When accepting orders VitalChek does not inform you that they cannot obtain older records, 20 years for deaths, 75 years for births. Thus you are waiting for a month for the process to fail while they hold your money, and then you have to spend many hours on the phone finding out what the problem was. Hold times on the phone are typically 30 minutes for each call and that adds up when you have to try multiple departments. I spent over 2 hours trying to get answers and the first suggestion was not even valid. VitalChek is one step above a total scam and should not be handling government business. All government department phones are forwarded to VitalChek so you have to trouble shoot the failed process. DISGUSTING.

Whether we wanted to or not, we needed a copy of an important document ASAP, and who you gonna trust, VitalCheck, that's who. My biggest concern was trusting a 3rd party to deliver my document I needed to pass my DL renewel. Wasn't their fault I'm having to bend over backwards on this DL renewel that required a visit into my DMV. Vital Check can be trusted! And they deliver withing the time frame they tell you of. I Got it 2 days earlier than expected. Beautiful copy. The whole system could be better to speed up the time it takes to receive it, the whole time waiting while not being able to legally drive, work school, family etc. But, it's what we have to work with, and VitalCheck comes through for ya!

I used VitalCheck to order a copy of my son's birth certificate. It was easy and fast and I was able to pick up the document the next day. Perfect for my needs! Highly recommend! Will use again if needed.

I received my birth certificate quickly. That was very good so I placed another order for my primary birth certificate since the one I received is my secondary birth certificate. Other than that, the service is very reliable.

TLDR; VitalChek denies service to trans people.

VitalChek refuses to work with trans people who have had name changes. I ordered a replacement copy of my son's birth certificate. My name had been legally changed after the birth certificate was issued. I submitted my legal name change paperwork as part of the process, as well as my current identification, and a letter clearly explaining why the name was changed.
I was still denied a new copy of the certificate. I was not asking for anything to be updated on it, just a new copy issued. I asked how this was any different then someone getting married and changing thier name and was told that it simply was and they will not issue.

It took a month to order my birth certificate. However it only took a week to receive my birth certificate. You have to make sure the card you're using has no issues for verification purposes. Once I straightened tbh gs out on my end. It was simple fast and the tracking method was beyond reassuring. I'd recommend vital chek to anyone entering the armed services who need their birth certificate without a doubt! Great Job vital chek!

Needed copies of my mother's death certificate, this made it simple and as painless as possible.

I needed a new copy of my birthcertificate. When I searched on how to get one, VitalChek was presented in a way to imply that they were the only option. I paid my my $30+ and put in the request. Then I waited and waited so long that I forgot I was waiting. 6+ months in, I put in a support ticket. The response was "the state is behind on processing. You ordered in July 2023, and the state has only processed to December of 2023" What? Did they even read what they wrote? I called support and waited on hold for HOURS, to have the support rep agree that what the email support rep said made no sense, and she would look into it. That was late Feburary 2024. In May, I finally just did a charge back. June 2024 I decided I needed to go ahead and solve this once and for all. Did more in depth searching on getting a replacement birth certificate. Turns out that the register of deeds in the county I was born in was able to have one created and delivered to me within 4 days, for 1/2 the price Vitalchek wanted. STAY AWAY FROM VITALCHEK.

Last Update: After uploading over a dozen documents proving that I am my mother's son and getting the same generic response each time that they needed "further documentation", I went to the Southern Nevada Health District who pulled up my my mother's records and said they shouldn't be asking me for any of that. Only my ID was needed which was the original ID I provided. SNVD proceeded to approve my request I sent through their website and I had the death certificate within about a week. To add insult to injury, Vitalcheck then charged my card for $14 twice. They say it is a convenience fee. I say it's a scam. They do nothing and receive $14 free money. I am going to start campaigning to get them removed from the states website. If you have had the same problems with them, please email the Governor. If you haven't dealt with them, don't. Just go to the SNHD website and avoid them all tougher. They are just a big scam.

Update: I emailed them as asked for in their response and after 3 days they respond with, "we need your birth certificate". My birth certificate has been uploaded since the first time I submitted it. I guess I will wait another 3 days for them to respond again with probably the same answer. I need to find out how to start a campaign to get them removed from providing this service. This is beyond crazy. Stay tuned. It is now my mission in life and will help everyone else in Nevada.

Original Review: My fiancé attempted to use them to get his father's death certificate and I attempted to use them to get my mother's. Even though I am listed on her death certificate and should be able to order copies at any time, they would never order them. I just continue to get emails saying they haven't received acceptable documents. Same thing my fiancé would receive. Nothing saying what was wrong or what additional copies were needed. Ridiculous. Just go directly through your state and avoid the fees and aggravation.

I did not know that Vitalchek sent my birth certificate. I thought NYC sent it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! My birth certificate was delivered promptly &

I got my long form birth certificate they processed, shipped and I received it in 3 days time. That's real fast and the price is reasonable

Do not spend your money here. It's a scam.
I ordered a birth certificate from here, and even though I filled out everything to their specifications, there was something issue that prevented it from being processed. After well over a month I decided to check on the status of my order. It said 'waiting to be processed, 1 - 2 business days'. A week later, same thing. I called them, waited an hour on hold, hung up and sent an email. After a few emails back and forth they told me they cant process it because i didn't list my fathers name. That's info I don't have access to and furthermore that's an option on the website. Even though I paid extra for an expedited response, they didn't feel the need to let me know they 'couldn't process my order'. Which is exceedingly lazy and unprofessional. Currently demanding either a refund or for them to send the birth certificate, also considering legal action. Notice their potential response wont address my grievances nor those of countless others that have been endlessly jerked around by this company. They take your money, and they sit on it. You won't get your documents. I'll change my review, when they change their business practices.
