Well, I was charged almost $300 for a simple return. My expert was no expert at all. He stuttered and stumbled over his words anything that I needed help with this far as paperwork from last year paperwork for my 1099 any of those my so-called expert is not even able to access those and that's through the site, he made my simple return very complicated. It took me three days of back-and-forth to get it filed for almost $300 again I remind you and do you know that TurboTax is under class action lawsuit so my prediction of them being put out of business here real soon came about a lot quicker than I thought it was going to and people don't realize the fact that they have third and fourth parties within their establishment means that for all of those people involved all those people are only involved to get money out of our pockets, and TurboTax gladly gives it, heck just a file for yourself on TurboTax. It's almost $100 I mean that right there the IRS should be getting them for that. I'm sure eventually they will but for all of us that got ripped off I bet we don't get our money back. I spoke with supposedly a manager that was all apologies after I made a horrible survey on then and only then and they could've been kind enough to tell me that this expert is absolutely no expert he's probably sitting on his back porch smoking a joint could care less about you or your taxes otherwise they would have suggested that I go directly to my nearest local office run by any tax service in Spending far far less than what I and I like, how when you open the app and it gives you your initial fee, and then not until the very end after this punk has already put your taxes through then you find out how much you paid that right there, and itself is a rip off and it's deceptive and they know it and they're happy to do it
I'm almost done with my taxes and the entire software package disappears from my computer. $40 for state tax download again on top of what I already paid. This is the last time I use Turbotax.

So 48 hours ago I finished my return, paid with a credit card and now I can't sign my return and file. Site says the helpline is open 5 a.m. Monday through Sunday. It's 6 a.m. on a Thursday and I got the First available call back appointment for 9:45 a.m. Also the online chat isn't open yet ( that's where the hours of operation are posted). I keep going in to get the form to open so I can sign it and the I'm not a Robot box spins and spins but nothing moves past that after several attempts. This isn't my first time using Turbo Tax but it is definitely the last
Was TurboTax always terrible, or have they gone down hill in a hurry? I used them years ago with no issues. Now, just filing a remarkably simple w2 for federal and state is absurdly expensive; They're very tricky with how they phrase their pricing, btw. And don't bother with customer service. I had the absolute worst experience with their chat service. I initiated a conversation due to the TurboTax tracker showing more progress than the IRS tracker, but Donald O. Had no interest in helping me understand the process. Instead of understanding that I was more concerned with whether or not my federal return had been approved, he chose to believe I was just being impatient for the direct deposit to hit. He talked down to me, made rude remarks, and then refused to give me the number for customer service. Some of these employees are clearly not cut out for customer service and they definitely aren't afraid of the repercussions of treating paying customers like garbage. Never again. I WILL NEVER use nor promote this company again.
Even when I submitted to pay the least amount for my taxes, they charged me the most. I WAS FURIOUS.
I will not be letting them do my taxes ever again.
I have used Turbotax for 5 years and have not had a problem until filing 2023. I went through the entire process and there was a button to click if you're sure it's completed. I never clicked the button. The next day I received another dividend statement I hadn't expected. I went back into Turbotax and it would not let me edit my return or even start over. The help stated click on "tools" and that didn't exist. All of the menu items went to a page saying "not available yet". I had to go to Taxslayer to redo my return from scratch. It's very annoying that I couldn't edit my return or get any help (without paying) for such a simple problem.
Last year taxes easy form they charge me the deluxe I let it go taxes for 2023 charge me delux did not want it didn't mark box they said they would refund it liers I will never use them again I don't care how much I pay some were else
3 years in a row, date they tell me my refund will appear in my account and it's always 2 weeks later...its very disappointing especially when people are expecting the refund...no need in them putting a date on when u will receive your refund or an "approximate date" because it's never true and ALWAYS seems to be 2 weeks minimum longer than what they said...not to mention they say it's a free service and will deduct the funds from your refund, not true either...they'll pull it directly from your bank account WAY before you even think about receiving a refund...NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE TURBO TAX
Poorly designed and has glitches in the program. They make it a real challenge to reach telephone help. I cannot fathom how they could get much worse.
I have been using tax software for years and decided to "switch" to TurbTax Premier. MISTAKE. First there are well-documented installation problems that Turbotax blames Microsoft for and the claimed importing of "over 100 data fields" from other software's last years return is "oversell" of the highest order. I've spent 6 hours and made little progress working with Customer Service, who offered to return my purchase price. I spent another 45 minutes sending requested receipts, etc. to the representative, and a day later received an e mail notice that I would not receive a refund because my refund application was incomplete. I was informed my case was closed, but I could start a new refund application. In my view terrible product and service, plus "Dark Pattern" practitioner.

I have e-file'd with TurboTax online for years with very few negative experiences. This year, I entered my information with the intention to e-file once again. Because the government was not yet done with a form that I needed, they would not allow me to file yet (I'm still ok at this point.) They said to go ahead and pay now to "lock in my rate," so I did.
When I went back on a few days later, TurboTax now said that there was an error and that e-filing was no longer an option. I use TurboTax so that I CAN e-file, and that is what I was promised I would be able to do when I paid. Just to make sure that I didn't do anything wrong, I filled in ALL of my information with another online tax service (a much cheaper one) and everything worked great.
Since I had not used ANY of the services that I had paid for yet, I figured I would just submit a refund request, but I was told that there is no satisfaction guarantee with their online services.
I called TurboTax, but their customer service has been both incompetent and horrendous. It looks as though they are just fine stealing my money for services that they did not perform. I will never use them again.
The first time I used TurboTax it was free. After that it never gives me the free option it always wants me to choose the deluxe option which cost me money. That I do opt for because they do do a good job but I think they should stop advertising do your taxes for free when after the first year it is no longer free!
Turbotax will actively upgrade your chose plan, despite refusing the extas.
They state you can wipe your return and start over, selecting a new basic plan without any of the upgrades. I did this, used none of the benefits and at the end WAS STILL CHARGED for the upgrade despite doing my return twice and not using any of the benefits. Literally only imported W2s and HSA.
Also could not handle inputting losses due to bankruptcy, and not wanting to redo my return a THIRD TIME I decided to just take the financial loss and maintain my sanity. Fvck turbo tax.
This is my last time using turbo tax. Taking well over $100 just to process a transaction fee. Never again, which is sad as I've been using tt since I started working. Feels like they are just stealing refunds "Transaction fee"? We work hard for our return's, so businesses can scoop up some of what we're supposed to get back and call it a fee.🤡
I am so disgusted with the service this year. This is truly highway robbery. I have been a faithful customer for many years but you just lost me over this. Charging $118 to file on extra form that I had never used before and will never file again. I know that one customer doesn't mean much to you, but I will make this known.
Been doing my taxes a few years now off and on and this year is just BS!was locked out of my account by turbo tax and when I try to confirm who I am it keeps saying issues with my Pictures of my ID front and back (and Id is still in excellent condition/no faults or bends or tears in my ID!then or will say like its been saying for over 2 months now when trying to recover account "problem on our end... we're on it"...how long does it take them to handle problems in there system?

TurboTax adds fees to your tax return bill without clear explanations! I didn't realize they tacked on a $44 Premium Services bundle fee BECAUSE I opted to use my FEDERAL return to cover my $39 state and $39 federal processing fees. They automatically add this fee while not telling you upfront that you have to pay for it! After some research, I discovered that choosing this payment method triggered the fee. TurboTax doesn't disclose that this bundle is NOT FREE upfront, leaving users confused. When you get to the checkout page, THEN TurboTax tells you the Premium Services bundle isn't free and that it's $44! So you end up having to backtrack to where you were before to remove this silly bundle! Once I switched to paying the fees with my debit card instead of using my federal return, the unwanted Premium Services bundle fee was not added to the bill. It's frustrating and seems like they're banking on people not noticing these charges!
Answer: Very difficult to get, had to call numerous times to get a response and then there was no, let me help you with that. They were uncaring about my situation, I had to pursue questioning what they can do and would end up forwarding me to departments that did not respond.
