Easirent has 163 customer reviews and ranks 217th in the Car Rental category. Common review topics include customer service.
Still adding to my credit card months later. Credit card company could care less.
Price has tripled so far and they were so obnoxious at the counter. Run away fast!
There are many reviews for Easirent, I came prepared and had a wonderful experience.
The 5002 Cypress St location in Tampa, FL is about a 6 minute car ride, note that there is a shuttle to the car rental lot, if ordering from Priceline, all the information about how to get onto the shuttle is listed from within the airport using the sky train...I took an Uber due to the actual time of day, Easirent is open until 10pm eastern.
When I arrived at the vehicle pick up location, 5002 Cypress St, in Tampa FL, I was greeted by David, who was absolutely accommodating, super nice and friendly. Both he and his manager stayed late to accommodate me and others who arrived near closing, however they stayed late to assist those already on site, I arrived 2 minutes before closing (9:58pm they close at 10pm)
Note that if your flight lands close to or after 930pm eastern, suggestion is to catch an Uber/taxi/app ride or other over to this car rental location (due to airport train and time frame). If catching your own ride, follow signs to baggage claim, and pick up your uber/taxi or other outside the baggage claim, it took about 6 minutes at that time of night.
Note, that it's near impossible to catch an UBER/Taxi or other once at the rental location pickup spot (might be due to the location within the airport itself), plan on using the shuttle to get back to the airport upon dropping off your car, which runs every 25-30 minutes.
Please have a copy of your auto insurance declaration page or a copy of your auto insurance on hand when picking up the vehicle, as upon dropping the vehicle off, you can be charged for not having proof of insurance.
Getting back to David, thank you for staying past closing to accommodate others and myself, and thank you for being super helpful, kind, and knowledgable.
David, keeping your skills up will be the face of great reviews for this company, please consider being a trainer for others in the industry.
With so much appreciation and thanks - A
We waited an hour and a half for a shuttle to come from the airport. We got to the facility it was not clean. The staff didn't care about our concerns. Never again ‼
Dont rent from easirent. They are thieves and will steal all your hard earned money. Not sure why they have 4 star review on google. Im sure its the employess giving the review and not actual customers. Scammers, and i cannot wait for you guys to go under business from stealing innocent people money. Thieves!
I made a reservation through priceline.com, and assumed that the price I had paid online ($127 for 3 days) was just about my final amount (minus the price of gas and some basic insurance)
Flying into Dallas Fort Worth, I didn't realize that Easirent was not among the airport car rentals, and so after taking a shuttle to that rental area, I had to take a second shuttle to Easirent. There, I was told I had another $200 payment to make. I explained that I had already paid through priceline, and was then told that I was just paying the difference (which I took to mean $70).
No. Turns out it was an additional $200, bumping my rental amount to well over $300.
I then get a bill a couple of weeks later, indicating that I was charged another $100 for tolls. I had literally driven the car to and from Arlington, TX (20 minutes away from the rental place) and to and from Dennison (1.5 hrs away). The toll amounts themselves were only a few dollars, but there was a total of $75 in ambiguous "fees" that I had apparently already agreed to.
So now I've paid over $400 for a car I barely used, for expenses that no one had disclosed to me: not on priceline, not at the easirent office at pick-up or drop-off.
I have also tried numerous time to get a hold of someone. I've tried the online chat (doesn't work). I tried calling customer service. The first time, I was rudely told that these were all normal expenses and that I should have already been aware of them. They told me they'd have a manager call me back...no one ever did. I tried again today, and was immediately told they couldn't handle financial related queries, and said they'd transfer me. No one picked up, and I was directed to a voicemail inbox that was too full to take any messages, and then was immediately disconnected. I tried calling the local branch. No one will pick up. I cannot remember the last time I dealt with so much unprofessionalism and terrible customer service. Stay far, far away from this company!
They screwed us in St Petersburg Florida last month. Had to get money back through credit card. Las week they got friend of ours in Cincinnati. Seems they're bad everywhere.
I called after almost two to request when my deposit will be refunded into my account. The person who picked up the phone could not give me a specific date in when the money will fall back into my bank account. She was rude, talking over me, and hang hang-up the phone on me because I asked her to tell me when I will receive my money back.
We were waiting for pick up at FLL terminal at Easirent pick up area for hour and a half. I was calling to Easirent during all this time. No one responded to my phone calls. No option to leave a message. Finally, after more then one hour of waiting we were rented the car at another company. Terrible experience with Easirent. Never again.
They told me because I was using my husbands credit card I had to have him as a second driver - their home office said that was not true. They also led me to believe that I would only get to have 150 mikes on the car for 3 days if I didn't get the unlimited mileage so that was a total of $110 extra in charges
This review about Tampa location
These people make money on deceiving customers. The representative of the company, his name is Sam, at first said that there was no car that you reserved, but we will give you another one. Car was in very dirty condition, a lot of sand inside, gasoline light one, right stop light not working. Sam said we'll charge you a $300 deposit to return the car clean and non-smoking. We were forced to agree because the whole family had been waiting for over an hour. We returned the car in perfect condition, but the deposit was not returned. Never do business with this company
I'm shocked and disappointed that Expedia was affiliated with this company at all. Just look up their reviews. They barely have a 1 Star rating. Probably because there is not an option for No Star.
They are purposely located off site from the airport, so that by the time you get there and realize all the extra fees to be charged, you are more or less trapped. They were going to charge $25 every time you got on a toll road (for admin fees)... EACH TIME! I'm addition to paying the toll amount. Also, would have been $50 more PER DAY if we went out of state.
They are a scam and you will be disappointed, angry, and missing a lot of money if you do business with these people.
I implore you too cut ties with this company. Low rent, sketchy, scam don't even begin to tell the story.
They scam you on their site and say unlimited miles and pay at time of booking. Once you go get your car it's $500 more and no unlimited miles and no way to cancel. So if you don't have 500 laying around your screwed out of the money you just paid. Nobody at customer service speaks English. They all say it's not their fault the place you pick up car changes the policy without telling them. Total scam.
Booked with Priceline in a package deal...big mistake. Got to the airport and no easirent or shuttle in sight.
I rented an SUV in Clearwater Fl and when I opened the trunk a mid-size roach came out. The next day a tiny roach came out of the center console. It was gross.
I had previously rented a car from them from July 4th to thr 11th. I needed the car longer, but the price increased for the next week. I did add 3 days, but in the meantime, I booked another week at a better price. I arrive on the 14th, and the refused to give me a car. This was 9 am. I had to Uber to 2 different rental car companies before I finally got a car almost 7 hours later, and double the price I had paid for Easirent. Customer service wouldn't issue me a refund, because I prepaid. Hellooo, that was the only way I could get that price. They wanted to give me a credit only. Now, why would I want to even rent from them again. Also, the expiration on the car had expired, and no oil change for over 10,000 miles. I would not recommend them.
They gave me two unsafe vehicles: one with no tail lights, that I didn't discover until I left a 4th of July celebration, the other with a tire plugged on the sidewall that was about to blow out on the freeway. I waited in their lobby (Hobby Airport location) or more than an hour to make both transactions because they have the same kind young lady working morning, noon and night. I need to extend the contract on the 3rd vehicle they gave me (which was dirty, but I took it because they'd wasted enough of my time and it was new) and I've called the 888 number, and the branch I got the 3rd vehicle from (IAH); the 888 number let me hold on for 40 minutes before disconnecting when I was caller 1 in the queue, and no one is answering at the branch. To say they are frustrating to work with is an understatement, so please take heed to these bad reviews and pay a few dollars more to a reputable firm.
After I arrive to DFW airport, I follow the instructions to go to the car rental and wait on a bus for external car rentals where I waited for 3 1/2 hours. They do not answer the phones at the Dallas location. I had to call reservations. Tell them I situation and she was quite perturbed to have to try to reach the Dallas office which I later found out was in the same building.
After 3 1/2 hours I went on part two of my terrible decision…. I got in the vehicle with this big girl who is driving and we had to listen to her music as she adjusted her Spotify and the volume accordingly and she's as she drank her spiked soda from QuickTrip. Brought us down the road through alleys and small side roads to come to a very isolated place where they rent these cars. I swear I thought I was renting from the Italian mafia.
I was number three in line. I already heard two clients get kicked out told to wait outside as they were complaining about the service. The rental agents amor like bouncers in a club. You are required to have your own insurance or pay $60 a day for there's.
After listening to all the ordeals and side shows. I decided, although meeting all the requirements I would not trust this company and I did not want to rent a car from them. I waited on the shuttle bus to take me back to the airport.
The big girl with the spike drink came back, but I didn't think she was going to leave because she never open the door to the van. She just pulled up and sat there with the doors closed, while me and other passengers just stood there waiting. We waited until another employee came and opend the door to the van and saying ver bad words about the big girl with the spiked drink. (I did hear him say LAZY) now that the doors to the van were open we all got on bord. I guess it's not in that big girls job description, to open the door to the van. As we drove back to the airport, we listen again to profane music with bad words, as she drank her spiked drink from Quiktrip.
I thought I was in a twilight zone. I thought I have landed on another planet.
I have never seen any types of scandals, nor have I heard of any type of policies as I did in that building of this car rental agency.
Absolutely amazing I was so appalled, that I was actually literally tempted to pinch myself a few times to see if I was dreaming or was I really witnessing all of what was really happening!
I suggested anyone who is thinking about renting from this agency to forget about it it's not worth it.
Horrible service very unprofessional they don't answer the phones and customer service is not even necessary. Forget about it being a priority.
STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
We rented a car for a week had to wait 45 min at the airport for pick up. Then we had to wait 1 hour in line to rent the car, one employee working. Returned the car paid the bill. A month later we get a charge when I called put on hold for 20 minutes then was told the charge was for tolls they claimed I traveled to another town in which I didn't. When I asked for proof of this travel they told me a supervisor would contact me in which Noone ever called. Stay away from this company
The location is nearby Hobby Airport. Don't book your reservation here, stay away. They are scam business
Super crappy company. Dont waste your time and money. Spoke to this guy and first thing he asked with a poker unfriendly face "where are you from?" and then tricking me into forcing me to get their 3rd party liability. I told him the rental car will be protected under my credit card and i will take full responsibility for 3rd party liability. He refused to rent me the car even if i had a reservation and handed me my credit card probably hopping to get me to buy their insurance ao they can make more money. I had to leave, got another uber for MIA airport and ended up getting a much better deal at sixth that day. Stay away from that trash. That employee is super uneducated when it comes to customer relation being rude and brute.
