A nightmare
December 5, 2020

Absolutely the worst experience in my entire life and I am 62 years young. I nearly had a STROKE dealing with my transactions. They drag you along for not one month but nearly two. I am still not finished.

This company kept on delaying refund for our ticket. We cancelled prior to the travel ban and they kept on delaying by telling us refund is being processed. Lucky that we only spent small fraction compared to people here. I was able to submit a chargeback using their emails as evidence. But guess what, they sent an email threatening us a legal action. Because they said they refunded 4% of total ticket cost in cash (which we never received) with the rest is in flight voucher (which does not even exist in their website after I checked it). The airline company is no longer exist so I dont know what their game with flight voucher anyway. Avoid at all cost. If you can claim chargeback through your credit card, do it.

Booked flight
October 29, 2020

Honestly, I don't know what people are talking about that trip.com is a scam. I booked a flight on trip.com to Chicago, IL round trip for $206. And everything went smoothly. But one thing I have to say tho. I was on their $#*! a lot. I call them twice a week just to check if my ticket is still there. And the day before my flight I called them and got my confirmation number and check-in at the airline website. Went to Chicago and back home with no problem! I had a great experience with trip.com!

System is out dated
October 20, 2020

Unfortunately the HK Frozen show uses trip.com exclusively for its ticket sales and reservations. Fair to say that the way trip.com designs their booking system is poor. Feels like I am dealing with a startup internet company in 1990s designed by a wannabe programmer. Cannot believe such companies are still in service in the year 2020. Now that i have to reserved two seperate timeslots for my family visit to the show due to the way the system is designed. Also the online chat service is designed poorly as well. I think they need to hire someone from google who can design things properly, rather than hiring some accountant / salesman to run their system design

Trip.com is the worst website I have ever used! I booked a hotel in Mexico, the confirmation I received from Trip.com said that at checkin I would pay $2.30 as local taxes and that is all. When I arrived at the hotel the manager there wanted additional 200 Mexican pesos for some extra taxes($9.46) and on top of that they said I need to pay 150 pesos ($7) for breakfast which was mandatory otherwise I would not be able to login. I already paid $50 for the hotel which Trip.com guaranteed were all the charges and nothing more! For close to $70 I could have gotten a nice hotel on the beach! When I contacted Trip.com they said there are no extra charges that the hotel is asking and that I just didnt want to stay at that hotel. I also recorded a video with the whole conversation with the manager at the hotel. Even after proving that Trip.com is not right they still did not want to give me a refund because they said the hotel was holding the room for me. While the hotel was sooooo empty I saw no one there at all except me! After being on the phone back and forth for 2 hours they offered be $8 back as courtesy for my stressfullness and desperation. What a joke and if I were you I would never book with Trip.com again and Good Luck!

I made a hotel reservation because their rate was extremely low. After putting all my credit information, the arrow circled around the page waiting the confirmation. It said it usually takes 15 minutes but it could be up to 9 hours. After 1 hour, it still circled around. So I read the Trip.com reviews and Oh, No! I cancelled the reservation. That thing was still circling around.
I got an e mail saying the charge has been processed Already (?) and it would be refunded in 5-7 business days. No Confirmation should be no charge. E mail was from directly from China. Because the Covid Virus, I got personal responding to that E mail. This company person has no idea that Covid originated from her own country. She stated it was a global virus and asked me to watch my words. I already have cancelled my credit card so it cannot charge and refunded. But it was not a pleasant experience just as Covid has not been a good experience!

Thief and Liar
October 11, 2020

Booked a flight pre-covid and wouldnt give me my refund even if the airline has already confirmed, and provided a transaction number, of the refund sent to trip.com. Emailed several times and agents kept lying to me that the money is not with them yet. My family who is on the same flight and booked a with a different travel agency already got their refund months ago.

Trip currently is holding AUD$1500 of my money for three flights that were cancelled in February & April due to covid. The operator's have no clue when you try to explain a simple issue, use a script, won't escalate you and outright lie. I have called numerous times to get my money back and get told something different each time. The latest is saying I will have a refund but it will take three months then only to wait and be told sorry no. Please please please avoid this scum and book with airline or another better reputed company.

NEVER AGAIN
October 7, 2020

NEVER AGAIN. Waiting 6 months of a COVID flight cancellation refund, constant mails and calls, constant apologies and saying they are waiting on the airline... Still nothing. Airline have confirmed this week that trip.com haven't even applied for the refund! When I tell trip.com that, they send copy paste reply to say sorry and keep waiting... on nothing as they haven't even applied! They advise you to wait 120 days on refund... the exact deadline for raising credit card disputes... coincidence? They're scammers, RUN!

Stand Up Company
October 1, 2020

We had a terrible, terrible experience at a hotel that we booked through trip.com. We asked the hotel for a refund and they said we had to do it through trip.com. Trip.com approached the hotel several times and never gave up until they arranged a full refund. Trip.com kept in touch with us every day while they were working on it. We were very satisfied and pleased and will use trip.com in the future.

Booked a hotel a couple of weeks out, paid in full and got email with all confirmation numbers etc. Thought all was good.
24 hours before arrival get a message saying that the booking "has been cancelled" with no explanation as to why. Called the Hotel and they have no record of the booking ever being made. With Covid, could not get an equivalent hotel at such short notice. As I had people coming from out of town, I had to quickly book something and ended up with a really crappy hotel. Due to such late notice, I then had to pay a massive premium for this cheap hotel. Don't know if I will ever get a refund.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

If you read this and still book with these guys you're an idiot and deserve to be ripped off.

Please NEVER EVER book via trip.com. This is company that charge you 30% of the cancellation fee for EACH booking/tickets. My ticket was USD1150 and used half. They said that contributed to USD $750 (more than half) and then charged me another USD320 cancellation fee so refund is less than $150! Almost only 10% of the original price. And during this pandemic period while most airlines and hotels are very understanding on changes and cancelations, Trip.com would CARE LESS! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, of course, again sadly, China based/brought, what can you expect? Moral? Good faith?!

NO FLEX
September 5, 2020

It is legit, HOWEVER, if for any reason you need to cancel or you're over charged you're SOL. They owed me $22.00 for a resort fee that was not to be charged. They couldn't/WOULDN'T credit it back to my original payment card. THEY INSISTED ON OBTAINING MY BANK ACCOUNT INFO!
DO NOT USE TRIP.COM
If plans change, too bad. You just lost your money.

Still awaiting a refund!
September 2, 2020

Booked a flight from Perth to UK through Skyscanner (with Qantas) and now having to deal with trip.com. Flight was cancelled on the 30th March 2020.

It's been over 5 months and the reply is exactly the same every time I enquire about an update. "We're waiting for the airline to refund us and then we'll refund you". Today I contacted Qantas and they state that Skyscanner/ trip.com has received the refund.

I call Skyscanner/ trip.com to inform them of this (twice), the first operator tells me they'll investigate and get back to me within a couple of hours, the second tells me they'll investigate and get back to me within 6 days.

All I've had for months is stall tactics and half truths. At the end of my tether now! I allowed some leeway due to Covid but the communication has been terrible and I for one will not be using either company again.

Booked flights with Trip.com. They sent me a confirmation email with the itinerary flight detail's. They then sent another email stating that the fight had been changed to a date that was unsuitable for all passengers. Could not give us alternative flights and said the airline had changed the dates. Now they reluctant to offer a full refund blaming the airline. My contract is with Trip. Com who are trying to hold onto the money Therefore if the flight is cancelled or rescheduled which is unsuitable they must offer a full refund. I am now in the process of filing a dispute with my credit card provider. Always book direct with the airline as they have better customer care and can help resolve most problems.
