I will never ever use Intuit Turbo Tax again. I did not understand why my New York State tax return included 4 vouchers for estimated taxes & an Underpayment of Estimated Taxes form.
When I called Intuit Turbotax, I got even more frustrated. The woman, Clarissa, that I talked to did not help me at all. She told me that I had the 4 vouchers for estimated taxes & the Underpayment of Estimated
Taxes form because I underpaid the state last year. I just checked; what she told me is not true. Lastly, when I was getting ready to end the call, she laughed. Beyond Terrible Customer Service.
We all want that little extra guarentee that if we get audited the company/software we are using will back us up and help us through the process. Well if you're like me and most people who do pay that and looking for those services Turbo Tax is not where you want or need to go to file your taxes. After being audited I reached out because well I paid for this service right? Wrong! If you selected pay turbo tax fees with your refund and you end up getting audited than you haven't paid for anything and the only thing they do is give you the number to the irs to call (as if that wasn't the first place I called) so fustrating and upsetting when you and your family are relying on this tax return to get you all out of a rut you all have been in. I'm completely 1000% unsatisfied with Turbo Tax and highly recommend EVERYONE to file else where. You might take a loss of a thousand or a bit more but I'd rather take that cut then the full refund to be cutted out and get no help from a company I'm assuming will help me to the very end.
Turbo tax is a rip off. They stole money from me and tell me I am in the wrong place even though I am on their website. Called them and would not return my money for their product even though I can not use it
I recently found out that I needed to resubmit my 2022 return. When tried to load the 2022 version of Turbo Tas on to my new laptop (I bought the Home & Business version from Costco), I discovered that you can only load it on to three devices, even though you can submit 12 returns (which is boldly displayed on the box).
The disclaimer is only prominently displayed when you try to activate your code. Try to find it on the box, good luck. This means that you would only know this restriction after you buy the product and load it. Of course you cannot return it once the package is opened.
While i disagree strongly with their policy of 3 devices, what is extremely annoying is that this was the same return being resubmitted, just a new laptop.
After the agent communicated with their "Specialist" (who also could not find the caveat on the box) back and forth for at least 15 min, it was decided that I must buy a new license to resubmit.
Shame on Intuit for this and shame on intuit for putting their employees in an obviously uncomfortable position to defend something they really could not logically defend. I have used Turbo Tax since 2010. Not any more and neither will anyone else I know once I've explained it to them. Doesn't seem like a good business decision or good customer service. Its deceptive advertising too.

I honestly think that Turbo tax is taken advantage of people's hard earned money. I did my own taxes and it cost me more then letting a cpa do it. In other words I paid almost 300 dollars to do my own taxes. Shame on you turbo tax. This will be the last time I use you guys.
I currently have a dispute filed with the Better Business Bureau and my state's office of consumer protection. They added a $59 charge to my final bill that I did not authorize for their MAX. I attempted to call them 3 times, after hours on the phone, they refused to refund the money. That same day I was called SIX TIMES by some guy claiming to be in the "President's Office," but the call back number he gave me was just the general 800 number. He also emailed me four times while calling and told me he HAS to speak to me to tell me they CAN'T refund the $59. It's odd that the $59 is the exact amount they charge for a state return. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They have already had one class action lawsuit by several states for deceptive practices.
Turbo tax still does not have the correct documents to be able to file 1120s returns with the state of GA. They are due in 5 days. Their customer service told me just to wait and file an extension. If you are a tax software company, how can you not have the forms needed to file a simple return? Other tax software has no problems filing the same returns that I need to file with the state of Georgia. It is just Turbo Tax.
Oregon issued a kicker refund to be credited on the 2023 tax return. It is listed as a credit to taxes on the state tax form. I used TurboTax for 2022 taxes, all info was imported for 2023 but TurboTax failed to include the Oregon Kicker refund on my return. Had to pay $39 for the state online software because of a 1099B. Asked for a refund because of error on state taxes but denied twice after talking to a "specialist". I received the following response: "TurboTax Online is designed not to charge the customer until after they choose to file, so it is not covered under the Satisfaction Guarantee."
It appears that if you purchase the online upgrade there are no guarantees.
This company literally screwed me out of my taxes for 4 YEARS saying it was the IRSs fault. Idk what the problem was, but it had nothing to do with the IRS. They said I had to mail rather than e-file, and I didn't receive my returns for years. All I had to do was go somewhere else. Just this year I got the same thing, it's the IRS, but they are lying out of their teeth. If you have a similar problem DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. It was ridiculous and honestly pathetic. Screw turbotax
After using Turbotax for 20 years, never again. Absolutely sucks now. They make it as difficult as possible to navigate their site, so you'll have to pay to upgrade and speak to a live person. Bait and switch.
Turbo Tax has been deciding during the user's filing, if it should be upgraded to a more expensive package, without letting the user know. I experienced this at least twice.
Theoretically they guarantee the maximum return, but when I spoke with a Customer Service person about it, she said any assistance would require that I pay an additional fee. Furthermore, I was advised by a Customer Service person that my return had been completed, after which I repeatedly received emails from Turbo Tax telling me that I still needed to finish my returns.
I will NEVER use Turbo Tax again! They cannot be trusted to live up to their promises (I.e., guarantees)!

Their website is intuitive and easy to use however, it does not take your 1099-R 401k distribution taxes paid into account in any way, shape or form! Total piece of trash!
I went and downloaded the turbo tax app! First thing when I was done with providing my tax information. I was told I would not be getting back no money from the federal taxes this year! I knew that was incorrect. Then some agent he thought he could get a refund of 1700 I knew that was not right. My taxes have remained the same for the last 8 years. I ended going somewhere else. I'm getting my usual 3000 back from federal. So in other words I do not recommend turbo tax at all!
If I could give a zero I would have! Outrageous fees! Terrible and costly guide. Tried to call fir customer support and received a bogess response!
I have used TurboTax for years and years and now this year when I need it most the irs has kept my return for a (randomly selected) second look at my income! Which they say could be 180 days.i will never use TurboTax and always use a tax preparation company from now on!
I have used turbo for several yrs. Always paid for basic. I was told i could file for free. This i was doing. After all my return was done and was told my refund amt...THEN they said in order to continue I must buy deluxe version. This is BS. The cost 129$. Cant file it unless I will chose this. WELL I wont. I will take all this info and get paper forms and do it. Im very disappointed.
I have used Turbotax for a decade or more. I ise deluxe with the state. This year I had to download instead of use the CD. What a nightmare. I was conned into upgrading for an additional $185 for premium state and federal that was not necessary. I was on the phone with customer service in the middle of doing my return telling them I made a mistake. I was told to just complete my return and request a refund after i finished. I did just that and was denied my refund within minutes of my written request. I am done with the deceptive upsell tactics of intuit and turbotax. It would be very for any responsible person to review my return and see that i did not need the premium product but they will not do that. Intuit is a scam company!
Answer: Very difficult to get, had to call numerous times to get a response and then there was no, let me help you with that. They were uncaring about my situation, I had to pursue questioning what they can do and would end up forwarding me to departments that did not respond.
