Ordered 3 weeks ago and nothing had been dispatched. Tried to contact them and always get the same response "there has been a delay". Nice work Zavvi I am aware of this.
No offer to sort the problem, no refund, and no product... seems to be the definition of a scam to me?
Ordered a limited edition blu ray box set, of which arrived damaged in a very poor bubble wrap postage. I had to pay the return postage.
Now The item is stuck in customs with very expensive custom fee which Zavvi are not willing to pay.
Very disappointed.
P. S This is not the first time I have received items received damaged.
NEVER AGAIN
I placed my order on 11/1 with estimated shipping on 11/4. I paid for upgraded tracked shipping, and now it is 11/7 WITHOUT ANY MOVEMENT on my order. I contacted Customer Service on 11/5 about this, and was told it would take up to 5 days for them to respond. Today, I contacted the live chat and was told that I needed to remind them in 45 mins and come back then. I feel like the entire site is a joke and Customer Service is completely unhelpful. I have attached photos of my chat transcript from today. I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE TO AVOID THIS COMPANY! I am so disappointed.
Was just about to hit the order button but checked reviews and was shocked at how many people have reported terrible trouble with Zavvi on internet.
Their US website does not tell the consumer whether or not their 3D DVDs are region a which would be US compatible. Could not get a full refund when they shipped me a region B
Ordered a Bluray set from them. Next day I realized that the person I bought it from had the set already so contacted them about what I could do about returning the item once it arrived. They wouldn't even communicate with me - claimed the order came from another account on their UK site even though I logged in and communicated with them solely from the links in my order e-mail. They wouldn't provide me any means of direct contact, I could only use their online system and they stopped responding after I asked them multiple times to direct me to where they would resolve the issue.
Normally, I would continue to pursue a company up until the point of legal action. The fact that they are apparently located in the UK (and away from US legal authority) and the fact that they simply refused to even respond made it very difficult. I ended up selling the item locally for the price I paid fairly quickly and so it is not worth my energy to pursue.
I highly recommend everyone stay away from this company, they have absolutely no customer service and will not respond with anything constructive.
Oh - not to mention package arrived 2 weeks after the tail end of their delivery window.
Imagine you order a Christmas jumper for a work prank, for Christmas. You pay an expensive delivery charge for it to arrive barely in time. Ordered the 25th of November and arrives Thursday the 13th, and you finish work for Xmas hols on the 20th, at least you can get one or 2 uses out of it. But alas, like the good king Wenceslas they sent the wrong item. Considering they've colossally messed up your surprise you'd expect a touch of sympathy and deep apologies go rectify their mess... no, if I have the cheek to ask for respectable recompense I have to jump through a series of hoops to expect a refund, and also they don't even send you the details of how to do this as to push the envelope of the return times and so you probably won't eve qualify for a refund. Absolutely the sneakiesy and lowest company I've had the displeasure to be screwed by.
I replied to their email (below) telling them i gound their terms unnaceptable and they responded by emailing me incomplete return instructions as obviously mentioned.
Do not order time sensitive or seasonal or promotional items unless you want to feel dissapointment.
Awful company. Marketing emails sent make no sense and are written badly. The people know nothing about films or the products they are selling. The social media people, especially those on twitter, ended up blocking me for calling them out on something. Use Amazon.
I paid about $10 extra for a shipment to have tracking with an estimated delivery between 5-8 business days. They shipped the package via regular courier with delivery estimated between 10-14 days. When I asked for a refund on my shipping purchases, I received zero compensation and was told that "I tend to find as well that parcels are delivered in around 1 to 2 weeks although the figure on the site should be more accurate."
Should have done some research first.
You think Zavvi are cheap to buy from, but really just avoid them, no customer service of any kind. The seem to just want to rip you off or wear you down, to give up. I marked them 1 star, as theres no minus 10 option.
Contacted Zavvi to return a faulty item.
When you send a message via their web site, you get an auto reply in your personal email address also. But when an actual agent replies. Guess what you dont get a mail to your personal email. Only to their web site inbox for your account. So you message them and think you will get a email reply to your mail. Nope! Talk about confusing for starters.
After I figured this out, they wanted photos, which was pointless. Sent them anyway via there message hub. Then I got message to my personal email returns info would follow. But guess what? No returns info sent. Requested it 7 times or so, but nothing. Checked my email to see if there address was marked as spam etc, all good.
Funny how the system can email you the auto reply. But the returns info and any other messages dont. After countless tries I asked for a supervisor to phone me, many times... But nothing. Asked them to try another email address, nothing?. In the end I changed my email address on my account. Requested returns and finally it came through. All in only took nearly two months.
So all good then? NO!
I noticed after using their returns paperwork and returns tracked free post labels. That I had never got the money back for the item.
Messaged them about it, they asked for returns info. I had sent it a month and a half ago. So of course I didnt have the proof of postage still (silly me).
I check my emails and found the returns labels etc. There was a tracking number so I checked it. Guess what they signed for it 4 days later. But claim to never of seen it.
One agent said we need to find the parcel in our warehouse, but how is that my issue? I have proven its been returned, one thing they need to do now refund me.
I left a review elsewhere and Zavvi responded. They said they were sorting my refund. They never did, fake con artists I think."
Involving Paypal and Trading Standards now
Ordered item said it was sent out the same day - courier (Hermes - groan) states it returned item to sender. Contacted Zavvi no response. Contacted again still waiting. Website says a cancellation was initiated - it wasn't.
Not a great showing - avoid - not worth the risk - you can get much better service elsewhere.
Last Christmas I bought two products.
A sweatshirt and a ZBOX. The sweatshirt is completely different from the image on the site, so I ask for a refund. After 3 months they tell me they have done it but they do not have a receipt nor a PayPal refund ID. They ask me to prove that I have not received a refund, so I send the screens where there is no credit from them and they reply: "ok, the technical department confirms that your refund has been made but we have no proof".
Absurd. I work for an e-commerce and I know for sure that at every refund there is a confirmation from PayPal.
By the way, the ZBOX since December 2016 has never been sent to me, I asked a couple of weeks ago to cancel the order and refund, never received this either.
A very bad customer care and shameful assistance. I will never buy from Zavvi again.
Awful service, one of the worse services and companies I have come across.
How are they still in business?
I made an order, within minutes I cancelled it, due to placing the incorrect address. Then placed the same order, paid again with the correct information.
Hence paid twice for the same order.
Although it was cancelled within minutes, I left them numerous messages not to dispatch it, as I wont be able to receive it. I had spoken to more than 4 people in the organisation (Not by phone, as they dont have a contact number).
They informed me, when they dispatch just send it back.
My obvious response was.
How can I send it back, if it is going to the wrong address? Hence DON"T SEND IT!
Yet after 24 hrs, they still sent it.
So incompetent, so ridicules, such a dirty scam...
Zavvi is part of THE HUT GROUP COMPANY (They are all crooked thieves) dont deal with any of them.
Last year on Black Friday, I purchased these goosebumps DVDs for my daughters Christmas. Thought it was a great offer considering the full amount of £100 (or so the said) so after a couple of weeks it said there was a payment problem so not thinking about it I paid again! So as time kept going on I was checking for progress to see if this item has been dispatched but for weeks just kept saying in process. So I emailed them and they said due to Black Friday there was a lot to be dispatched so anyway I continue to wait and wait and nothing. Then just before Christmas I get an email to say that I wouldnt receive this item before Christmas as there was none in stock, however offered me a refund I said that I would just wait till more where back in stock (would have kept it but for skye birthday next month) now baring in mind that In my emails I was offered a refund and that they couldnt see I had made 2 payments only one and that my item would be dispatched when more stock was available but now to my surprise theres a payment problem again after a couple of weeks of telling me they could see I paid This website is an absolute scam and I would avoid it at all cost guys!
How bad can a company get ordered Game of thrones special build set and t-shirt 3 months not arrived and all I get as an answer is waiting for stock. Ordered again a Star wars t-shirt for Christmas for my son and Mystery box guess what box shipped so they can grab some cash but no t-shirt and again just waiting stock as an excuse they are a con been bitten twice never again

After thinking about it, what can one expect from a company that has gone into liquidation at least 4 times..(only found this out after ordering)
Very disappointing. Received an email offering "20% off entire site until midnight". This is a great offer as normally its 5-15% at best. I spent the next 1.5 hours choosing products, eventually ordering a games console, some dvds and a an xmas gift. Had to spend the time as it was a one day deal and i only had a few hours left to use it. (The best offers are always short). Completed checkout. Code was ACCEPTED. Paid and got email confirmation of processing. All good.
Next morning got an email saying they made a mistake with the pricing and had cancelled the order. I got no explanation as to WHAT the mistake was. They said i could re order at the correct pricess on the website but as i wasnt told what ones were wrong, how could i could i order again when all the prices were the same still?
I emailed customer service to ask for an explanation for what was wrong. Also to ask if they could offer me the 20% offer again so i could order the items.
Waited 2 days and got a reply. They said the problem was the offer should not have allowed me to buy items that are already discounted. Meaning i can only buy full price items with 20% off. They told me all my items were already discounted so the offer should not have applied to me. Thats a lie anyway as one of my items was in fact full price... This means they either didn't bother checking properly or its just an excuse... They pointed out they can cancel orders as its in their T&C's. Only concession they offered me was that i could have the 20% voucher again if i bought full price items... This wont help as so many of their items have a have "fake" price that is reduced heavily. This means you cant really buy anything so is a rip off.
I had no alternative to offer 1 star as i wasted so much time and got nothing other than angry.

Why do you scam people? I bought a product from you a year ago and haven't received it and you claim there was a payment issue a year later after I already paid you?
So poor, they dangle items in front of you, take orders, make all sorts of promises, but take WEEKS to deliver goods, if they deliver at all. Last order of mine made on Sept. 5th, still not received a month later.
And when I say last order, I MEAN last order.
Customer support is just full of auto-responses and meaningless platitudes that really just translate as 'we'll send it when we send it'.
Embarrassingly poor for a company trading in a global, online, Amazon Prime-led marketplace.
Strongly recommend people to not waste their time and effort, just to be disappointed.
Ordered PES18, estimated time was 5 days, waited 20+ days still no delivery, now they are telling me to send the order back after I canceled it when I never even received it in the first place. Basically they said the order should arrive OCT 7. Sent the email that I want to cancel the order, and somehow magically order is now waiting in my post? Scammed by a popular shop, well that's something to keep in mind that you don't like canceling orders. But do you realise that people wait for orders extra time and still don't receive them because of your bad customer service? And yes I still haven't received the refund.
Answer: They frequently sell things that are pit of stock to secure your money in their accounts for as long as possible.
Answer: I felt the same way! Nowhere on the site does it say 30 days until you get your product. Then you can live chat but they avoid the questions that are most important. Then you try to contact then through email and you get blown off that way too. Then I read the reviews here. I didn't think I'd get it anytime soon. My order came in 4 days after purchase! Just got it. I may give them another chance. Hang in there!
