Nerve wrecking experience trying to hire a car for Norway. NEVER AGAIN
Ordered class of cars not available - price increase.
Questions per mail not answered, just unfriendly, unqualified reply, no further feedback.
Callcenter personnel friendly, but party limited competence.
Took 10+ calls with booking group and local car rental to get confirmed that the booking that was confirmed was not possible (due to questions/concerns asked per mail 4 weeks ahead but never got feedback).
At least refund of deposit went without problems in the end.

Bait and switch is right. I booked a Mercedes E Class back in February for our honeymoon in June for 711.00 USD. When I contacted them to review my reservation they said it would be 1600. 00 because it is during the "hot season". I already had a voucher for the Mercedes E Class from Economy Bookings for 711.00 USD but they would not honor it. They told me they could get me a Hyundai Genesis for 900.00. HA! I went from a Mercedes for the 711.00 to a Hyundai Genesis for 900.00. Bait and switch? Definitely. I would not trust this company.

When we arrived at the Kona airport, Dollar Rent a Car said our confirmed booking was invalid. The reason given was that the voucher was only valid for non US and Canadian citizens. There is nothing in the webforms or confirmation letter about this. On the web form, it asks for our home
Address, and that was clearly specified as being from Canada. We have

That it is only valid for European citizens.

Forced to not have a vehicle during our vacation which would have completely ruined it. This seems to be a consistent problem for people using Economy Bookings as Dollar Rent A Car had the speech prepared and a laminated info sheet.

EconomyBookings.com is nothing but a total scam of bait and switch.
From what I have gathered- they run different forms of bait and switch, but nonetheless- they have bait and switch written all over them.
I have completed my car rental with economybookings.com earlier today and have paid the full amount. My car is for the day after tomorrow- and tomorrow I will be traveling to my destination- namely SF, from NYC.
After having completed the order and paying in full, I have received an email that EconomyBookings.com cannot guarantee the car I "requested" is available, that my "request" still needs to be processed & I should hear back within 2 days whether the car is available or not. Needless to say- when EconomyBookings.com has charged me- that haven't placed a "request" to withdraw funds in the future pending on the availability of the car. They have simply charged me for a service I acquired. I didn't buy an "option" to use a service nor did I place a request. Clear as day. I have made a purchase.
I have attempted to call the company's different offices around the world, as well as BookingBuddy (where Economybookings.com was featured) & its holding company and I was not able to get any representative on the line.
I proceeded to write an email to EconomyBookings.com CCing different consumer protection organizations. I refuse to be a victim to a bait and switch scam. I have agreed to pay a set price for a specific car that appeared as available at a certain date at a specified location and EconomyBookings.com are obliged to provide exactly that.
If they wish to trade in options they should leave the car rental brokerage industry.
If EconomyBookings.com will not rectify the matter in a timely manner for no additional cost, I intend to take my issue with them further, along with other customers that were wronged by EconomyBookings.com (will post a link to a facebook group),
To not only file official complaints with Better Business Bureau and other agencies, but to voice our complaints online, on social media sites and other platforms, in a way that will cause EconomyBookings.com SUCH a PR headache, that not only prospective clients but also their affiliates- (car rentals, travel sites etc.) will run away from EconomyBookings.com like they would from a wild fire.
As consumers we have power and it is our right and our duty to use it.
Whereas a few decades ago only issues worthy of a legal action have gotten attention, these days we can use our voice to address more subtle semi-legal scams and to reward business that are fair and do right by their clients.

I've rented a car using economybookings for a rental in Madeira Airport on 11th of September. I've successfully received the car provided by SIXT. Unfortunately during the day, when I've parked the car in Funchal in a metropolitan paid parking space, a malicious person intentionally scratched the car on the driver door and left. I've announced immediately the security of the parking space and filled a complain at local police. Under those circumstances I've contacted economybookings and SIXT, and asked what to do. Economybookings never replied, SIXT replayed saying that they are not liable as well, and according to their procedures they asked 300 Euros for two minor scratches.

I paid for it, and asked a refund from economybookings.com, as I bought an Refundable Excess insurance from them. They admitted the claim and informed that the delay is due to SIXT not providing them a copy of invoice, even if I've sent them a copy of it. Lately they stopped totally responding and there one month from the moment I've submitted my claim.

Totally false company... never deal with them, and SIXT is supporting them

Do not book with this website or it will cost you way more than expected! We booked a car with them recently with unlimited mileage. This one an essential condition for us and it was CLEARLY stated on our booking voucher. However, when we went to the car dealer to get the car, we were told that our booking had been entered in their computer with limited mileage! We called Economybookings customer service to try to find a solution and were offered... to cancel our booking at no cost, and that was it! We had a wedding to go to and no backup plan. We had to rent the car with limited milegae and it cost us over twice as much as a result. We have hired a lawyer who is now in touch with them but they do not get back to him. The best of all: They send you your booking voucher via email and you have to click on a link to get it. We clicked on the link after the incident to print a new copy and they had changed the voucher, which now states limited mileage! Too bad for them, we had kept the copy of the original voucher, but this method shows how dishonest they are. STAY AWAY!

They charge money for nothing. On my case the car would have been the SAME price, if I would have rented it directly from sixt. The only advantage economybookings.com gives you, is a useless "voucher". Even the people from sixt didn't know, what it should be good for.
So I paid 44€ for a "booking fee".
My recommendation is to check the prices for the cars directly on the websites from the common renting companys in the country you want to go.

We chose economybookings.com to rent a car in Barcelona because there we found the most appropriate offer of all the website we've visited. We've rented a car via this website for the first time, but had no issues at all. We've easily found car rental desk at the Barcelona airport's terminal. Speaking of car – it was clean, with a full tank and without damages and scratches. And excatly the one that we've booked online, which was also a great advantage.
