It is so fun to be able to have these at my fingertips and share the with my kids so they can show their children. There are a couple that are just static so that is a bummer.
This is the second time I have utilized this service for my videos. Unfortunately there are several videos that are completely unable to watch. I did call about it and was offered a refund on those videos. I did not do this, I am going to review when I get a chance, and see if there is anything to salvage.
The communication every step of the way made the transaction seamless. And the older vhs tapes we submitted turned out great. However, the newer VHS tapes had so much feedback that they were hard to watch. The originals do not have that when we play them at home.
It took a couple week for me to build up the courage to let go of our family's tapes. Sending them across the country was scary. But the discount offer during the holiday season was too good to be true. I sent off half of the tapes I had, and waited. It seem like a long time when it really wasn't. We were delighted to when I downloaded the app and enjoyed reminiscing those memories. After receiving my original tapes. I packed up the remained of the tapes we had. I'm delighted to receive the remainder of our memories to share with my family. Thank You
I regret using this service, and I don't recommend it. Many of my transfers had significant issues (jumpy picture, constant tracking lines) making them unwatchable. I contacted support, and they agreed they were bad, but said I couldn't have a refund because I had already downloaded the files. Since I got the tapes back I have been retransferring them myself, and they are coming out perfect, so it's not the tapes. I never ask for refunds or write reviews, but I feel obligated to write this to make sure you are aware of their refund policy.
My experience:
Jan 28 - I got an email saying "Your 1st digitized memory from your iMemories order is online." I downloaded the videos and saw that, while most had minor tracking issues that I assumed were unavoidable, 9 of 40 were really bad. But my order status said some of the transfers were being reprocessed, so I trusted they were fixing it.
Feb 15 - I got an email saying my order was finished. I downloaded the videos again and saw the same issues. I don't know if these were the ones they were reprocessing, so I sent support an email with a list of the 9 bad ones and asked if they needed reprocessing too.
Feb 18 - I got an email saying "I have reviewed the captures and I can certainly see that it is not clear at all, and for that, I sincerely apologize." then "Unfortunately, the capture you are seeing represents the best quality we could achieve from that specific tape." I replied saying I understand, it happens, and asked for a refund for just those tapes.
Feb 19 - I got an email saying "I see that you have downloaded the albums, taking possession of the captures and the work that our team performed. Unfortunately, because the digital content has been accessed and downloaded, a refund cannot be processed at this time." That's crazy, right? Why would I ask for a refund for a video I haven't "accessed"? Or maybe they're saying I could have had a refund if I clicked the button to watch it in the browser instead of the button to download it to my computer? If so, that seems even crazier.
Feb 23 - I bought a capture device to redo the 9 "bad ones." They're all transferring perfectly, so I can confidently say it's not the tapes. It takes a long time for me to do it myself, so I don't really recommend it. But they're turning out so well that I'm going to keep going and redo all 40, or I'll always resent the quality of the transfers I didn't replace.
Edit: they called me an hour after I left this review. I accepted the 9 tape refund I initially asked for, declined a full refund, and declined any reprocessing. I gave the feedback that if a refund was justified then it should have come from the initial support interaction and not a negative review.
IMemories has been nothing short of outstanding—every single step of the process! Even with a 60% discount, it was pricey. However, my siblings and I now have access to watching the 38 8mm home movies my parents took in the mid 60's and 70's. We are 100% satisfied! If you need any assistance, iMemories customer service people are absolutely wonderful! You won't be disappointed!
This is my 3rd time to send things in at iMemories and I have one more being processed now. I highly recommend them. It is a bit expensive and very hard to initially let my memories go but it is completely worth it. Communication is the best which gave me peace of mind. I pay for their cloud which is very affordable plus I download. It makes looking at the past so easy and I can get rid of photo albums and bins holding various sizes of video giving me much needed space for other things.
The quality of the work was very disappointing to me. You said your company could increase the quality of my product but you didn't. One looks like someone pushed the fast forward button.
IMemories has digitized dozens of home movies that we thought were lost forever. I have not had any issues and would highly recommend their services.
We sent in 34 video tapes to have them converted to digital. Once they were completed, we downloaded them onto a computer hard drive. A couple of my videos had static interference that I thought would have been better after converting, but they weren't. Another one the volume was very low after converting. I am not totally sure how it was before converting. Overall, I'm glad we had it done. It is quite expensive, though.
I have limited experience with services like iMemories. I also have oodles of old slides, etc. to digitize. I don't think iMemories sent back everything in the same "bundles" that I created, so I would recommend sending small batches in at a time - because some reorganization of materials - both the newly digitized and the originals will require reorganization. It was a good first step to dealing with a huge project. I will continue to use iMemories to help with the task!
I was nervous at first sending my precious VHS tapes to you but I have to admit it was a great experience. I had no issues and have recommended your company to others.
I have been gradually digitizing my dad's photo slides. These photos mean volumes to my family. I think there were 800+ slides this time. I couldn't believe how quickly they were turned around! All originals returned safely. Excellent communication along the way! Talking with real people! Thank you for that!
I had a series of VHS tapes, along with two camcorder cassettes that needed to be converted to digital. IMemories made this so easy... they sent a FedEx box, I mailed in the videos, and I before long I got a message from them, telling me they had received them and giving me an invoice. I was able to choose different options, and then I paid the invoice. Eventually, I got messages that the digital versions of my videos were ready. Apparently one video was somewhat poor quality, but they went ahead and upgraded the processing for free. I am so happy to get my videos, and they are all now saved on a external hard drive for me. And then, I received a box with the original videos in the mail. I'm so glad I did this!
Good service but the catch is you have to save them yourself within 30 days or pay even more to either have I Memories send copies or pay a monthly fee to view them in the cloud. In hindsight I may have been better off with Legacybox or another service.

As an iMemories customer you’re welcome to download and save your memories to your own computer or devices at no charge during the access period. The cloud subscription, DVDs and USB drives are completely optional and are there for customers who prefer long-term storage or extra backups without the need to manage files themselves.
If you have questions about storage or need help saving your files, our customer care team is always happy to help.
IMEMORIES did excellent work in converting my VHS tapes. So happy to see these precious moments again and again and knowing they are preserved to be passed down is the best feeling!
I had a VHS to DVD converter, but the process was VERY tedious. IMemories took care of transferring my VHS tapes to streaming. I was able to share with my son who lives out of state. VERY happy with the results!
I recently sent iMemories six reels of old (1970s) standard 8mm movie reels. They successfully digitized them and provided an opportunity to download them. It was extremely satisfying and fun to see these old family memories again.
This has been so easy. IMemories returned all my video tapes in perfect condition. Imemories lableled events like I had them labeled originally which was very helpful in choosing what to view. They made all instructions v very easy to follow.
I received 50% off of each item sent, but some of the old reels only had 3 or 4 minutes on them. Even at 50%, I thought that was way too expensive. I did appreciate them uploading them while they were completing my order so that I could view them on my phone. I felt the shipping cost was too expensive also.
Hi Charlene,
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Even with the 60% discount applied, we understand how disappointing it can feel to realize that each 50-ft film reel contains only about three minutes of footage. That can certainly make the cost feel harder to justify.
We also know that shipping costs can add to that frustration, especially when you’re already making an investment to preserve such meaningful memories.
If you’d like, we’d truly welcome the opportunity to talk through how the pricing works or review your order together in more detail. Your feedback genuinely matters to us, and our goal is for every customer to feel confident and cared for throughout the entire experience.
