BritBox garners mixed feedback, with many customers expressing appreciation for its diverse and engaging content, particularly in the realm of British television. However, significant concerns arise regarding the platform's technical reliability and customer service. Users frequently encounter issues with streaming interruptions, difficulties in canceling subscriptions, and unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations over billing practices. The overall sentiment suggests that while the content quality is valued, the user experience is hampered by navigational challenges and inadequate assistance, prompting some customers to seek alternatives. Addressing these operational shortcomings could enhance customer satisfaction and retention.

Basic technical aspects of singing on and navigation are maddening. You will spend more time on technical problems then watching any content. In the Stone Age technically compared to other available streaming apps.
I walked away from a new one year subscription, joyfully.
I'm an ex-pat looking for up to date quality beeb programs which sadly was not provided by this service.
Maybe the soaps are up to date (I'm not interested in them) but everything else is pretty old or just not there! Game and quiz shows? Why can't they be provided?
I inadvertently choose the 1 year subscription after the 7 day trial, so please be careful of what you sign up for. There's NO refund!
Very disappointing overall :(
Stupidly signed up for a year on 12-24-18 using Chromecast. Programs either did not load at all, or kept re- loading every 20 seconds or so. Called January 3 to cancel stating I would pay for a month, but would like a refund for the rest. I was told, no problem on the refund and Britbox was working to correct this problem so many have had. Called today 3-2-19 and was brusquely told there us a no refund policy and that it states that online. That is not was I was told in January, nor do I
Remember seeing such a statement in December. For good business, why would you not offer a refund? Tried to cast again today. Still doesn't work.
Britbox's customer service is terrible. I decided I no longer wanted the service and canceled, receiving a cancellation confirmation email. They continued to bill my card for three months past the cancellation date. I have called four times and have yet to get connected with a service rep. Here's what Britbox needs to do. Give customers a cancellation confirmation number and stop their practice of ignoring cancellation requests. If they're still involved with Amazon, then Amazon should cut them loose.
WHAT A RIP! This great series went on for 18 seasons, Britbox only has season 2 & 18, what happened to the 16 years in between? All too many times companies promise one thing & deliver another. Britbox appears to be one of those companies.
Received a gift subscription, tried to activate requires credit card info. Called to confirm, spoke to really surly male who said yes you need to enter cc info. Of course now my cc has been charged. Have sent 2 emails with no response. Will now call... Avoid!
Britbox does not work with Roku at all! Shows never load more than 1 minute and then the channel totally shuts down, taking you back to the Roku home screen. Multiple calls to customer service provided absolutely NO help, although I was told that they get a lot of calls like mine - which is just proof that the service is subpar.
I was given a gift subscription to Britbox, but they won't let me access it unless I enter MY credit card information. Good grief, this is a GIFT! I realize they want my credit card info so they can automatically renew the service once the subscription is over, but I don't want them to have my credit card info. Other streaming gifts I have received let the gift-giver decide whether or not they want to renew the subscription. BritBox will not refund my friend's money. Very disappointed.
I love British sitcom comedy and mysteries. Great price for so many seasons! No problem streaming on my smartphone! Thank you!
There are lots of problems with streaming... often have to stop and restart:(
Also, not all advertised shows are available. For example, only two seasons of Vera, yet more seasons are advertised. Too many old series, not enough new ones. Save your money!
While it would be nice to see britbox succeed, their lack of service, untrained help desk, inabilities to accept credit card changes in the Canadian market and general ineptitude make them not worth your time or money.
Empty promises of call back and general attitude of "oh well" and " you have to understand" by VERY apparently abandoned and so, unconcerned people on the help desk show lack of managerial leadership and general dysfunction within the organization. Other reviews are bearing this out as well Looks like BritBox can't even be bothered to read their reviews. Too bad for them Don't use this frustrating and uncaring product from an organization that is disengaged.
Casts perfectly on Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra setups I have on 3 older and newer Sony Bravia TVs. I am thrilled with Britbox content and the vivid display I am getting on 5G.
Almost didn't subscribe due to all the negative reviews and decided to find out for myself. So glad I did! Buffering? What buffering?
I signed up for a free trial and cancelled after two days. The Britbox stream via my Roku box was of uniquely poor quality, the stream continually buffered and dropped. I'd love to pay for the content, but they need to work out their technical issues first.
I really enjoyed the show but very disappointed that there is only the first season and the last. What happened to the rest?
I haven't tried it given the overall rating.
However, streaming is the future but I haven't cut my cable just yet.
There are so many free streaming apps now, why would you pay?
Even buying Roku, FireTV and IPTV boxes with cheap subscriptions, may not be the answer.
I use Chromecast and Youtube for a lot of my, mostly free, TV and Movie watching.
Thought I would try this and signed up for free trial. Unable to google cast onto a tV so cancelled with in the hour. Unable to logon "credentials are invalid:. Unable to reset password as no email arrived. Credit card had charge of $0 pending which disappeared after a day. 6 days later credit card charged $8.99 pending. Called Credit card company and they have to wait till it posts. Called Britbox at 877 number and they cannot find my account? Sent email to their help contact and will see from there where this goes. Beware of this site. Looks legit but reviews are poor and customer service is suspect.
Don't think that by paying your monthly fee, you'll get all the advertised programs for free!
When you do complain to Amazon Prime Video,
Their answer is " Well it's not a service of Amazon but rather the BBC."
We have had Britbox for several months. Would love to see more Inspector Lewis, Endeavour, Judge John Deed, DCI Banks and other more up to date series on Britbox. Please add new programs as we have seen almost everything currently available.
Decent selection but could use more contemporary shows. The black background on the subtitling needs to go. But my biggest beef is with the quality of the streaming. While it sometimes looks good, much of the time is dealing with a stuttering image, digital artifacts and loss of signal. Perhaps this is a result of growing pains but I don't think this company is really concentrating on image quality at this point. Britbox will need to do something soon. With the improvements in 4K UHD TV's and with superior competing streaming services that provide top notch images, this company is not quite ready for prime time.
Nice menu of shows. Good variety, it seems. But I can't be sure because of the continual "loading" interruptions. Oddly it worked well during the "free trial" period but once they had the first month's payment things mysteriously slowed down. The problem does not exist on Amazon, Netflix, even YouTube. Reducing resolution did seem to help but only a little. I'll give it another week and if it doesn't get fixed it's gone.
