I tried booking a car from Gatwick airport from greenmotion car hire via economybooking.com on 26th June 2018. The advert staed that I would have full accident waiver and comprehensive cover. I paid extra money for this benefit.
When I went to greenmotion they wanted an extra £20 per day for accident cover. Thier staff were very agressive in their sales pitch stating that if i did not purchase extra insurance they would find a scratch or speck when i returned vehicle and i would be fully charged. The office manager Debbie was also involved in this behaviour. Other customers were trying to cancel their contract in front of me. Debbie would not allow me to use wifi to contact economybooking.com at her office which is 10 minute drive from Gatwick airport. When I asked for my money back the manager said, " You booked through a third party. We do not recognise the insurance cover. We cannot reimburse you any money as we have not received any money from this company." I had to go back to Gatwick airport to obtain wifi so that I could contact economybooking.com. They informed me that I could not cancel contract as i had to give 24 hours notice. I went back to greenmotion to try and see if i could salvage something from the original agreement. Debbie the manager stated that my original car hire contract had been cancelled. If i wanted to hire a car they could do this but it would cost far more than the original car hire agreement. She was totally unhelpful. I had to take a bus to my destination as this was too stressful. I have been hiring vehicles from Gatwick airport for the past 30 years and have never had a problem. I would suggest you avoid greenmotion and economybookigs.com.
Tim the driver at greenmotion was very helpful and alleviated a lot of stress. Maybe he should be office manager. I would have thought with a little help we could have resolved this problem between greenmotion and economybooking...
I will always use the main strteam car hire companies from now on.

I gave you three stars because the receptionist did not explain to me that I could have use my own insurance to cover this car instead she told me that most people get their insurance to be covered. Only pointing this out on the form she showed me and had me sign later I read the back of it and it did say you may use your own insurance to cover this why didn't you show me this before I sign the paper or say this to me think that is very deceptive. I didn't know this is my first time renting a car so yes I'm very upset about that. I do know now!

We were told several different prices for our rental with nearly $100 variance. At first it was $212, then it was $267, then it was $187... and in the end $267 was taken out of my account. I never got a receipt like they said I would.
I wouldnt say I got ripped off, but I am not suprised that others have been taken advantage of. Dont use economy bookings there is something sketchy about it.

They really dont awnswer the email when you ask for refund! I did use this website before in US and I didnt have any problem but in Greece after do the booking I went to pick up the car but the person that was working in Goldencar rental at the Crete airport she deny to give me the car because she said that my driving license was not okay and because I didnt book with this company directly they just say no and that was it! No refund no explanation of anything! After ask to talk to manager she deny and said that I need and additional document which is not true vos I rented a car in Chania with same driving licence! This is really frustrating experience and of course a rip off! Im still watering for my money back without any response from EconomyBooking or that rent car company that I can tell they are horrible customer service.
Very easy booking site with good value. Tbis second time i used this booking site and were pleased. When compared to other booking sites it was quite difference in pricing.
They did not inform me about the type of cards that are accepted when booking a car; I have only discovered this after I received the rental voucher.
I called and had to cancel the rental since I did not have the type of card accepted (which the clerk omitted to inform me about when I booked the car); since the cancellation occurred because they misinformed me, I was supposed to be refunded full amount, but Economy Bookings not only did not, but every phone call i made in this respect was never answered.

Very good experience from the rental counter to the drop off lot. Everything went very smooth; I would use them again for my next car rental.
Went to the car rental company, Green Motion in Orlando Florida, who upped the price of the rental by 150$ on the spot (US! Which means 200$ Canadian funds!) and refused us the rental unless we purchased insurance, despite the fact both our credit card and personal auto insurance cover rental insurance. It seems that these two companies are working together on this scam (Economy and Green Motion).
Called my credit card immediately to dispute it, then economy bookings, who told me unless I pulled the dispute with the credit card company they wouldn't do anything about it. (Exact words "we may consider a partial refund if you cancel your dispute first".)
I'm looking into a class action suit over this, because obviously a lot of people have been scammed.

Answer: They do not just delay. When something goes wrong, they never intend to make good ony any of their promises: they do not call or write back, they do not follow up, and sure as hell they do not pay you anything unless you force them to, and that (in my experience) can only be done via the courts. This company is rotten and everyone should stay away from them.
Answer: Economy Booking is based in Europe and is impossible to deal with. I would never use them again. I got my money back (the down payment taken off at the time of booking) by using better Business Bureau and going after the US rental company.
