My order was supposed to arrive on 23 August and it was delivered 2 days late and even packaging was not good.
Be warned that Ebay is no longer safe for purchases. I bought a filter from veryniceproducts aka. Potence and never received it, eventhough usp tracking information said otherwise.
When I reached out to ebay and the vendor, they said go door to door and to take it up with USPS.
They basically stole from me. Took money without delivering goods. This is eBay and Paypals new position now. So do yourself a favor and do your purchases on stores like Amazon and Walmart. You will get your product with them.
Garbage people run this site. Horrible, horrible customer service. Problems galore and no one to help, just a condescending attitude of "all of us vs. you". My account was suspended after a half dozen bids on items I've already purchased were "cancelled" even though I had paid AND received them. Then they wanted a copy of my driver's license, which I provided. Still suspended due to suspicious activity. Stick with Amazon.
Sellers beware
Sellers beware! EBay moneyback guarantee allows buyers to claim anything they want about their purchase when they have buyers remorse and seller is responsible for paying return shipping. EBay debits you for outgoing shipping, return shipping, item cost and their fee! As a seller with 9 years of only 5 star ratings, they didn't even bother to give me an opportunity to defend myself. You can no longer call EBay. They might as well have tied me up and held a gun to my head because they robbed me, refunded seller all their money before I got item back so I am screwed.
My review was concerning eBay's " money back guarantee " to "buyers" which puts a burden on "sellers" for a potential loss of the sale, loss of money for item and shipping costs and potential loss of "seller's" item if not being mail returned after a " not as described " complaint is issues by " buyer".
I filed a complaint with the BBB. At that point eBay DID respond to my complaint. EBay AGREED to pay me for the price the original winning bid price of the watch. Yet before writing my complaint to the BBB. My appeal was closed and eBay allowed the "buyer" to keep the ( my) watch, and he got a refund for what he originally paid for the watch, because My account was debited the cost of the sale price of the watch. I appreciate eBay's reconsideration and only hope they will change their business model. As for me I'm onto to other companies of C2C potential where I won't sign up unless I like their business model. Without satisfaction from both parties of C2C sale/auction inventory will dwindle which does not make for a good experience for potential " buyers". There has to be a "Win Win" for both involved in C2C transactions.
Ebay buyers can return anything as long as they state "not as described" after the won bid sale. I sent proof to Ebay that buyer was wrong and dishonest in his rationale for a return. EBay still favored the buyer in the dispute. Then Ebay reversed their decision and favored me in the dispute. Then Ebay again reversed the decision and favored the "buyer". Buyer then was refunded what he paid for the watch and kept my watch. EBay did not assist me in getting my watch back. I lost the sale and my watch to Ebay's " money back guarantee " policy. Watch was brand new, worth $200. I will cancel my Ebay membership that I have had for years. Amazon and Etsy are just two of many new E commerce choices I have to switch over to. I wasn't aware of these draconian rules of Ebay that favors the buyer almost always. The internet is full of lawsuits and complaints regarding this very issue. Know that if buyer asks for a refund, you have 3 days to send them a prepaid shipping label to mail your item back to you. Yes YOU have to pay for the shipping cost to get your property back. And if you don't do this in time Ebay will close the case in the " buyers" favor. In my case Ebay was vacillating back and forth in it's decision in the case. Then suddenly closed the case refusing to open the case for arbitration of me getting my property item ( watch) back, or compensation. EBay representatives said " we never saw the item for sale, therefore we don't know the true condition of what your item of sale was in". And for this reason they have to take the word of the buyer that "not as described" statement from " buyer's " complaint is accurate.
This person stole $110 from me & I never got the item. Also ebay doesn't really help with this, just links in the website that being you back to nowhere. Do not buy from this seller or ebay at all.
I just purchased two items, both cost about $250 USD from the UK, to be shipped to Israel. They were from the same seller, but two separate transactions, about an hour apart.
I paid the same for shipping, except one went DHL, and the other with Royal Mail, which went through many many many stations until it was handed off to some cut-rate shipper that then handed it off to yet another cut-rate LMC. They did not notify us that they would NOT be delivering the package to us, but we had to go to a random pick-up point that they (not us) could choose.
We had no notification that it arrived other than me checking eBay, which said the package was delivered. It was NOT delivered. It was a mess and took more than a week to resolve.
I then ordered another item, surely to be my last, and the same thing... taking forever to arrive, and again, it's not being delivered, but going to a service point, 2 miles from my office.
I was easy to get gift card, and to redeem it didn't. Take long to received it about a week wish it.
I ordered a filter for my Stihl BG86 blower. The filter sent to me from China was not the same as shown in the ad. They want me to pay $50 to return a $20 item? Will cancel my ebay account ASAP.
Ebay has become the laughingstock of business. They do everything within their power to avoid being contacted so you can resolve an issue. I've never encountered such a joke of a company. Try dealing with their customer service people - it's impossible!
They do not publish an email or a telephone # so you can reach them. I will never buy anything from ebay again - and I feel truly sorry for their customers. - they're getting screwed!
GoodBye Ebay
Been using ebay for 10 years and loved it now with all the FEE changes ill never use it again. Why on earth do they think we will give them our Bank Details when there are other auction sites that we can use with paypal and many of them are even FREE.
These new changes are a Big Mistake Ebay and you are going to lose LOYAL Long time users/customers like myself,
Talk with PAYPAL and let us continue to make transactions like we have always done, Its not to late.
So I have written a review prior to this one but now I have more to let people know! Ebay is using a Managed Payment scheme now! Please know this, they are not managing your money. They have a third party involved that they do not tell you about up front! They have cost me a grand and now they are holding six hundred dollars and refusing to give it to me! I am not the only one they are doing this too either! Check out the phone conversations for yourself on our YouTube channel the truth! We have also turned them into the IRS and Better Business Bureau. We will also be posting their online chats as well! This is speaking from recent experience SELLERS BEWARE
I've been an ebay user in good standing with perfect feedback for over 20 years. I even excused a $2,000 loss years ago when they found in a seller's favor over an inoperable item I bought and returned. However, I currently refuse to do any buying or selling on ebay because they forced me to refund a large amount of money for an item I auctioned off, AFTER the winning bidder received the item. Did the winning bidder give me my money back? Nope. Is that ebay user still on eBay? Yep. Ebay has more rules and loopholes than any other similar platform and they WILL burn you if you deviate even a little bit.
Ordered an afghan they said was in good condition, arrived with two gaping holes. People like this should not be allowed on ebay. Sad they lie to people.
I have bought items on ebay several times already and never been scammed. The process of looking for the seller and the item I want feels ok to me, but I would like the interface to be a bit more convenient
Absolutely horrible company. I created and set up an eBay account today for a new business I started (skincare) and uploaded my products from my WIX site. About an hour (or less) later, I get an email stating they've suspended my account FOREVER because I'm a threat to the community. What?! Is my sea salt scrub rubbing the community the wrong way?! Of course, all you get from customer service is copy/paste BS and they refuse to tell you anything. I offered to send over my business documentation, etc... but nope. And the copy/paste responses are terribly RUDE. You'd think they would write a kinder script that says "FU". I hope they don't start surveilling my house and sending me bloody pig masks like they are currently being sued for. I hope they lose everything.
I bought a motorbike crankshaft from eBay online shopping and only to discover that it is damaged, therefore, i returned it and the seller confirmed that he did receive it back, eBay then promised to refund me my money back in few days time and till this day no money was paid. They no longer respond to my email ever since they made the promise to refund me and now its been years. I wouldn't encourage anyone to use them because they are not reliable, I'm so disappointed.
Either Ebay has changed owner or management, they are not being very helpful. I bought item from seller that never arrived. I contacted them and Ebay said, it has been more than 3 months, we cant do anything about it ( Normally their stuff takes long time to arrive, so I kept waiting). Second incident, recently bought stuff, seller updated, delivered with someone ( God knows with who) because mailman has key for all mail boxes of building, and deliver in mail box. Upon contacting Ebay, the great Ebay said, We cant give you refund, because seller gave shipping info. If seller gave shipping info, how would it guarantee that item was delivered at my place. I would say, be careful when you buy stuff from Ebay, you will buy at your own risk and do not trust Ebay that much any more.
You can blame ebay for your parcel being late as they hold your payment from the seller for up to 8 days! For no other reason than to collect the interest on our sales. Was a good company, now greedy, corrupt and deceiving STAY CLEAR If you want an item quickly!
It used to be you could resolve an issue with a human being. At first it was easy to get help. Ebay has decided to ignore their customers by using a badly programed service bot that can't help and actually encourages you to fix it yourself, If you can't it then suggests that you pay for a third party to provide help. This is not customer service so I am looking for another auction site.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
