Back in early 2020 I booked a room via Cancelon 4 hours away from home because my son had to have surgery to remove a bone tumor from his hip in a hospital in Rochester NY. When I got to the hotel my reservation wasn't there. Luckily the hotel was empty and the lady at the desk worked to get me a good rate. I tried to contact Cancelon for a refund and found it was impossible to contact them as they had cancelled their phone service and didn't respond to emails. Apparently they continued to take peoples money for reservations and never placed the reservation and had filed for bankruptcy. I immediately contacted trip advisor as that's where I found the room with the Cancelon rate to notify them of the issues. There's a Facebook group where people post their fraud stories regarding Cancelon.
I booked a room In March 2020 for October 2020. I went to try to cancel the room and the phone number is disconnected and emailing them does no good. I'm out of $372.
I booked reservations back in Jan 2020 for Florida for Disney trip in September 2020. They canceled my reservation without my knowledge. I was not refunded my money, this company filled a chapter 11 in March 2020. The number to this company is no longer available and no one will honor my reservation. I was ripped off.
Terrible company there is no way to contact them... lost all my money... no refund... they canceled the reservation due to COVID and hotel does not know anything about it
Anyone that has a reservation made through the company should reconfirm.
Just want to give everyone a heads ups about the my reservations. I reserved a cabin in Feb 2020 at the North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge for Oct 9,2020. With all the news about the workers taking over the lodge because of Covis-9, I thought I would reconfirm my reservation. The Cancelon phone is not in service any longer. I called the North Rim Lodge to confirm and was told that my reservation was canceled in April. I then call the credit card company and reversed the charges.
This is not a legitimate business. They don't book the hotel correctly (your name but wrong address) therefore you can not legitimately say you have a reservation. They have also filled for bankruptcy and would not refund my money due to covid closure at our hotel. It is really surprising that TripAdvisor linked up with them. We were not aware that Trip Advisor was going to use them to book a vacation. BAD NEWS!
Just when COVID was shutting down travel, this thieving company went around and cancelled all the reservations they had. See when you first reserve through them, they make sure you don't see their NO CANCELLATION policy, that way any money you give them, its theirs to keep. They cancelled my reservation only 6 days AFTER I had made it and I didnt find out it was cancelled until three days before I was supposed to arrive at the hotel. They stole everyone's money, filed for bankruptcy, and used that money to start up something again. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RESERVE ANYTHING WITH THEM!
This site stole from hundreds of customers by canceling reservations without any warning to them and they didn't refund the payments done. They announced bankruptcy on March 2020. Be aware!
I learned that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the hotel I had booked through Cancelon will be closed. Cancelon has apparently filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying back customers who prepaid for hotel reservations with them. As mentioned in other recent reviews there is no way to get in touch with them since their phone numbers have been disconnected. As far as I'm concerned the people who owned this company are no better than thieves or crooks. Filing for bankruptcy is just a cowards way of avoiding their responsibility to pay back what they owe.
I purchased a hotel reservation through Cancelon in October 2019. My reservations were for a four night stay in New York in June 2020. I contacted the hotel in April to check on the status of their hotel during this pandemic. I was told Cancelon cancelled my hotel on March 23rd. I had no knowledge of this cancellation. Needless to say, three days later on March 26th, Cancelon filed for bankruptcy. I have not heard from them nor am I able to get in touch with them. I am out $1,537. I booked through Trivago but then my financial transaction was completed through Cancelon. Trivago told me I should have taken out travel insurance. What a joke! Both of these companies should be ashamed of themselves.
Covid-19 reservations are all non refundable! They said they will work hard to get my refund kiss my $#*!!
Trip of a lifetime cancelled due to the Corona Virus. Any attempts to contact Cancelon have been unsuccessful. Phone numbers are no longer in service and my booking information is not showing up online. I contacted Tripadvisor who initially took my booking and outsourced using Cancelon. Tripadvisor is not taking any responsibility or offering any compensation for the monies I have prepaid on my credit card. Such an unfortunate and costly experience. Shame on these companies. Just remember Karma is a $#*!! Anyone booking through Tripadvisor should be aware. Looks like Cancelon will take not only my hard earned money, but I'm sure that of many travelers and likely open under another name. BEWARE.
Booked and paid Cancel-on $3,000.00. Now that borders are shut we can't go anyway. They have stolen my money as they have not paid hotel. DO NOT book with this site. Just heard they have gone out of business. Is there nothing people can do to recoup their money? Diane
They had me book the wrong hotel location and then decided not to refund me so I ended up having to book another hotel where my conference was actually held. Please NEVER use this company.
Talked to an actual person on the phone a week before my trip to cancel it due to the virus, received a confirmation email about what was discussed and that my refund would be forward to their "refund team". Site has been down for weeks now, not able to contact, no other email has been sent back to discuss about my refund. Highly unprofessional! The policy states that if an state of emergency and lock down has been made there is a refund issued! My hotel stay was cancelled, the hotel even states full refunds for guest but Cancelon pockets my money for free? I am a cashier on the front line and risk my health and life to provide the best customer service during this time. Unbelievable!
I will be filing a complaint to Better a business Bureau and https://attorneygeneral.delaware.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/50/2019/04/CPU-Complaint-Form-2019.pd
My reservation was booked between the outbreak of COVID-19.The Cancelon website pretty much vanished when it came to try and organise a refund as I was unable to make it due to travel restrictions. They happily took my money during the worldwide pandemic. Will NEVER EVER book through this company again.
They shut down the company, disabled all the numbers and emails, pocketed your money and ran away. Scam company.
CANCELON: They Scammers based in INDIA
HILTON has happily issued my Refund for 2 Nights Reservation.
Still a week later, no Credit to my account.
I am filing another complaint with FTC and Hilton Hotels for allowing these thugs to seat in the slums of India and scam people with bogus reservation.
ALL I NEED IS MY REFUND.
I WILL MAKE SURE YOU ARE BANNED FOR BUSINESS IN THIS COUNTRY.
Wait and see

Let me first start out by saying I am/was an avid Priceline user. I would spend thousands of dollars using them. They allure of "priceline VIP" pricing and "Mobile Deal" always got me to choose them. DO NOT LET THIS GLAMOUR FOOL YOU. They are crooks. The customer service is absolutely terrible, and recently I just found out that they don't care about their customers. They are a commission based company that care only about the dollar they can make off you.
On March 22nd I booked a room off Priceline for the Marriott Detroit Metro Airport and my card was charged, and my confirmation print out said "paid in full". When I got to the property the Marriott had not a single clue as to what I as talking about. They did not receive any funds from Priceline. So here I am, with a line as long as one at an amusement park trying to explain that I had paid already, showed my evidence all to no avail. After about hours of trying to pull together enough money for what turned out to cost less that what Priceline charged me I finally was able to get in to my room. By then it was so late and having missed my conference call I had to reschedule it for the following day thus spending another 1/2 day rate at $75 the following day just so I could work. I missed my flight which wast too bad on pricing right now and had to stay with a friend in the next town over, due to the fact that because of this mess I no longer had the funds to afford anywhere to stay. The inconvenience of it all was what really upset me.
Today March 24th I called Priceline and told them the story, they called the property and they basically told me that I had paid for my stay. I paid for my stay with Priceline on one card, and paid for the exact same stay with a separate card because this isn't the first time that this has happened. This exact same thing happened to me in Feb. 2020. I paid Priceline, they were supposed to pay hotel and never did, got to the hotel and the hotel said there was nothing they could do and that I had to pay them directly. That incident took me exactly 30 days to get my funds back on my PayPal card. Priceline called in an "authorization hold". I called PayPal and they told me that they sent a "courtesy email to them to drop the hold." But did not release the hold for 30 days.
These are scary times to be completely honest, With this corona-virus taking hold of the world and our economy shattered, it is unfair that companies like Priceline will take advantage of people for a quick buck. It is un American yet sadly in a way, the American way. Something needs to be done, I cannot afford another 30 days to receive my funds back. I have not only wasted my hard earned money during this debacle but my time, my work and my family was affected by this debacle. Priceline or booking.com whichever you go by, Should be ashamed of yourselves.
Speaking with multiple hotel chain customer service individuals I feel obliged to give anyone who takes the time to read this review this advice: DO NOT EVER BOOK THROUGH PRICELINE. There is a website called looknofurther.com and (at least Marriott, Westin, Sheraton, etc) will pricematch anything pricelinee promises'. They will not only honor the price but they will even give you what you ordered through Priceline be it a king room, a corner suite, what have you.
