Costa Rica, we were charged over 3 times the amount agreed to on line before arrival... mandatory liability insurance they called it. We booked a 4 wheel drive Jimny and they switched it with a Hyundai model which could not easily handle the dirt roads we had to travel. When we returned the car the employee at the office told us the car looked fine and he initalled the form and sent us happily to the airport. 2 weeks later they charged my credit card over $1300. 00 for damages and didn't tell me, I didn't realize until 4 weeks after the drop off when I received an email showing the invoice and photos of "a" car that certainly was not the one we dropped off which we had just had professionally cleaned. It was dirty and had damage and a dent. We had no dents, damage or dirt on the car when we returned it. They bait and switch at first then fraudulently charge you for damage you did not do. DO NOT rent from Economy Rental Car, San Jose Airport location Costa Rica

The company is just dirty thieves! They are intermediaries. Received cars do not meet the requirements. The car class is lower. For full insurance it is necessary to pay extra, although it is that it is included in the payment. Take extra money from the card without specifying the reasons. Do not give out received!
Do not use their services!

Attention is crooks.
January 2, 2018

Attention is crooks. They declare full insurance with zero excess in Cyprus and on the spot it turns out to be untrue. I note that the ECR's zero excess was not to be guaranteed by the ECR only by the Enterprise in Cyprus under this agreement. ECR collected only additional money for insurance of mirrors, windows and chassis. And the excess in the amount of EUR 600 was for all car damage. ECR does not respond to emails.

I made an online booking on this Website.
It was fully confirmed and I had a voucher.

When I arrived to rent my car, the local rental company told me that they didn't have a car available for me and that they told already economycarrental about it.
They gave me proof that they did.

Result:
No car for me and I already paid online the fees for the booking (not the rental fees, the booking fees).
I had to urgently get a car from another local company around me and costed me 3 times the original price.

I contacted economy car rental to make a claim 3 months ago, never had a single answer from them...

Economy Car Rental
December 18, 2017

When I have arrived to GOLDCAR desk at Catania airport I was strongly advised to do not proceed with the reservation made through EconomyCarRentals, since a very basic insurance cover was included and that was not enough for Sicily (they said). Instead I was asked to pay 246,20 euros for a full coverage. Otherwise I should pay a deposit of 4600 euros, if I wanted to keep the voucher from EconomyCarRentals.
Since I was never informed I should pay that huge amount as deposit if I wanted to keep this service, I have decided to look for cheaper services elsewhere. That was considered as a no show, and EconomyCarRentals deducted a fee from my credit card.

Normally I have had great success with EconomyCarRentals, but my first bad experience shows that they do not resolve problems well. I had reserved a car in Jerusalem City Center for 4 days. I paid Economy their deposit and they provided me their voucher. Problem is that the Budget rental car company in Jerusalem would not honor it since they said I was a "no-show." I was there exactly to the minute of the agreement. I found out that Economy had made a computer error booking my reservation a month earlier than the contracted time and making it for 33 days. I then had to take same day rate for the only car left there or anywhere and have to pay half again more than the voucher. Economy had no phone they answer. I informed them by email within a week including all of the paperwork showing them their error. I requested the difference between the voucher and what I paid. They said to give them a few weeks, which I did. It has now been six months with emails every month. They don't deny the problem, but they pass the buck to the Budget or act like they don't understand how such a thing could happen. Either way I made a contract with them and their voucher was worthless because of their input error. Still no resolution. I think the keep putting their head in a hole hoping it will go away or I will die waiting. A mark of a good company is how they handle problems. This is a black and white very objective problem. I am surprised especially since I am (or should I say was) a big fan of theirs.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY SERVICES, BECAUSE YOU'LL HAVE BAD HOLIDAYS. If something happens with a car, you'll have a lot of problems with insurance. In other words, you pay for the insurance, but in reality you're not insured.
We've rented a car in Sicily through this system and "Sicily by car". We had full insurance with excess. When wheel caps were stolen, company charged us for 280 Euro and Economy Car Rental doesn't refund money.
It turns out there are a lot of exceptions, so you're not safe neither from theft (TP) nor from collision (CDW), even if the voucher says differently. All exceptions are hidden in terms of other insurance. Also, you need to wait answers for days, you need to call, but after that they just ask to resend your email. It seems that they want to delay your issue solving.
So I do not reccomend this company. Avoid if possible. You could rent a car "economically", but after an accident you'll have a lot of non economically problems.

Short story: economycarrentals.com costs your time and money for nothing!

Long story:

I rent a car through the website and was charged. When I tried to collect the car, the provider tried to gave me a wrong car which is not usable for me. I reject it and she refused to give me a reasonable time to fix it. I have to find another car from another rental company.

I then wrote the economycarrentals.com to complain. Twice, no replay! Then I went to live chat. The guy on the other end is really slow. It took more than 30 minutes without a result. I figured that the guy was just trying to troll me. Here is the conversion.

Just in case you cannot find my email. Here it is: xxxxxx
I have been waiting for 10 minutes. How long do you need to figure this out? If it takes long time, can you reply my email within 24 hours?

Let me check. One moment please.

Hello?
It has be more than a week! When do you think you can fix this?
I already send 2 but no reply!
Our customer service will investigate your complaint and you will get an aswer from us.

OK. Can you please send us your complaint to the email address *******@economycarrentals.com?

But I have 3 people.
They made a mistake and got a wrong car, which can only hold two people.
May I ask the reason? Did you get an explanation from ATLAS regarding their refusal to provide you with a car?

Yes.

Is that what you want?
This is order number

What is your voucher number please?

Hi, I booked a car through your website and was partially charged. But the car provider, namely ATLAS, was not able to provide the car. Can you refund me?
