I searched for hotels through Trivago and found the booking for the room at Amoma.com which was the cheapest.
I received one confirmation email from a hotelvouchers.travel which didn't appear to have any association with amoma.com but figured it was fine as the hotel had my reservation. I used that voucher to check-in at the hotel and all seemed to be good. I did notice that this voucher did not include any actual price amount on it so of course I had no recourse if I was overbilled since I had no proof.
It wasn't until I looked at my credit card statement to see I was charged $60 more than what was quoted on Trivago and what still is (2 weeks later). However, amoma.com isn't among those quoting for this hotel anymore...
Amoma.com customer service says without proof of amount I reserved at because of course they never sent anything other than the voucher and there is no way to prove what the rate was through Trivago at the time they can't do anything.
I was simply ripped off for $60 by this company. Even when booking directly with the Hotel itself the price is was $50 less than what amoma.com charged me.
Do not use this site to book reservations. I'm also disgruntled that Trivago allows this company to advertise on their site.
Made a booking and paid in full for a weekend at Sun CIty, SA. I received an email from AMOMA confirming my reservation and payment. Ref no SH*******. When I arrived at the hotel, they had no reservation or payment for me.
I booked hotels via amoma.com many times, and I'd got the best prices for booking hotels in Abudhabi-UAE
I can say I was satisfied with amoma.com
I booked a hotel room through Amoma.com, paid through Paypal, and went to the hotel over 24 hours later and they didn't have my reservation. Thanks to a persistent manager at the hotel, 2 hours after I arrived he was able to extract a credit card number from Amoma to book my room. It seems they had sent my money to a "travel partner" who didn't pay the hotel, so they felt they had no responsibilty once they sent my money to their may or may not exist travel partner. I've been going back and forth with them through Trivago for 2 weeks, and now they've changed their story again and told Trivago that they have investigated and the hotel "had trouble locating my (non-existent!) reservation." So over this. Let them know Social Media will be taking care of it Sad to see there have been so many before me.
Buyer beware!
There is no guarantee that you have a reservation. I have purchased and booked my reservation through kayak who directed me to amoma. 5 days after paying I still have no definite reservation at the hotel. I was advised by Amoma representatives that my reservation will be confirmed A DAY before my actual check-in to a hotel that to this day have no reference of any reservation I paid for through Amoma. I opened a dispute for this transanction. I'm booking directly through the hotel next time.
Booked, paid, no confirmation at the hotel, no room at the inn... Do Not Use This Site! Rubbish.
I booked a hotel in Perth through AMOMA- with free cancellation. Unfortunately, I was hospitalised 4 days before my booking an d so tried to cancel it. The hotel were ok but couldn't do it because I had booked through AMOMA. I contacted AMOMA who would not cancel the booking because the 'penalties' were only $26 less than the value of the booking. So much for the free cancellation! They said that if I sent through a medical certificate they might cancel. I tried to do this but the e-mail address that they gave me would not accept attachments. The AMOMA website is useless for feedback and AMOMA failed to respond to any further e-mails. I will stick to Booking.com in future.
This is a total scam do not book through them. Once you book directly with them they say they will send you a confirmation email which they do but it's non existent. Meaning it's fake they charge you for basically nothing. I called to confirm with the hotel 24 hours after having booked with AMOMA and the reservation was no where in their system and they had never heard of a company named AMOMA. Once you call back to AMOMA costumer service they leave you on hold for hours and never give you an accurate answer. All they say is to wait 2 days for the transaction to go through because after the 2 days is when most likely they'll get the hold of your money and never give you back a refund because it never existed in the first place. I was able to cancel my transaction but through the bank not directly with them. I wish I had read, or seen what kind of a so called "company" this was. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM.
We made a reservation at amoma.com and at the beginning we had some trouble making a reservation. When we called them to see if they could give us a better price, they told us that the price would be higher since the price went up for every extra room booked.
We went ahead and booked and when we checked the payment from the bank, the price was different for two exact same rooms. Then we started checking reviews on the Internet and saw that it was fraudulent. We called the hotel to check and make sure we had a reservation with them and we didn't. We are still in the process to get our money back. Beware!
Always found them very helpful even when I exchanged hotels. Always best value wih good rooms. Use them everytime.
I would rarely write reviews but for this I had to because I seen so many bad reviews. I had absolutely no problems with amoma! The hotel got our booking straight away. We panicked at first because we read so many bad reviews after we booked but we stressed for nothing! Maybe we were lucky but I have a friend who also booked off amoma and she had no problem either! I don't understand all the bad reviews, we had absolutely no problems with it
Called to book a room for 2 at the Anaheim Hilton. I received my voucher which stated the room was for 1 person only. I called to verify my voucher. And was charged 60 dollars extra to add 1 person when we originally had booked it for 2. And worst part they charged my card without any authorization. Worst site to book from. My vacation is on a week and now I'm having second thoughts. I hope our room was booked. I will never book a room through them ever again. Trivago is a more trustworthy site. I give Amoma a big fat 0.
I read soo many bad reviews about Amoma.com I was kind of scare thinking it was not real. Since many people said they have arrived at the hotel and there was no reservation for them. THAT IS A COMPLETE LIE. I booked at Amoma.com for a Hotel in Costa Rica everything was fine my reservation was there. I AM DEFENITELY BOOKING WITH Amoma.com ALL THE TIME.
I recently booked with a hotel through Amoma and initially was quite pleased to get a room through them as nearly all the regular agencies such as booking.com stated no availability in the place I was visiting. I must confess to a having a lot of trepidation after having read all the negative reviews about them, even though the confirmation voucher seemed genuine enough. I waited a couple of days and phoned the hotel to confirm my reservation was made and though they didnt recognise my name they confirmed that the Amoma reference number was in fact on their system and a room was booked for me. In fact I received several further emails from Amoma giving me general advice etc about the area and the hotel I was visiting. So my experience is nothing but good regards Amoma.
I cancelled our reservation made through this company... the reservation was made a week ago. They are keeping our $529 Canadian. That's right... I even phoned the hotel in Rome directly. They say they don't have my money... and I suggested they stop dealing with Amoma since their business practices are so poor. I am still fighting for my refund. We'll see if they decide to take on a post-menopausal 65 year old with a grudge.
I used Amoma this month for the first time and feel I have to share my experience to balance out the negative ones here.
Was booking something in Prague last minute in July, Expedia (my usual go to) showed most hotels booked up or not attractive pricing. Somewhere on tripadvisor I click on amoma ad for a hotel I really liked, rate on expedia was $500+ and amoma offered $270 or so. As many reviews here say, it was advertised as the last room left, etc, so I rushed to book before reading any reviews. And then I got some doubts and decided to research. Boy, did I get nervous after that! Was so sure I got scammed, only a couple hours after booking I started researching where to re-book and how to cancel credit card charges.
Then I called the hotel directly and to my surprise they already had my information on file, and assured me that the reservation was fully paid by the agent. Pleasantly surprised but still unsure I decided to call amoma to ask about bad reviews and to get a feel of what dealing with them would be like if problems with my 'paid booking' come up upon arrival.
Amoma phone answered within 10 minutes or so, not a bad waiting time for a call center IMO. The customer service rep was friendly, I did not tell them my specific details just asked why they have so many bad reviews and that I am nervous about my booking. The rep's answer was 'We are servicing a lot of customers to their full satisfaction, but people rarely write reviews about a train arriving on time.'
Anyway, I was still a bit nervous until I got to the hotel, checked in (again asked if it was paid for and was told it was), spent my several nights and checked out. Absolutely no issues so far.
Planning to monitor credit card for a while to make sure there are no hidden charges for some monthly membership or something. If nothing comes up - will likely use amoma again in the future.
But as of now - everything worked out fine for us and we got an awesome deal for a great hotel in the middle of high season. Kudos to amoma for making it happen.
Good luck to everyone with their bookings.
I recently stayed at a hotel in DC (Grand Hyatt) in which AMOMA offered a great price at $160 per night as opposed to the listed price of $279/nigh). Because of the discounted price, I jumped on it and clicked on the link and booked accordingly using my smart phone. The receipt e-mailed only accounted for the total price. It was not only after a closer look that I realized that the rate calculated was $213/night plus credit card charges $35.++. The rest of my team was able to book a similar room with TRIVAGO at $130. This is a very deceptive business practice. I have warned colleagues and friends about using this company. TRIVAGO is much better.
I reserved and payed but the hotel never received my payment. After talking to customer service and them claiming to contact the hotel and myself nothing heard of them. This is a new brand of bush gangsters that apparently are very successful.
Stay clear of these fellows.
I waited on hold for 1 hour and 43 minutes before they answered the phone. Their cancellation policy is very steep. They would not accept any changes or cancellations within 7 days of reservation date. I will never use this website again.
