The main reason not to use DHL is their customer service number is 7p per minute. I think they intentionally screw up their parcels as they can make a fortune from these phone calls.
I used DHL a few years ago to bring a package from china. Why have a tracking system that does not track?
After that experience, i vouched never to use them again as first impressions gives you a good insight to performance.
A family member had arranged a delivery to us in the UK from South africa. Had all the shipment and tracking info that is fine but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to arrange to collect it from their depot the following day.
I went to the designated depot to collect and it was showing as still on the van but it should have been left at the depot the previous day as arranged. Called customer services and eventually told, that it is showing on the system at the depot we picked. But the system at the depot said it was still in transit. The second call to customer services then said, it was still on the container. What container? This information was not corresponding to the system at the pick-up depot. If this was still on the container, then it has not been put out for delivery as per their delivery date and tracking system. Someone or something was lying.
In total, the three phone calls to customer services has cost around £25. We still dont have the parcel and dont even know if it is at the correct depot or even in the uk. The saga continues, will update.
Please do not use DHL.

I live part time in Mexico and Canada, coming back to Canada I left my keys for my car and work in Mexico and had them shipped to me using DHLThey made us put a $1000 dollars insurance even though we did not want it, then when the keys arrived in Canada they tried to charge me $142.64 in duties and taxes for my own keys.

I had to file report with proof of my travels and more, big headache, after all that they sent my keys back to mexico after paying $80 dollars to ship them to Canada.

Been trying to deal with support but they are absolutely no help.

I still have not received them after 2 months, they provided a new tracking number and should be arriving, they will probably try to charge me more shipping fees on top of the $80 I already paid for them not doing anything except making me loose the use of my car for two months.

If i could give - stars i would...

This company has no respect at all for peoples schedules. My shipment was due on Tuesday and then updated to "Shipment on Hold". When I called they said it would be delivered Wednesday. Needless to say it did not come. Now Thursday it still shows "Shipment on Hold". When I called the women I spoke to told me how busy they were and that she will try to get it delivered today. 10:00 am and its not out on a truck for delivery at this time. Maybe it will come some day. Meanwhile, I have inconvenienced a friend waiting at my home while I work for the last 3 days. Horrible service! Use FedEx or UPS.

I odered a 8.29 pound smokey quartz crystal ball from ebay. It cost me 300 dollars. And dhl lost it somewhere in the abyss. It's now two weeks past the delivery date and dhl declared it lost last week. But me not wanting to give up just yet, called dhl again. This morning a CS rep would say nothing more then it's been declared lost over and over. She would answer any of my questions about how it's even possible to just loose a package? I never got an answer. She just kept saying it's been declared lost and to call the shipper to get a refund or a replacement sent to me... first of all I cant get a replacement hello mother nature isn't just gonna pop another one out for me! Its one of a kind! Second if there was a replacement why the hell would I want dhl to handle it for me again?!?! They are the worst shipping company ever and I've been telling everyone to not order anything from anyone who ships through dhl! I hope karma finds them all!

Phoned and asked customer service when a package would be delivered, shipped from Phoenix to Toronto. I was told if you use Express it is overnight. Based on this assurance shipped the package at a cost of $58.00.It got picked up in time but then sat in Cincinnati for a day and didn't get delivered until 1 day later. I complained, and was offered a $50.00 refund, but when it came time to get the actual $ - GUESS WHAT they refused the claim.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If there is an alternative, even if it is more, take it. Also be aware that if you ship across borders, they charge brokerage fees, even if it's Express where FEDEX & UPS include it in their express shipments. How reputable is a company that promises you a refund and then when you press for it, renege on the offer.

DHL are handling a shipment for me and ring me up asking what the Australian TC Numbers are for duty!
So we pay a brokerage fee to DHL and I have to supply the brokerage dept. all the stuff they are supposed to be experts in?
What a joke!

DHL Sucks

I paid over $100 to have a shipment sent to me in Hungary.

Monday the driver said we were not at home. We have not left the house since Saturday.

We called the office here in Budapest Monday night and gave detailed instructions for the driver to return today and call us through the security phone at the door. Again he reported we were not at home. The driver had both my phone number and gate code and he did not use either. The people in this office have very poor English and my meeting is over where I lost a lucrative content because the marketing materials did not arrive as scheduled.

I would like m money returned to me for the shipment and this delivery made as scheduled ASAP.

The sad thing is I get deliveries through DHL all the time from Amazon to this address and for some reason now they can no longer find my home.

DHL Fraud Company | Never Book International Shipment with them | DHL will say Shipment is Stuck with Custom Clearance Event even though all requested document submitted | Not providing any Indian Customs document | Asking additional $70 to return the shipment else threatning they will destroy the shipment.
If you want this kind of customer service sure go ahead and get harrased by these folk, luckly my package item was not costly and I dont really bother anymore, but I want to expose they international shipment tactics to extract money.
Sent a hard drive from USA to INDIA (Delhi) with some wedding data, DHL says the package is detained by Delhi Customs and DHL is asking $70 (non duty etc) to be paid in order to process the return shipment and not providing any document from Indian Customs

They just put the status in Custom Clearance and everyday the a new record entry happens but they are waiting for me to pay first so they can either return the shipment.
Never ever again. Pay few bucks extra and ship with Fedex.

Worst shipping co ever

Worst shipping company ever! EVERY TIME something comes via DHL its a disaster. Never have trouble with any other shipping co.
Driver says EVERY TIME my address is invalid although all other carriers have no issue. Then all i say is that its valid and they magically deliver it late and find address with no further instruction. This time I paid a fortune to have it days before christmas. Now it has missed Christmas and I won't see the receiving party again for a while. To make matters worse, they delivered to my next door neighbor (literally) but not my late package even though they confirmed in the truck. Told me 4 times it would definitely be there. Then driver's shift ended and no delivery by Christmas. Told me they would call back 3 tunes and nothing. Now closed for Christmas. Still no package. Friends have had similar DHL issues. I will insist senders not use DHL going forward or I won't use them.

Really bad service, 3 out of 3 package 3 different time did not get delivered. I still wait for one parcel to arrive, but it keeps getting lost in their " system". I called them yesterday about it on a 1/ minute price, and it took them 11 minutes to tell, that they have no idea, whwere it is, or will be delivered or not. This company is a mess. Embarrassment.

A little bit rude customer service. Delivery guy brought my delivery, and told me something I didn't heard him so I asked him, pardon? He replied, you should clean your ears better in the morning. But then said that it was a joke, okay... Disappointed

Horrible service I will never use again delivery driver didn't bother even trying to deliver my package instead claims I wasnt home what happened to the drivers coming up to ur door everytime I get stuff delivered it is left at the end of my driveway and now I didn't even get my package BC u claim im not home

Paid for their most expensive international package service only for the package to do a loop over and over between 3 post office delaying the package to the point where using a horse would have been faster.

Ontop of the sloppy delivery bull the customer service is garbage. I called on a friday morning for them to tell me that they'll 100% call me back within the hour. Needless to say nobody called me and was forced to call back monday morning only for them to tell me again that they will have someone call me at 3:30pm right before they close. I'm like 90% sure they'll push it off until tomorrow again. What a joke of a company.

NEVER USE THEM, LIKE EVER.

Very useless, i will not recommend it. They dont value the customers and they lie. Called them on friday and they said they will deliver my parcel on friday. On friday they didnt and i called again and they said Saturday. Called them on saturday asking what time is my parcel coming and they said we cant do it today, come and collect it on your own and will be closing at 1500hrs. They said they can will deliver it on Monday and i tried to explain that i will be travelling and i need to go with that parcel. They dont consider their customers as long as they get their money they are done. I dont recommend this unprofessional services

The worst service ever! My package arrived two weeks ago and still processed by Zoll. I have sent multiple emails with poformainvoice and transactions. But still no answer! DHL should close down and give space to more reliable companies.

Be very cautious and NEVER use DHL for shipping. I took a package to this facility and they measured and weighted and estimated the shipping at $188.13. The DHL representative signed my copy of the invoice receipt, she opened and inspected my package which seemed unusual and then repackaged it. A few weeks later I get charged $263.98. After calling them they claim they recharge me based on volumetric weight... The package weighted 2lbs. The DHL representative weighted it and measured it at their facility! So they had all the information to charge me the correct amount up front. Instead DHL acts fraudulently fooling their customers in thinking their shipping prices are better than competitors. NEVER USE DHL THEY ARE AN UNETHICAL COMPANY!

Paid Ch260 for 3 days guarantee delivery to Greece only to find they delivered parcel without customs clearance so it had to go back. Clearance cost euro 70. Parcel delivered normal mail with hidden costs. No apology No refund. They are cheats! Don t use them!

I am very, very disappointed! I am awaiting my 100 order for nearly a month, i emailed the product's company manager to find what is going on and was told it has allready been delivered 24 days ago. To our NEIGHBOURS. Yes, I was confirmed by the DHL service the 100box was given to our neighbours, totally strange people with a different name who are not any relatives to us and for example in our case like to drink alot alcohol or never take their 3 unregistered dogs out, and i am very, very sure, they havent mentioned any box delivered on my name nor left anything on the door. Dear DHL, please imagine your situation, do you think I would still order for 100 knowing my belonging will be given to a stranger on delivery? I am begging, please, higher your shipping fee and make your service reliable by at least phoning, asking a code or an ID card!
