I responded to a promotion from Fidelity for a complimentary copy of Turbotax Premium (see screen shot). I clicked the link, selected the desired product version (online or download), logged in, and was able to start my taxes. 3h:45m into it, I get a notice on screen that I cannot continue with the Basic version and I need to buy the Deluxe for like $71.20 + another $49 for state (see screen shot). I'm thinking... What? Basic version? I chose Premium... So, I get on with chat and the agent says she sees the problem. She suggests I logout, clear cache, and start over from Fidelity's complimentary offer Web page which I do without success. Next, she suggest, from within the online Tax app I choose "Clear & Start Over" which means I lose my 3h:45m of work. I suggested she could make it look like I upgraded to the Deluxe version plus State as it is nearly the same functionality as Premium and would solve the problem to which she replies that she cannot do that So, Intuit is basically holding me hostage. Pay or start over. After a decade of using HR Block without issues, I feel burned by Intuit for switching.

I used to use Turbo tax until 2 years ago when they claimed you can file completely free but stole half of my refund from me by not telling me that they sold rights to a 3rd party vendor to handle dispersing the refunds who took half of my refund. DONT BELUEVE THEIR FALSE ADVERTISEMENYS OF FILING FOR FREE! THEY NEGLECT TO REPORT THIS FACT THAT THEY SOLD OUT TO A 3RD PARTY VENDOR TO PROCESS THE REFUND AND STEAL HALF YOUR REFUND!

Turbotax charges $10 to add a State Return to their Windows version. But after using the software they hit you with an additional $20 to e-file. REALLY? I'll paper file thank you and won't be purchasing Turbotax next year. Typical greed.

Watch out for TurboTax Delux online. For $40 you can enter data easily. Take pics of your 1099s, etc. But... The calculations may be incorrect. Happened to me. No way to fix the data in the final form. You must pay and additional $50 to get help. ( My question is was this a sw issue or was it done on purpose to get more money off me? But that would be ILLEGAL!) So I had to choose just send the result to the IRS, or waste my 4 hours spent, or give Intuit extra money. (TurboTax USED to verify your data before forwarding it. No more!) I called Intuit Customer Support. They apologized and gave me a link to file an amendment and another link to ask for a refund. And although Intuit guarantees accuracy on the web page, the refund request says they don't. Go figure. No refund. But TurboTax is a ripoff.

Used TurboTax for years but business required going to a CPA for 9 years. Now we are able to do our taxes again and wanted to go back to TT. Worst experience I've had with Intuit products. I wrote to them for assistance through chat. Someone called while I was unavailable and said just call back. When I called back I had to work with a robot who could NOT get my name correct and kept reading it back to me as gibberish. Finally it gave up and transferred my call and was told wait time wa 5-10 minutes. I was promptly cut off. Went through the same process THREE MORE TiMES. Could never get past the robo *******@tch. The program is not user friendly. You can never see a summary of the progress like the old system UNTIL you file. Schedules cannot be found by searching. It repeatedly kicks you back to where you left off EVERY TIME. Useless! Poorest Customer or actually NO customer service AND your cost goes up as you continue to enter information. What used to be a good and dependable service is now trash!

Website wasted my time offering free tax filing then added charges to the cart to file the taxes. Misleading and dishonest business. Website stole my time.

This company wants to charge for a Federal return that is simple and free on other sites. Then they want to charge for declining to use their company Credit Karma. It is the WORST service for tax payers who DIY taxes and have an easy return. HORRIBLE! I have used them for over ten years. NOT AGAIN! TAXACT IS MY SERVICE.

I've been a Turbo Tax customer for about 10 years. It's always been easy and I've never wanted to start over again with a new company but this might be the year. The programming is terrible this year. My income says $0 from the beginning (nothing entered nor uploaded directly) and I can't change it without deleting everything and losing all my job information from prior years.

Addtionally, the customer service people are incompetent. I've had to call 3 times already and none of them knew any more about the system than I do! They, supposedly, got a 2nd level tech involved but the solution with both required me deleting stuff I'd already spent a lot of time on. One wanted me to just clear my return and start over; one had no other solution so I just hung up and did nothing, and now the third wants me to delete all my job information when all I need to do is enter my income. Some programmer really screwed up not allowing users to only change the income and the front line customer service is clueless. Not sure how they can possibly get such high ratings for customer service as it is almost non-existent... well, good customer service at least.

Turbo Tax is at it again. This time they give you an option of the Duluxe package for $39.00 or the Premium package for $89.00. I choose the $39.00 package. I didn't get very far into my taxes before they popped up another package option. Only this time it is not a package option but a recommendation. They show two option you can choose from, but in reality it is only one you can choose. The other one you cannot log onto. You are stuck with get this package for $49.00 now or you cannot proceed any further. Again I did not get very far as it seems Turbo Tax made a so-called error( I believe it's done on purpose). This time it popped up another package. Get expert help for $89.00 or have someone from Turbo Tax do your taxes for over $100.00. I tried to correct the error and it would not allow me to do that so I decided to get the expert tax specialist to help me. Her name was Andriana. She couldn't even correct the problem and kept me on the phone for 2 hours. These people are a joke and are still trying to scam people. If this has happened to you contact me and we will filed a class action lawsuit. Text me at *******464.

I paid $35 to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier. I received an email with the License Code for premier and a link that was described as: "TURBOTAX DESKTOP PREMIER TAX YEAR 2023 WIN DOWNLOAD WITH STATE". I downloaded the file, uninstalled my previous version, restarted my computer, and installed the new version. Only it wasn't the new version -- it was still the Deluxe version. I called TurboTax support but they were no help at all.

Saw an ad for this company. It convinced me they are mealy mouthed shills who think you're stupid and need to have garbage values forced fed to you.

I was late a year filing. I payed for a turbo tax service and entered my taxes for the late year under the appropriate date. Turbo tax then tried to sell me more services as I continued on to the next year's taxes. I declined a second purchase and turbo tax filed my back taxes for the present year. I tried to cancel or continue on to the 2022 section but Intuit had no way to cancel it. I spent the rest of the afternoon on the phone with two customer service representatives, the first of which hung up after 5 minutes and transferred me to a rep with a thick foreign accent. They then tried to SELL ME screen sharing software and gave no confirmation on canceling the filing. A week later the wrongly filed tax returns were accepted by the IRS, now I have no way to fix this without an involving process (had to make an appointment with the IRS in person) since the taxes were filed by a third party. Photos would share my private info even more than screen sharing my tax info with a call center, but they offer "free service" so even had I not paid this would still be highly dishonest "business" practice.

Needless to say this is not a legitimate company.

The bait and switch is real with Turbo Tax. Advertising is extremely misleading. It is consistently exponentially more expensive than it is originally presented. You cannot access specific line items. Unlike its competitors' websites, TurboTax does not always make old returns available. Customer service people are courteous but incompetent.

If you have ANY additional tax items to add your tax return, you will get upcharged and you cannot revert and go back to the basic version. By the time you get to the additions you've already spent a good amount of time and just want it to be over, so you say fine and pay it. I had to add like a $20 dollar credit or something negligible then the next thing you know I'm paying $60 just because it's not the basic service anymore. Also, all the "loading" bars and wait times going from page to page. Those are fake! The transitions can literally be instant but they add those in to make it take longer so you have a sunk time guilt that makes you just pay for the aforementioned upgrade! Did I mention I hate TurboTax?

I recently received a notice from CO IRS stating I did not file my 2019 taxes, however, I did file them electronically by Turbo Tax. I sent all the documents in and what I find ironic is they stated the do not find anything wrong with the states notice of me owing taxes, but never mentioned as to why it was never filed electronically by turbo tax, although the service was paid for. Nothing upsets me worse than being told the state was correct yet never mentions that Turbo Tax was in the wrong for accepting my money to file and yet my taxes were not filed. There is not even a phone number that you can reach a live person to speak to about your concerns. Why is it that you have to threaten with legal action before someone understands the momentum of you dissatisfaction. Unbelievable NEVER AGAIN TURBO TAX!

Had an account last year but changed phones in2023. Bad news is that TTAX is stuck on my old phone number. Called them to update but those personnel can't do that. TTAX cannot send a secret code to log on. So there's no way to log on. SO I'M DONW WITH TURBO TAX...

TurboTax did my 2022 federal tax return, took my money and told me the return was accepted. One month later I get a letter from the IRS stating the return was rejected because it had some errors. Now, turbo tax is not available on Saturday! Rip off!-

Intuit turbotax withdrew money without prior knowledge. They did not send a date. Just a month in which it would be done. Now my account is overdrawn.
