Please do not waste your time or money on this service. It is terrible! I requested a birth certificate and have been waiting for over a month. I still have not received the document. I've attempted to call on several occasions and cannot connect with anyone. How long can COVID be used as an excuse to not pick-up the phone? Fortunately, I found a local office that is run by a neighboring county which was open to service my request. I was in an out within 10 minutes.

I paid over $104 for a certified copy of marriage certificate in NC on 6/12. Still in processing. Then after I received it, it would then need to go to an Apostille. WTH! Needed it for visa. Emailed them for update on 6/29. No reply until 7/9, Here is the reply:

As of today, the order has been processing for 17 business days. It can the NC office 25-30 business days to work on the order before they ship it out.

Since I did not get a reply in a couple days I researched ( yes, a bit too late) only to see the really bad reviews. I immediately got to work in getting this document myself. Got the Certified Marriage Certificate and had Apostilled in NC via mail within a week. Paid $10 for certificate and $10 for Apostille, plus overnight shipping cost. Still way less than $104+. Needed shipped to the UK, which was why I seeked assistance from them.
NOT SURE what the hold up is, or the cost is for. STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY ORDER FROM THEM. Tried to cancel, which by the way they answered that email straight away. A big fat NO of course.

Worse company ever. I sent for my brothers death certificate on June 21st and it was approved, it said i would get it approx on July 7th. Then I get an email saying it's delayed. I called and sat on the phone for 2 hours before someone answered the phone. I asked why it was delayed and she said "I don't know". I waited for a couple more days and today I found out it was canceled. I called and was on the phone waiting for another 2 hours and they said they didn't get all the pages of the will. My fax said they got 6 pages that was all that there was. It seems to me someone didn't pick up all the pages so today I sent all 6 pages with a cover letter 10 times. I need that death certificate to be able to take my brothers ashes to the cemetary. I can NOT wait. I paid you people 112.00 this problem!

DO NOT order from them. Go to your local agency,'it is worth it. It's been 3 months and I'm just receiving my order. I've called a number of times with no answer. I am seeking a refund, and of course, that's slow as well. Save the headache. Go elsewhere!

Please do not use this company it is a rip-off it's been 55 days and I'm still waiting on my birth certificate I've sent numerous emails day after day after day for over 30 days with one response was an old email talking about social distancing in Michigan we no longer have social distance in the Michigan this company is a scam do not use you will be better off using someone else

There is no benefit to using VitalChek. After having a newborn, I started the process of ordering a birth certificate in June of 2021. My state had not yet opened their Vital Records office for in-person transactions and gave me the option to submit via mail or use the "online purchasing option" - VitalChek. Of course I opted to submit the request digitally, hoping it would be easier and faster, and even paid for the rush order. Unfortunately, after submitting payment and starting the process, it became clear that VitalChek's "online" option is basically a short questionnaire filled out digitally rather than on paper that ultimately results in you needed to get a form notarized and faxed (rather than an actual online submission). Even worse, 10 days after submitting the fax, I received an email from VitalChek at 3am saying that there was an issue with my notarized form which could be due to a number of issues - but without specifying what the actual issue was. The email advised me to resubmit a notarized form as soon as possible. When I clicked the "contact us" button on their website, they gave me the number of my Vital Records office (meaning they provided absolutely no support or information themselves). Do not use Vitalchek.

I should have researched the reviews before I even gave them my credit card information. I filled out the application via online and agreed to the $37 fee. However, when they confirmed my order they add an additional fee for same day WITHOUT my permission. There wasn't even a section for that throughout the application. I called them 6 times and every time I would be placed in hold and then they would hang up. I had to dispute the charge on my end. Still waiting for an update. Honestly don't waste your time. Might as well do it directly through the county.

Not a scam, but a sham company, should be able to sue the government for things like this. Took more than a month to receive birth certificates necessary for visa application, despite 10-15 day expected arrival. When i called after a month they said they would have to be 'reminded', that was after being put on hold for 4.5 hours, then dropped from my call, then calling again first thing two days in a row until finally someone was able to confirm a shipment. It doesn't look like refunds are available. A birth certificate is not a product, it should be free, and if it's not, there should be a way to hold companies like this accountable for screwing everyone over.

Not only is it difficult to get ahold of a representative but I received my son's birth certificate crumbled and with a hole. Do not use

It's scam. You will lose money and time. Ordered birth certificate in NYC for my son in April 2021. Website saying it was shipped 1 month ago. No birth certificate still and Vital check does not respond to e-mails and phones calls. NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene hanging up phone on me with this issue.

I ordered a birth certificate through them and it took UPS weeks to deliver. I used this service because I needed the replacement certificate quickly and I received it TWO weeks later and it came to me sliced in half and in horrible condition. The UPS envelope was in tact but not the certificate that I paid much too much money for. I am thoroughly upset and pissed beyond belief. I would include the photo but it's a birth certificate. I am certain they want to blame UPS but this service shares the brunt of the horrible service.

Paid the fee on Oct 5,2020, and I never received the birth certificate or not even any update as to the application. That was 7 months ago. It can't take that long to press and button and print out a birth certificate. Their support phone number is disconnected and any contact emails only go to the ether world. Unfortunately, NYC directs any applicant thru its Bureau of Records to use exclusively VitalCecheck -- a Lexis/Nexis subsidiary because of Covid 19. Given VitalCheck's incompetence, New York should cancel this contract.

Thought i was paying 50 dollars for a birth certificate and all i received was a one-page basic form they filled out for me. I was then responsible for sending the form and paying another 60 bucks to get the certificate. Literally charged me 50 bucks for a 1 page form that takes 1 minute to fil out. RIP OFF

I tried to place an order for a birth certificate after I entered my credit card info it said order could not be completed and didn't receive an email so I tried a few more times and no email. A week and a half later I get 4 emails and they took the $12.95 4 times. A couple of them I tried to cancel and as soon as I did it took the $12.95 from my checking. I email customer service because it seems impossible to talk to anyone, and I've yet to hear back. I want 3 of my $12.95 payments back!

This company charged me for a death certificate I did not order and was charged supposedly nearly two weeks after supposedly making the order
I want my money back and I want it back ASAP

They have quite the monopoly set up with this racket, do yourself a favor and don't use them.
Without going into deep detail I can say they burned me.

I am trying to get a copy of my birth certificate. I send them all the information. I got an email to confirm the information. I called them. Hold time was approx 45 min. I verified all my information. I got an email that my order was shipped. Then I got a certificate saying that they didn't find it. No refund. I called them they insist I entered the wrong city. I have to apply again and pay again for them to send the information to NYC instead of NYS. Very frustrating.

I've placed an order for my daughters birth certificate back in December and it's never been delivered! They " claim" it was rejected and sent back February 16th! Why wasn't I contacted? They also stated maybe the post office has it or lost it. The post office said they never received it and i also have informed delivery so how is that possible? I see all my mail on my app before it gets to me! They are hiring a bunch of lazy dumb worker's that's not doing a damn thing but lying over the phone! I will get all of them fired!

Not only was the expected delivery time ridiculous they couldn't even guarantee that time line either. I ordered more then 100 days ago and have nothing yet. They can't even bother responding to inquires or provide any answer as to when I can expect to receive the Birth certificate. There Rep says there is nothing they can do
