I recently used Trademark Engine service to apply for a Trademark.
They made a mistake on my name (owner's name), i reached out to them on the phone and they were not willing to help me, just asked for extra money because they said they made no mistake, i did the error in their opinion.
I definitely wouldn't be able to call myself 1985, it's not a misspelling error, they assigned me another name and wanted to charge me extra to fix it.
Can you please me let me know how to report them?
Also the website is very misleading!
Don't waste your time and money with thieves!
They charge you for things you did not sign up for. This company is a scam. I am going to sue them. I am so tired of companies like this taking advantage of people! Do yourselves a favor and do not trust these slimy thieves!
I just got off two very frustrating calls with Trademark Engine, who was handling my trademark (or so I thought). My application within their system shows as active; though it has been listed as dead within USPTO's system.
Why? Because I never received the many documents sent to Trademark Engine under my name. The last email from them was from 12/11/2018. They say the emails are auto-forwarded (there is nothing in my inbox or junk), nor could they prove the emails were sent.
Trademark Engine also said the trademark was denied anyway; a blatant lie. The first document from USPTO (March 2019) showed what to do in order to receive my trademark.
Obviously after going through the work and spending the money (a total of $750 to them with a monthly charge to monitor my trademark - HA!), I obviously would have made the changes ASAP. (It takes so much time to even get the USPTO to review your application!).
They refused to give me a refund. And didn't even sound sorry. Like they tell people this every day, most likely.
I have read one review that describes my current situation to the T. I submitted my logo ON TIME and then was told that it would take 2-3 months to process after being sent to the USPTO. After 1 month of not receiving any updates, I called and was told that the order never processed?! And that instead of 2-3 months, it would take 8-9 months. The lack of care and incompetence is serious.
As a business, it should be ran like one. I should not have ti run behind someone to do their job. I am usually understanding, but to see other people going through the same thing, is a true sign not to do business with them. I would pay more money to have it done correctly by real professionals.
I submitted a trademark for review, and received nothing for over a month. I reached out to the company to check on the status and they conveyed that there are additional forms that I need to sign before they can submit it to the USPTO. However, those form were never sent.
I then asked for a refund and was told that I would have to call in and fight with someone over the phone.
This has all the markings of a scam, so save your money and go elsewhere.
This company is extremely disorganized and will not spend the money to fix their website. I called in to use my 20% off and really it was not worth it. I should have gone back to legal zoom. I now have to spend more money to change the address as they had the wrong address on their files. I will make the address change and pray the documentation actually makes it to where it is supposed to go. DONT USE THIS COMPANY they can't even fix their website and have to do everything manually. I called to speak to the manager and he refused to get on the phone with me but had 10 minutes to speak to the customer service person about why he was no going to get on the phone.
I received an email from USPTO basically telling me my application was not filled out incorrectly, which was a surprise, considering I hired a company who specializes in trademarking. So, I called Trademark Engine to get help on how to correct what was supposedly done wrong, only to be told I need to pay more money to have them fix the problem they created upon submitting the application. I was told that if my trademark was refused or there was an issue with the logo or wording I would have to pay, which I would be fine with that, but this is clearly a mistake on their part and I was told I need to pay more money for them to reply back to USPTO to fix the problem. To me it's seems like this may have been done intentionally to make more money or the person who submitted the application clearly doesn't have enough experience or just incompetent. Either way, I hired Trademark to save me time, not cost me money. For this reason along, I give them one star for not being customer driven. Should have just hired an attorney!
Watch out for this bait and switch tactic that the Trademark Engine will hit you with! They will screw up your Trademark then you will be forced to refile and having to pay another $300! If you value your money, time, and business I suggest you don't file with them. Also, they will charge you another extravagant fee after filing once the trademark attorney with USTPO contact you with all the mistakes the Trade Engine has caused you! RUN!
I don't even know where to began with this... This would have been cheaper just doing it yourself! They are not upfront about anything and will charge your card!. 6 months later after you have already paid for the package deal and all the other hidden fees. They will tel you that you have to pay another $275 to finally be able to process your application. WTF! That's a total of $1000! I would put negative stars if I could!
THEY BROKE THEIR CONTRACT. THEY STOLE MONEY OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT 4 TIMES AFTER THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID IN FULL. THE CONTINUOUSLY LOST MY SPECIMEN. I BELIEVE IT IS A SCAM. AND I WOULD NOT GIVE IT A 1 STAR BUT IT IS TE ONLY WAY TO GIVE REVIEW
I approved a charge of $69 but later that night was charged an extra $275 without being asked for approval. Instead i just got a email saying "thank you for your payment of $275!"
This is the first time I've ever written an online review, about anything. But the incompetency and/or lack of understanding regarding anything related submitting a copyright, has forced me to share and document my unbelievably poor experience. After using Trademark Engine to submit a group of photos to the copyright office, a mistake was made and only 1 of the 10 photos was processed. As a result, I was told by the copyright office to re-submit the remaining 9 photos on a new application. Not ideal and everyone makes mistakes, I get it. So I forwarded the request to Trademark Engine and they said they'd take care of it. Literally over a month later, I find out they never submitted that new application, and probably would've never done so had I not asked about it. Now, fast forward another month and I just received yet another e-mail from the Copyright office saying another mistake has been made and that the new application Trademark Engine cannot be processed until this latest problem is resolved. The ironic part to all of this is that I used Trademark Engine because I had zero experience with submitting a copyright application and I wanted it to be done right and in a timely fashion. At this point, I'm literally blown away at how bad this company is at their job. It's beyond shocking and I ask everyone who is reading this to PLEASE use another service.
I was charged $199.00 plus $65.00 for filing then my credit card company finally declined two more upcoming charges they intended to process, one for $99.00 and another for the filing of uspto which was another $275.00 according to them. One hidden fee after another after they get your card info, stay away from these people and take the time and file yourself on the legitimate uspto site
For my first Trademark, I was recommended to use Trademark Engine. That was a big mistake. The site doesn't do any extra work. YOU essentially are entering the EXACT fields that are required on the actual USPTO website and then they simply copy and paste all the fields on the USPTO website for you. I am NOT kidding - you can literally go and check both sites. You are paying $99 to Trademark Engine for just doing this. Oh and BTW, their nonsense about 'Researching to see if the TM is taken" is literally a 5 second job on the USPTO website. You just need to enter the Trademark term that you want in the search box (TEAS) and see if it has been taken. They make it sound like it is something massive.
Besides this, they actually had the nerve to over-charge me. So they charged their fee and they charged me $275 to file with the USPTO (the USPTO filing fee). It was only later, when the USPTO sent me the email confirmation, did I realize that the actual cost was only $225 - so they happily charged me $50 extra.
These people are scam artists and they refuse to talk to me about this or answer emails. I have filed a dispute now with my card (who told me that they will get the refund soon).
Stay away from this company and file yourself.
It takes forever to hear back from them. I have had to follow up on one simple request three times. Also, there are so many hidden fees in the application process (which is also difficult to understand). You are better off filing on your own. It also takes a very, very long time to go through the process with them and very small things can cause hang-ups and delays.
Do not use this company, worst service I ever got! Never had anything like this bad. Stay away! Use another company
We felt this is a scam. Once we paid the money they never contacted us, not once! We had to contact them twice and when I requested a refund for lack of services they told me I was not eligible. An attorney attempting to gain more money contacted us to let us know that our application was declined. After I receive this letter I emailed them only to be informed that our trademark was declined. You get the run around a lot from these guys. 300.00 lesson learned. Save your money, this is bad for business. I will contact the BBB as well.
Online it shows that its the cheapest to trademark a logo. After talking to a customer service rep saying to "JUST" screen shot proof of my site and it should be good. Everything was not good!
I went to an actual trademark lawyer to file another logo and we ended up looking for my logo that was filed through trademark engine. He said that they filed the logo incorrectly with the black background and white logo. Why didnt trademark engine mention that to begin with?
Second issue was all the screen shots that was suppose to be good to go was actually not good. Now IM suppose to contact the lawyer reviewing my logo and send him more proof. After researching the office and lawyer turns out they were suppose to send me a link. Which was sent after the 3rd time i called them. Now I have to read all these pages and learn how to file it properly. So i paid them so i can basically do it myself.
The LAST issue is that it clearly states that they are not lawyers on the phone and the website. That shows that no one is really competent to Help.
The lawyer I spoke to said he recommend using Legazoom or just talk to an actual lawyer. Its worth spending the money and be legit than doing all this run around and hoping its done right.

Answer: They keep charging you for a subscription you do not sign up for.
Answer: My first dream business has turned into a nightmare. It feels like someone else is just making money off of whoever enters that hook without actually helping business owners who are looking to create a unique brand. The trademark registration process is misleading, and it seems like they are taking advantage of people. Many people don't understand how the process works and end up paying a lot without any guarantee of approval. I am one of the people who now need to cancel the whole position, and it is bitter business now.
Answer: No, i got scammed here. This whole operation is a scam.
