I placed an order on July 22nd 2021 for my birth certificate. I was born in American Samoa! I read the negative reviews about VitalChek and took a risk. A month passed by and I was beginning to believe the negative reports. I checked the status of my order and one of the representatives told me to wait another 60 days for processing. I called the customer service line and was on hold for almost one hours and twenty minutes. After two weeks of constantly emailing their company- I accused of them of scamming me and wanted a refund. Unfortunately, they're not scam artists. This company is legit. I received my birth certificate today Sept 11,2021. Don't believe the negative reports about how they never received their birth certificate or it was torn to pieces when it arrived. The only thing that vitalcheck needs to work on is their customer service line. I am satisfied that this company fulfilled their part. I apologize for playing the irate customer. This is what happens when you fall victim to negative reports. Take it from me- Vitalcheck is legit-

I ordered 2 birth certificates for our newly adopted son. The order didn't go through yet my credit card was charged. I keep getting told to give them my order number and pin but I didn't get a confirmation email seeing as how the order didn't go through. Conveniently my credit card was charged. Due to COVID I was told this could take up to 5 months but since I waited so long, it's too late to dispute the charge on my credit card. Since I was charged I erroneously assumed they had my order. Customer service is pretty rude considering I have a right to request a refund for nothing.

A terrible company whom doesn't understand how to communicate with their customers along with shady practice while trying to steal your money. When you place one order, they secretly create two orders. They'll charge you the first one and when you give them all the information they need to send your documents to you. They will start processing the second phantom order. When you refuse to give them the information again, because you've already done it once, they will still charge you a processing fee. Even though you never made a second order.

I live 4 hours away from the county I I was born in and figured I would just use this service so it would be quicker and easier. The fees didn't seem unreasonable although I did pay an extra $20 for expedited shipping. I sent all of my notarized information via fax and they quickly sent me an email and charged my credit card and even sent me a notification stating that my package had been shipped with a UPS tracking number. Upon contacting them after not seeing my package for 8 days the customer service representative told me I needed to contact the County Records Office and they told me they hadn't even received the information from vitalchek yet. Needless to say their service is very slow and their customer service is very incompetent. I would check into the County Records Office first as it is cheaper and also found out that family members can pick up your birth certificate and mail it to you.

Had no choice but to use this company to obtain a copy of my marriage license. They charged me $60 up front and asked that I print a form and sign it with my husband in front of a notary. No big deal. We went and did that, uploaded the document, and received a response that our names were incorrect and we needed to start the process over. They weren't. I've been reaching out to Customer Service every single day trying to understand what they need to process our request. No one answers their phone (I'm sorry, but how long will companies use COVID as an excuse to literally ignore their customers' questions) and no one responds to support emails. Just be prepared to pay up front and not get what you paid for.

Don't order anything from here. They never give any response on time. For me it's been a month waiting for the response.
I submitted document perfectly well, all items are good however they still say a list of parameters are missing. A very generic reply but what is actually missing no on reply. I only got a call once initially from them to ask if I want to expedite so they can charge 20$ after that they never called. I am going to county office for a new application now. Don't be attracted by their ad which says #1 service, I tell you they don't deserve any rating. 0 rating #0 service

Placed order for B. Cert. With vitalchek on June 9, was told it could take as many as 40 BUSINESS days for it to be sent out with an expected delivery day of August 4. Today, August 23, was told it is now taking 60 BUSINESS days and is expected to be sent out on September 2nd, Meanwhile they charged my credit card approx. $68.00 almost three months ago even though my order hasn't shipped. Rating should be ZERO! Unfortunately that is not an option.

I'd give them a ZERO if I could. Kept getting auto messages sent stating "Sworn Statement not received" from VitalCheck. Called the County Record Dept. and they told me they had received it. Got 3 more messages from VitalCheck stating the same thing then got auto message stating they had cancelled my order because Sworn Statement was not received, EACH time I sent VitalCheck an email telling them it had been received. I had to contact the County Records office my self and they told me they have it and they would contact VitalCheck. After that, VitalCheck stated those are automated messages and we should've ignored them. REALLY? How is the customer suppose to know this. You pay for a computer, no real person. Tried calling them, got message that they are not answering at this time. All VitalCheck had to do was write or call the County Records office.

You need a Wedding Certificate or a Birth Certificate? SAVE YOUR MONEY. Use the USPS express mail, send the county the fee they request with a self addressed envelope. It will get to you just as fast and no headaches.

I received a certificate of marriage with the wrong date, 3 months after I submitted my request. No way to claim a refund. Email exchange is the only way to communicate and the number given for help does not allow you to talk to anyone.

I was very skeptical with all the bad reviews but I placed my order on august 7th, 2021 and got it today, august 10th, 2021. I did pay for expedited and they delivered!

In short…requested birth certificate, paid in full in June. It is now 09 August…. Went onto website with my order number and was directed to call the NEW YORK HEALTH DEPARTMENT…. Could have done that to begin with for a nominal fee.
This is a SCAM!

I've tried 3 times to get my birth certificate from this company and nothing. And trying to get ahold of a person or even an automated system is useless. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone

I am a divorced working mother of 5, raising my children by myself. Upon the decision to remarry, I ordered a copy of my divorce records from VitalChek. The only piece of information I do not have is the actual date of my divorce. I received an email from VitalCheck stating that my order cannot be completed. Upon my asking for a refund of my almost $70, I was told that they will not give me a refund even though they cannot provide the service I paid for.

I placed and order in March and STILL have not received my 2 birth certificates. They don't answer the phone bc of Covid? Since when can you catch Covid over the phone. RIDICULOUS.

They charge you before and do not deliver, but have excuses to cover their terrible service, what a waste of time, effort and money. I have had a root canal that was more enjoyable than trying to get service from this company.
