Cheaptickets charged me a booking fee of 14.98 for a cancelled airline ticket even though the law states there is a 24-hour cancellation period. When I called their customer service I had a difficult time understanding the rep in Mumbai or Calcutta and he was unconcerned that the "terms and conditions" don't mention a service fee for cancellations, at least not in any place apparent.
My credit card company said they can't accept a dispute complaint as the fee is less than $25. I assume Cheaptickets does this on purpose (charges less than 25 so patrons can't dispute the fee with their credit card companies) Dishonesty is the company's credo.
I have booked a car resevation through them like I would normally do, and they have charged me for car insurance through them that I never authorized. I have been calling and calling someone came to the phone placed me on hold and never came back. This site is a rip off and scam I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS SITE cheaptickets.com what so ever unless you have money to waste.
If I can do a 0 rating I would. I want to shut this company down... single handedly. Short story. They canceled my return flight back. Used the credit to fund my flight change that they purposely changed with out our consent. We drove an hour from New York to Jersey to catch a flight back to Houston. To find the attached the return flight was changed. Was on hold with the them for 4 hours. They would find a close flight then have me on hold for an hour until we missed the flight. Only to come on the phone to tell me it has passed and asking if they can search for another flight then put me on hold again to tell me that one they and booking for us has flown... this happening over and over for 4 hours. 4 times. I had a 10 month old baby with me. I had Uber drop us off. We had no food. It was freezing plus it was new years eve! We had to use my husbands second cell while I was on hold to call them. They then hung up on my call! With out notice.! I hyperventilate and cried my eyes out. Finally they offered another flight with another company. Man. Just 12 mins from departure! We had to run from terminal C to A. Of course they took off. 9pm. No flights to Houston. We are now in a hotel. Over priced Cuz of new year's... I'm melting ice to make baby's bottles Cuz each bottle of water is $5... I'm so depressed.
Found two tickets, round trip from Germany to the States and back for a phenomenal $1700 price. After I entered my credit card information and proceeded to book, a message popped up that the price has changed to over $5400 (MORE THAN TRIPPLE THE PRICE). Obviously I didn't proceeed with the purchase, however cheap tickets still charged my card $29.96 processing fee for a transaction that didn't happen! I will never book with them again, I hope their practices will bite them in the $#*! one day.
I was attracted to this website for the 24-hour online cancellation option. I had to cancel my daughter's trip within 12 hours of booking, and I thought that the magical mouse's click followed by the "CANCELLED" notification next to the itinerary was enough... well, it turns out that I was not as easy as advertised. On day #5 I called customer service to find out why my refund had not posted, and was notified that there was a computer error during the cancellation process and that I needed to call. My flight was marked cancelled. I thought the transaction was completed within the refundable window. Their "computer error" costed me my refund which turned into a credit, which could only be used if I paid a fee of $135 on top of any other difference during my next booking. I can only use my credit money if I book through them again. Unacceptable! I cancelled on time. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and that was another full hour of waiting. Nothing was changed. The company is not customer service oriented. Save yourself the trouble.
I'm always thorough when booking flights. I want to save money, I shop around, I don't press the Purchase button until I'm sure. I bought tickets from CheapTickets.com and got a good price. At no point did the website say anything about a $43.98 booking fee, or else I would have gone elsewhere. I noticed the charge sometime later in my credit card account.
I went through the paces of booking a different flight. The webpage did show a field called "Booking Fee" which was shown as "$0" at every stage of the process up through the payment screen.
The phone menu system for CheapTickets kept bringing me to a dead end, with silence, no message, no music, when I followed it for billing issues. I had to call reservations and have them transfer me.
The billing department refused to refund their fraudulent charge. I'm disputing it with my credit card company.
I booked a hotel with Cheap Tickets, figuring it would save me money, since I'd booked my flight with them as well. It seemed quite expensive, but I figured that their "low price guarantee" assured me that they'd refund the difference if the price was lower elsewhere. So I looked online, just to check, and sure enough, the same double-occupancy room for the same dates was more than $100 cheaper on Hotels.com. I applied for the refund, which was robotically denied. When I tried to call them to ask about this, guess what - "Contact us" did not provide a phone number. I hope sharing my experience will help others avoid dealing with this sleazy company.
I had never heard of or used this scam website until today when my wife tried to book a flight from Denver to New York. She had the flights selected at $403 and put her credit card number into the website but did not hit Purchase or Accept when she noticed CheapTickets raised the price to $499 where one couldn't barely notice the change. My wife then did not select Purchase or Accept and backed out of the website thus considered not-authorized. When she immediately checked with Chase VISA, they said there was a $426 charge pending even without her acceptance. When she phoned the CheapTickets crooks, they basically told her "tough luck" and take it up with the credit card company and refused to refund the unauthorized charge! What a bunch of crooks! They've not heard the end of this from me. Looks like the Texas Attorney General's office will be getting involved to put them out of business! Please beware and do not deal with these crooks and their online scams!

I received credit voucher that expires in the year 2017. I received this voucher after I made changes to a flight. In stead of returning on 8 June I changed for my return to be on 4 June. I had to pay for a new flight prior to receiving voucher. While making arrangements for another travel I decided to use the voucher that was emailed to me. CheapTickets refuses to honor the voucher. Basically they sent me a bogus voucher. They state that the airlines will not honor it without reason. Remind you my flight was originally insured also.
I booked a trip for May through your website in January - I also purchased the "insurance" for the ticket at the same time. A very good friend of mine happens to be getting married on the same day as my return flight. When I realized I would not be back in time for her wedding I contacted your company to change my flight to an earlier time. I was told that it would be an additional $200 PLUS the flight. When I asked why I had to pay an additional $200 I was told that it was American Airlines that is charging the fee. When I contact American Airlines to try and work directly with them, I was told that it was "Cheap Tickets" who was charging me the fee. Which is it? YOUR COMPANY or AA? I have never been so disappointed with a booking agency than yours. When I contact the insurance company (at the suggestion of your team) I got no where. This has been the worse experience and frankly your policies are unfair. I literally want to change a flight from evening to morning and you expect me to pay a change fee of $200?! It's ridiculous. The flight is not for another month. I would expect a change fee of that amount in the mount that I was flying but not 6 weeks out! I will never use your services EVER again and I will be sure no one I know ever does either.
We ordered round trip airline tickets from Cleveland to Las Vegas. Confirmation number and 3 phone calls to assure we were good to go. Got to Las Vegas fine but no return flight and now stuck in Vegas! No way home! Cheap tickets blames airline after 3 hours on the phone! Such a disaster and ruined our trip and costing us over $1000 to try and get home.
In 1999 I remarried and my children and I moved across the country to start our new lives. Because of a prior divorce, I had to fly my three kids back to see their dad several times a year. Since 1999, I have literally booked dozens and dozens of cross country flights thru Cheaptickets.com. Anytime I have had issues with the airlines, Cheaptickets has helped me resolve the matters to my satisfaction. When we had an emergency death in the family, Cheapticket reps went out of their way to assist us in saving as much money as possible (for very expensive last minute seats) and the reps advised how to request additional refunds from the airlines due to the extreme nature of our situations. They also followed up with us to confirm we had been treated well and refunded fairly by the airlines. I would never consider using any other booking site. I have never been disappointed in this site and I have always been treated well, professionally, and courteously. And I have been aided many times over the years when I sought extra advice or assistance from Cheaptickets while booking long flights. A GREAT COMPANY! I wish I could give Cheaptickets.com more than five stars!
Don't ever book anything with them. They do not have the best price and they dont give a rats $#*! about thier customers at all. Rude and incompetent.
I even asked or thier names and they have not given it to me. I will be telling everyone i know about thier horrible business and every review site i can find.
I am still on hold. It has been 4 hrs.
They made a mistake wit my flught shcedule but all they can say after 3 phone calls. 3 representatives is "there is nothing we can do" and i still get stuck with the charge. What the hell!
I had to speak to 3 different people at 3 different call service center who, all of then could not connect with each other to figure out the same problem only to tell me after hrs of holds, the same "solution"
Bought tickets, they changed the flights three times, each time saying it was the Airline (United) who made the changes. I've racked up 130,000 miles with United, and never had this problem. When I spoke with United, they said "no, not us, that was cheaptickets." That's just one of the many lies this website told me.
Would give a zero if I could. Long story short, I booked tickets, next morning needed to cancel, agent said it was fine, I was within my 24 hours, the money would drop off my pending credit card charge in 3 days. 2 weeks & multiple phone calls later (being put on hold for an hour at a time & was able to hear everyone talking because they can't even mute the phone properly), I am still out of my money, even though my flights are canceled
I cancelled a flight with cheaptickets a received credit ($88) because I couldnt get a refund. According to cheaptickets, I have to pay $200 to use the $88 credit. I will never use a third party company again.
We purchased airline tickets through Cheap Tickets in February 2,2015 for 8 people departing from Atlanta, GA on December 19th, 2015 to Barbados and returning on December 24th, 2015. The tickets were very expensive.
We purchased these tickets after booking Sandals, an all-inclusive luxury resort, for those same dates.
We coordinated a large group code with Sandals to celebrate A family member's 40th birthday whom the trip was for.
On December 23rd around 2:00 PM, a group member wanted to check in for our return flight on the 24th. At that moment, he learned that our flight had changed to depart an entire day earlier leaving at 4:15 PM on the 23rd! This was one full day earlier than we expected!
Eight people scrambled out of the pool to their rooms to throw their things into the suitcases, quickly check out of the hotel, arrange for transportation and get to the airport in time for the flight.
We had planned a special birthday celebration that night which we were not able to do. We lost $640 in the hotel fare for the last night per couple plus the cost for transportation to the airport. We also lost the pre-payment we made to the hotel for our transportation to the airport on the 24th.
We've attempted to voice our complaints several times to Cheap Tickets to try and get reimbursed for the money that we lost but they refused. We spoke to several managers and supervisors (Barbara, Max, Eliza, etc.) and they have given us the runaround and have not provided a resolution that is mutually agreeable. We are very dissapointed with Cheap Tickets. We would like to WARN all potential customers from using CheapTickets
I purchased an airline ticket through cheaptickets.com. They had the best price for a roundtrip flight on the days that I was looking for, which was not airline or time specific. The flight was booked on Frontier Airlines, which the price for the roundtrip ticket was only somewhat better than other airlines. Found out weeks later that Frontier charges for carryon, checked luggage and seat selection, which would add about $85 to the price for 1 carryon bag and a seat selection in the economy section of the plane. I didn’t remember reading anything about these extra fees for Frontier, so went back to cheaptickets.com website to do a sample booking for the same flight. No mention of the extra fees during flight booking. Not until asking for credit card #, which you have to click on a small link under the payment price stating extra fees may apply. By clicking on that link you get estimated baggage fees, which you can’t add baggage to your flight for Frontier through cheaptickets.com. You have to go to the airlines website to add the baggage, which is $10 more than cheaptickets.com estimated price. There is no mention anywhere on cheaptickets.com that there is a seat selection fee for Frontier. In the end, cheaptickets.com did not offer the best price, as they assumed to believe. I have no problem with specific pricing for specific needs/selections from individual airlines. I do have a problem with booking companies not telling you up front about the pricing, or even being able to add it to your final price so you can compare exact pricing through different airlines as cheaptickets.com is leading you to believe they are doing. In today’s day of technology they should add all fees for the final ticket price. I have no choice but to pay the extra pricing, which is why I’m adding a negative complaint about cheaptickets.com to any review website possible. Note: I called cheaptickets.com about the issue, after being routed to the call center in India; the agent stated he could add baggage to my flight for an additional $25 on top of the baggage fee.
Bought tickets on Thursdays, on Friday they were lower on thier own Web site. Called them and had to do it on line but they said I waited to long to put in claim. That was just two days.
Answer: These are a bunch of crooks that are in the process of being sued and put out of business by our state's Attorney General... BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!
Answer: In this situation. I probably would. Just keep in mind that the sale is final and where you may be placed might not be a prime location despite what you pay. Unfortunately last minute purchasing can put you in a vulnerable situation.
