The only reason they get one star is because that is the lowest score available. They don't deserve even one. I processed my application through trademarkengine.com, agreeing only to their $49 processing fee and declining every other paid option. At one point I clicked back through their form to check something, and when I clicked forward again the fee had increased to $99. When I canceled and started again it went back to $49. When complete, they sent me a confirmation email with my account details but when I tried to access my account I could not because the email address I was using was not recognized by their system. It was exactly the same email address they used to confirm my account details. I emailed them about this but they did not respond. The next day they sent me two invoices for $350 each which were in paid status. They had billed them both to the credit card I had used to process the $49 application fee. They had also enrolled me in a quarterly monitoring program, billed at $99 per month. I want to make it absolutely clear that every step of the application process at which I was offered a paid feature I declined it. They still have not responded to any of my emails or refund requests. It looks likely I will have to take them to court to get my money back. Do not do business with this company.
They are incompetent. After a year and a half the trademark I filed had an office action. This is when I found out my trademark was filed wrong and was illegal. A real trademark company would have known this before you filed. Do not waste your time and money. Still waiting on a partial refund because they will not refund for their mistakes
Avoid! Trademark Engine scams you into a $175 "Quarterly Trademark Monitoring" service, that is added by default to every package. The first 30 days are free of charge, and then auto-renews as a quarterly subscription. The only way to cancel is to contact their service team.
Don't use this service. It's just another automated system designed to take money out of your account. After my initial order I had 3 payments of $175 taken out of my bank account for "Quarterly Trademark monitoring" which I had no idea about. I only found out when I got an "Upcoming Payment" alert email 10 months later which I immediately cancelled then discovered two previous $175 amounts had been withdrawn without my knowledge as I never received any email alerts or payment receipts. I was able to get the 3rd payment refunded but they wouldn't refund the other two as it was "past their 60 day refund policy". On the phone I was told I would have received a "Free trial ending" email regarding their "trademark monitoring service" which i also never got, so you'll probably unknowingly end up on this free trial then get robbed when it's over.
Additionally once your application is in, if you don't know anything about trademark law it'll likely get rejected then you'll be told by the actual Trademark office you should hire a trademark lawyer to appeal, and you will need to as it's quite complicated.
So in short you are better off to just go straight to an actual Trademark lawyer who can handle everything for you and I assume could flag any potential issues before you submit your Trademark application. Trademark Engine do not do anything for you after they have taken your money.
They advertise a low price, but actually steal thousands of dollars when you're not looking.
Please read other critical reviews. I made the mistake of listening to the fake 5 star reviews which cost me a lot of money. They signed me up for Trademark Monitoring without consent after having paid for their services registering it.
This was already an expensive purchase for me to begin with which was hard to justify. They then proceeded to charge me hundreds of dollars every couple of months alongside other charges despite never agreeing to it.
Beware of this scammy company and take your business elsewhere. I'm a new business owner that learned the hard way.
My application did not get approved because of how I answered the questions with the application. They gave me no legal advice on how to answer these questions so the application would be approved. When I paid an extra $150 to them to help me correct the mistake they told me they couldn't help me and I had to higher an attorney. I thought they were attorneys? I'm going with an attorney now. Considering how simple my trademark is I'm surprised how difficult and expensive this process is and how little help they have offered.
*UPDATE: I emailed their support staff asking for a refund on the extra $150, which they gave me and apologized for not being able to help. At this point I've had to purchase a trademark lawyer to help me with the application.
It charges without you actually completing the application and saya "added to cart" when there is no cart, it just charges you when you press "continue". Support is a nightmare to get ahold of and the process just continue and they keep charging you without warning. I got a charge for $350 before i had even sent in a proof of commerce for my trademark, which they were not supposed to send in before i sent proof. Awful place to do any business with, very misleading and sketchy with their billing.
They have a glitchy system and a dashboard that is NOT intuitive! There customer service personnel do not listen and overtalk their customers. Plus the upcharge you for EVERYTHING! The $149 is a ploy to get you in the door. I would NOT recommend.
Upon paying $199 for the deluxe package and an additional $59 for the certified paper copy, I was satisfied with my purchases. Then about 30 minutes later, my card was charged an additional $350! Now, I am worried that my credit account is not protected, and Trademark Engine will take out more money without permission. This is a huge inconvenience! I feel highly upset that I wasted time and money in a company that I thought was legit as I reviewed the almost 5-star ratings before opening an account. One can never believe those ratings!
Yes, this company WAS very helpful... They researched my trademake, told me there were no matches, they submitted my trademark and took additional funds to monitor however, I only found out it had been declined from an ambulance Chaser trademark attorney trying to get my business to look into 2 "issues"... 1, my trademark was supposedly "similar" to one that was submitted before mine and 2, it had the color blue in it? OK WHAT? The color BLUE? REALLY?
I called the company, stayed on hold until a recording came on that said they would call me back... NO CALL! I went through their chat and got 2 what appeared to be generic bot responses... not going over it with me AT ALL, just said I could go look myself? WTH did I pay these people for?
A couple of days later and STILL NO ONE has called me back from this company! Buyer BEWARE!
Charged my card without my permission twice more after I paid for this service. Advertised prices are deceptive and additional costs are added on AFTER they get your card number. Also noticing now that most of the 5 stars review are fake and all before 2020. Read recent reviews for a true description of this business.
1.) They advertise their portion as $69. When you check out, it is suddenly $99. Very misleading. But note, the actual filing is $250-$350 extra. Their $69-$99 is their processing fee and the rest is to the government. You are paying for convenience at their time to file. 2.) Their customer service sucks. I believe this is a side hustle for them and not a primary established physical location. No one answers the chat or emails. 3.) Make sure you cancel trademark monitoring after the period ends. They sneak it into the TOS so you end up having to pay $175 a quarter if you do not cancel. After you file your TM application with them, go into your account and cancel monitoring if you do not need it. All in all, this company is SHADY and inconsistent. However, if you keep on top of them, they will eventually file the TM application.
Be careful!... when you are filling out application they ask if you want "Monitoring", I elected NO but what they don't tell you is that they automatically put it on even when you say NO and after the first 30 days of the "Free Trial" which you are unaware of because you said NO they then Bill you $175 per quarter $700 per year. So if you miss this charge on your statement they won't refund. When asked where the policy is regarding this on website, they claim they send email and then when asked they say they don't have copy of email... they have no answer... very deceptive company
They emailed me stating that my TM was complete. Impossible because the TM office was back logged. I trusted them thinking that my TM was handled and not up for reregistration for 5 years. I got a notice of abandonment and now have to pay even more. I never was notified of any issue. They had the nerve to ask for more $$$ LOL a--clowns! I would never use them again!
Though Google doesn't care, this company "manages" their reviews and creates numerous fake ones. This business is a scam (go ahead and find the owner or who runs it - good luck!) and they charge a fake upfront fee and then bill you illegally and relentlessly. Their customer service is also phony, they don't respond, answer emails or calls and don't give refunds for the FAKE charges. Avoid this business at all cost.
I had some tough time realizing that I made a terrible mistake by trusting this company. But once I started to search for help I got scared of how many people got in the same situation like mine. Thanks to REclaim. Tech who came to my rescue and got me back my funds. We all need to be careful with money
I signed up and registered my trademark. They billed me for $49 as agreed to in the offer. On the offer page it stated that it was the service fee of $49 PLUS the USPTO fees. I happen to know that the USPTO fee is $250. A few days after I submitted the application, they charged my card $350 ($100 more than the actual fee). I called to inquire and they said that the extra $100 they retain... This is dishonest. I encourage you to read through their offer page. No where in this offer does it state the additional $100 they STEAL from people who are not familiar with the process and the fees. I will be reporting this company to all the relevant authorities. This ad should not be eligible for advertising as they are scamming people and stealing their money.
Definitely do not use this company…. There are so many other companies that do a better job cheaper…. Website is designed to sign you up to things you don't even want and they will not correct it …. The customer service was just there too be of service to them self …. Horrible experience do not use!
When we came up with a plan with their staff, I followed their directions exactly. There was an issue with my specimen and the USPTO declined it. Trademark Engine wasn't helpful at all to resolve. Today I hired a lawyer - who told me my original application is useless and we have to do an "expeditated abandonment" (walk away from the original application) and then start from scratch. If you do ANYTHING online, don't recommend at all.
Answer: For my first Trademark, I was recommended to use Trademark Engine. That was a big mistake. The site doesn't do any extra work. YOU essentially are entering the EXACT fields that are required on the actual USPTO website and then they simply copy and paste all the fields on the USPTO website for you. I am NOT kidding - you can literally go and check both sites. You are paying $99 to Trademark Engine for just doing this. Oh and BTW, their nonsense about 'Researching to see if the TM is taken" is literally a 5 second job on the USPTO website. You just need to enter the Trademark term that you want in the search box (TEAS) and see if it has been taken. They make it sound like it is something massive. Besides this, they actually had the nerve to over-charge me. So they charged their fee and they charged me $275 to file with the USPTO (the USPTO filing fee). It was only later, when the USPTO sent me the email confirmation, did I realize that the actual cost was only $225 - so they happily charged me $50 extra. These people are scam artists and they refuse to talk to me about this or answer emails. I have filed a dispute now with my card (who told me that they will get the refund soon). Stay away from this company and file yourself.
Answer: They keep charging you for a subscription you do not sign up for.
Answer: My first dream business has turned into a nightmare. It feels like someone else is just making money off of whoever enters that hook without actually helping business owners who are looking to create a unique brand. The trademark registration process is misleading, and it seems like they are taking advantage of people. Many people don't understand how the process works and end up paying a lot without any guarantee of approval. I am one of the people who now need to cancel the whole position, and it is bitter business now.
Answer: No, i got scammed here. This whole operation is a scam.
