Terrible service
November 15, 2016

Booked on Amoma via Tripadvisor in April 2016 for a hotel for the Dublin marathon in late October. Booking accepted and confirmed. The night before the day of travel Amoma called to say the hotel had closed down. I checked on the Internet and the hotel closed at the end of July. No assistance getting another room. Trying very hard to get the money back, so far no success.

No worries
November 2, 2016

Hi all - I was in the process of booking online when I was called by Amoma representative (as soon as I entered my mobile number) offering a reduction to the online rate - I was quite concerned and after deliberation paid with a credit card on the basis that I would be covered by that insurance should there be a problem. Amoma sent me confirmation immediately and a number of other emails recommending places to visit whilst at my chosen hotel.
When I had completed the transaction I checked online and was very worried by all the reviews.
The reference that I received from Amoma did not correspond to any reservation at the hotel (not unusual as I guess it was an Amoma generated reference) so I sent an email to the hotel in Singapore to check out whether they had received my booking.
I am pleased to report that they confirm the booking and that it has been paid in full.
I don't intend to change my dates as my flights are also booked - so I would say that providing you are sure of your dates this company can save you money.

After trying to book a rate through AMOMA and taking the payment for the room, I did NOT get the room... BUT they did charge my credit card. Will call my credit card company and file a bogus charge! They will have to eat it!

Amoma left me stranded in New Orleans on my 10th wedding anniversary with no hotel. My husband & I never get away from our kids. In fact, the last getaway for the two of us without our children was 10 years ago on our wedding night. We couldn't wait to spend a night in New Orleans, just the two of us. However, that didn't hapoen at the hotel we booked through Amoma. We prepaid, cofirmed our reservations, & drove 2 hours away only to be told we were out of luck & the hotel was full. Thanks a lot amoma. A rep claimed to be rounding us our miney. We shall see if that happens...

I booked a hotel for a very popular time in Washington, DC. It was a prepaid, guaranteed rate. 2 months after booking, I was contacted by aroma.com saying they couldn't honor my reservation at that facility and there no other facilities available.

I now must pay a rate that is $300 higher, per night, because they failed to honor their commitment.

An eloborate scam
October 21, 2016

This company probably does a good booking sometimes and for some people they are probably good.

I made the mistake of booking via amoma.com, which I now regret since I´m short 649 swedish krona (approx. $69). The homepage is simple enough; they have great prices for most of the time, BUT.

When I was checking out and wanting to pay with Paypal, the only way was with a creditcard. So, after you make the transaction, they submit a cost for paying with a creditcard (how the h-ll does that?), which makes the total $30 higher. There is also information that it will be a $38 cancelling-fee if it will come to that, fine (this is not uncommon).

I then changed my mind, after reading all the horror-stories about people getting stranded after booking with amoma.com and decided to cancel my booking. And now comes the big BUT. When you get the refund amoma.com keeps the cancelling fee ($38, this I knew) but they also keep the creditcard-fee! When I cancelled the sum was higher than when the cancellation went through. I have printouts of this behavior as proof that they are scammers that change the cost to scam people of extra money when cancelling.

My tip is to stay as far away as possible from amoma.com! $68 in total for my stupidity of trying to save a couple of bucks.

I will reclaim this cost from my creditcard-company and also file a complaint for online-scamming.

I never used Amoma but they charged my VISA debit card $85. Never put this information on their website, I knew their website after checking my bank statement and it says AMOMA.COM charged $85. I opened fraud case and waiting for investigation. They will be sent to jail soon and close down their business operation.

Learned my lesson on booking with a third-party. Nonrefundable and canceling cost money. They actually advertise the "best priced hotels", yet won't match hotels price. Resort fees are not even included, which are with direct reservations. Less than average customer service. Never respond to e-mails and wait times to speak to customer service are horrendous. Poor company overall on pleasing customers.

I traveled with a colleague on a business trip to Berlin last month. We booked 2 hotel rooms for 6 nights. We ended up completing our trip quicker than expected and only stayed in Berlin for 4 nights. The hotel mentioned that they would have reimbursed us 100% of the remaining unused hotel nights for the 2 rooms, but it was out of their hands since we booked through Amoma. Amoma informed me over the phone that they would honor the hotel's refund policy if i provided them with our checkout slip showing that we checked out early and contact information for a person at the hotel to confirm the hotel's refund policy.

Needless to say, over a month later, I've been contacting Amoma EVERY DAY requesting my promised refund or an update at a minimum. All I've received over the past 33 days is a response to one of my several dozen emails informing me that my request is being looked into.

I would highly recommend that you save yourself the hassle that I'm experiencing and DON'T use Amoma. Book directly with the hotel to cut out the middle man and ensure you receive the refund that your due if you end up in the situation that I'm in.

I'm sure Amoma will post a response below this stating that they're very sorry to hear about my displeasure, and they'll work to resolve the issue, as they have for every other negative post on here. Unfortunately, an apology isn't as good as the $700 refund that I'm due.

UPDATE: I received my refund after 63 days of follow ups.

EXCELLENT
October 13, 2016

I feel like a lot of people feel jaded about the hotel they booked and are taking it out on AMOMA. Buyer's remorse, you know. AMOMA brings you listings. It's YOUR job to research those listings and to make an informed purchase. All that being said, I'd like to get to my own review of AMOMA. I ended up having to cancel my vacation at an expensive 4 star resort because of hurricane Matthew. And despite signing several agreements saying that all sales were final and that there were no refunds, and despite my cancellation being AFTER the time allotted to buyer's to make changes to their reservations, they still processed my request and gave me a full refund. My claim was handled by a very helpful lady named Claire. She was patient, knowledgeable, and sincere. She reminded us that we did sign a no-refund agreement, and that it was passed the date for cancellation or adjustment, but promised to do everything within her power to help us. She personally made the call to the hotel, she took care of everything. Within 24 hours, she resolved our situation and I was so grateful to have booked through AMOMA and to have had such a WONDERFUL person helping us. I leave for both Claire and AMOMA a 5-star rating and a glowing review. We will DEFINITELY be rebooking through this website in the future, and I can only hope I will have someone as amazing as Miss Claire to help us again in the future, should we ever need it.

In Italy looking for a hotel near Rome's airport, booker it after several attempts to change their preset date of arrival.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. GET OUT OF THEIR SITE IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TAKING YOUR MONEY! When it finally, their lousy website locked in my dates and the hotel I wanted, I had to wait a couple of days for their confirmation email. When I received it, it had their preset date and when I tried costumer service they said that it wasn't refundable and though luck.
THIEVES THIEVES THIEVES.

I guess I was lucky
October 6, 2016

I am going to Vienna later this year and was looking at hotels on various sites. Found Amoma.com and the rates for one hotel was amazing. Their price for the room including breakfast was 385 euros and with all other sites it was 650 or 700 euros. I booked it and I got the confirmation very quickly. Then I started to read about Amoma.com and saw all the dreadful reviews and got very worried. I e-mailed the hotel 2 days later but they did in fact confirm my reservation and I have an e-mail from them with their booking ref so I assume all is ok. I guess I am lucky as it seems it could have been a lot worse. Normally I book with Hotels.com and never ever had any problems.

I recently booked a hotel room, through this site, and i landed at room (downtown San Antonio, TX) for 4 nights/5 days for $38 per night (including taxes-subtotal less than $200).
It's important to review your reservations, no matter what website you book through, to make sure that your check in and out date are correct.
Secondly, with this site, after you officially book your room (s), it's important to call the hotel that you'll be staying with, the very next day, to confirm your reservations, AND any special room request.
Lastly, you MUST PRINT OUT YOUR RESERVATION, THAT THIS SITE EMAILED TO YOU AND PRESENT THE PRINTOUT TO THE HOTEL. People it's not rocket science, read and follow instructions before trying to call this company a scam.

Aroma takes credit card info and deducts the amount immediately. They send a confirmation notice and printout to present at hotel. All three are within minutes of booking. From that point they are absolved of all responsibility. Doesn't matter if hotel is never contacted about the reservation... it isn't their responsibility. Everything thing is jobbed out to third or fourth parties. I now use "hotel.com" for all hotel reservation. They don't take money up front and allow free cancellation within 24 hours of the reservation. Hotel.com is legitimate... Amona is a scam operation.

FRAUD SITE
September 19, 2016

The worst travel site ever!
I use travel sites on a regular basis at least twice a month & the experience i received from Amoma was the worst ever!
Firstly they book me on wrong days & to change the dates they're charging me 99% of my booking amount.
Despite numerous emails they send me a standard email reply with absolutely no clarifications or even remorse for getting our travel dates wrong!

Avoid like the plague; pay a few dollars more but steer clear of these fraudsters!

Lamentable trato
September 15, 2016

Dreadful site
September 10, 2016

Booked a hotel through Amoma I pushed one element of the date wrongly. Phoned them straight away within 10 minutes. They charged me £40 pound to change it, so I cancelled the whole thing, charged me for this as well.
Will never book anything with them again.
