I had a cancelled order as the seller didn't ship in in time. When being contacted about the refund there was a difference of - price of purchase was $246.62, refund offered was $155.42. Not good enough!
I've been a member of VC for a few years, have bought and sold items. I want to love this website, but simply cannot.
As a buyer I have received blatantly fake items (like "graffiti" done with a Sharpie marker) that had been "authenticated" and approved. It was so fake that I didn't even need to take the item out of the packaging to see it's fake. I sent the item back for a second opinion and they reimbursed me, but I had expected some form of apology, since they failed to do the one single thing the community asks of them and pays them for - to check whether the item is authentic.
The problem boils down to this - the buyer has to independently be able to tell whether the item is authentic or not, otherwise VC will not help you. This is possible if the buyer knows the brand well, if the item is (still) available in stores and can be compared with the received purchase or (maybe) if it's a limited edition which would be difficult/expensive to copy. Otherwise, if you are shopping for a classic Chanel bag, let's say in black caviar leather, there are more chances than not that you'll be buying a fake. Hence the higher the price, the more risk you are taking on as a buyer.
And last point - VC only checks the items once they are sold and in their facilities. Some of the items on sale are so fake, that one can even tell from the photos posted. Not to mention Hermes/Chanel/etc items posted at 2-5% of their store value. VC doesn't not block these items, does not block sellers.
In short, VC is becoming eBay.
I placed an order for a pair of boots in SEPTEMBER. It is now November and I still do not have delivery of my item. I keep getting notices to confirm the address which has been done numerous times. Then I get a message that their 'delivery partner' cannot deliver to that address - with no explanation why. They are now threatening to donate my over $200 boots to charity with no explanation as to why they have not been delivered! Never again.
I purchased an item and for whatever reason, the carrier did not deliver to a parcel locker and just dropped it off in front of my apartment; item got stolen. Opened a case with vestiaire collective nearly TWO months ago. One month in, i was told that i would receive a refund by 1 october no matter what- that never happened.
About a week after that, i was told that the carrier officially confirmed the package lost- still no refund.
Nevermind the ridiculous length of time this simple issue is taking. The infuriating part is the misleading information the customer team is telling me. One person on the team says one thing, the next says somethign completely opposite.
In case you're wondering, the item i purchased was roughly $700 so its a pretty significant purchase.
I will never buy from these people again. The selection is great but the poor CX is just not worth the hassle anymore especially when there are other companies out there that provide a more seamless CX.

This place is fake and a scam! I have not received my order for almost two months now! I talked to 10 agents but it seems that they are all useless and worthless. The expert team is not expert at all! Order from The RealReal instead of this worthless site! They refused to refund my money. This company is not legit!
The most incompetent customer service team EVER! As a seller, the platform will never ever be on your side, and you will be left begging for your own money to be transferred to you.
I have sent the purchased item the next day after the purchase (on the 30th of September) via Direct Shipping.
A. Hermes delivery lost the package for 4 days.
B. It was delivered to a drop off location on the 8th and has been there ever since. (it is the 22nd now)
C. The buyer has been notified multiple times to collect the item (ONLY after I asked Vestiaire to, cos they don't do anything themselves)
D. I have now been contacting customer service for two weeks, with no resolution, no support, absolutely no accountability while the platform is still keeping and claiming MY MONEY.
The package has not been accounted for almost a month! It can literally be anywhere, in a puddle somewhere, getting stomped on, in a bin and yet SOMEHOW Vestiaire claims that it is still my responsibility and when or rather IF the customer collects it and something is wrong with it, it's my responsibility and I will not get paid for it! (It was a brand new item by the way, with all the tags, hygiene stickers, labels and a dust bag)! That is absolutely disgusting service, impossible to get. In touch with, they refuse to give me a contact email for a manager or a team leader and just say "it is what it is".
DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY.

Consider it a red flag if any company does not offer a telephone number. The only contact I received was through a chat mechanism. I purchased an item which is well over 4 weeks and I still do not have the item I sent an email and reached out to the seller. No response. I will never use this company again. So disappointed I will cancel my order.
I purchased a pair of shoes which was way too small even though was the size I am wearing. The saler should have been honest while describing the item, luckily, Vestiaire Collective allowed me to get a refund. Thank you
The system is so old and needs to be updated. I have tried to delete items from Favorites but the items are still appearing on my list and I get unwanted notifications from sellers. I have complained many times but they say that their system needs an upgrade... that's all. Also, if you need to return something it will take a long time for them to VC to even notify you or to process the return. The site has no record of the return info or the process so you have to keep on checking with them and getting on their chat forum. I have no news on when my refund will be processed. They said that it goes to one place, then another (for a second check) and then I'll be notified. There are much better sites than VC to shop from.

TERRIBELE service and more terrible customer support. Their people don't do their jobs at all. They ignore, block, dont answer questions, and even if you are lucky to get a reply - you will get a standart phrase that dont give you any info. They dont know how to do authentication of designer items, dont even communicate.
As a Seller I would NEVER recommend working with this marketplace. They make you pay money to get your item back through the wire transfer (not PayPal or other NORMAL way of payment). For already a second month I can not get back 4 of my items with total cost for over 1k (!) (even though I had to pay $98(!) for wire transfer for 4 returns).
I sent several emails starting from September 8,2021 to get my items back - received no response.
Somehow through online chat got 2 items back. Regarding other 2 items - nothing.
That is THE WORST platform I worked with and can not wait to get my returns back and END this one way communication with Vestiaire Collective.
Again, NEVER WORK with this marketplace.
