Wrong flight connections

Didn't realize until after we booked that our connecting flight was from a different airport than where we landed (entailing other transportation not included) and that our luggage was not checked through. Will never use them again.

It was a nightmare. I looked and found though the flight was canceled, it did fly the previous day and I just wanted an even exchange, but there was nobody to talk with. I got an email once after chatting to no avail which read that they'd call me at a particular time, and I waited at that time, but nobody called. I did get a cancel and had to start from the beginning - something they did not help me with. My original trip cost 480 and doing again cost 650 plus the money that was not refunded! (They did send some money back in refund, but not all.) I did not win!

I rang ******* over 40 Minutes of waiting, still busy. No result.
Try to use chat service, but no result.

I am planning a trip to China and was I surprised when could get air fare at a very reasonable price when there's a jet fuel price hike.
I also managed to book hotels at affordable prices and get an esim for my communication use in China.

If it is a shortish flight I often use Trip.com as their bookings tend to be a little cheaper than with the airlines, but not so often when it is important for me to check in online in advance because the airlines often do not recognise bookings made with an aggregator. One point in Trip.com's favour is that their customer service is usually quick and (except at very busy times) you can usually bypass the chatbot (which is as useless as all chatbots) and get a human agent. On the other hand they are rarely able to resolve problems such as enquiries about flight add-ons or transit visas and refer you to the airlines, but if the embassy does not recognise your booking you are stuck.

Could be better

My FF details were not included in the booking. I assumed that I booked extra baggage for the return trip. When I found it was not the case, I booked, within 5 minutes of initial booking, an additional baggage on the trip back and was charged $10 more than the initial price for extra luggage. Not happy! Need to go to Expedia next time.

So far so good

The booking process has gone well, smoothly and efficiently. However, I did do the booking and theyve sent all the information to my husband. Not sure why. So that was a glitch.
We have yet to see how the process goes from here on. As our trip is not til December, its too early to tell.

It ends well

Inadvertently made a duplicate booking at a hotel in Kowloon. Had lots of trouble cancelling one of the duplicate booking due to no cancellation policy. Felt like I was being shoved backwards & forward by trip.com & the hotel in my attempts to rectify my double booking.
Thanks goodness, trip.com finally came through with good news. Got to cancel one of my unwanted & not needed rooms.

My first booking with Trip.com

1. I'm an Australian, booking done in Australia website.
2. Why charge and bill me in Singapore currency instead of Australian dollars.
3. Had to pay unnecessarily foreign currency cost on my Master card
4. I brought travels insurance. I was horrified to discover it was valid only for 7 days from date on departure. My holidays is 30 days.

Booked ticket won't link into flights check-in system on phone or laptop when they asked for this review. Otherwise on par with Booking.com in both choice and value and mostly functionality, will continue to use and just unlucky for them that they asked for a review in the middle of a minor glitch.
