What a nightmare it has been trying to work with this company. I took a chance and went with TrademarkEngine but it turned out to be an extremely bad decision. This is not a company that will simply ask for your trademark information, work out any issues, and then file the trademark. Everything is automated. After a month or two they send you an email stating there is an "issue" with the application, and you can "purchase" a consultation to review the information. I declined to "purchase" a consultation and provided more information about my trademark than would normally be expected. I've purchased houses that required less paperwork than I have provided to trademarkengine. A few months later, I received the same exact response. "After a review of your application we found some issues". These are the same exact issues that they previously found. Once again they state that if I want to talk about the issues, I can "purchase a consultation". I do not like to use the word "scam" because people tend to throw the word around way too much. However, at this point I cannot think of a better word to describe trademarkengine. I've wasted several months working with this company, and I couldn't be more disappointed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE, PEOPLE.
Trademark Engine has ruined me and deluded me and deceived and this is not right tomorrow I ask for help from Federconsumatori associations and I ask for help from the lawyers.
I ordered a $99 product and then had to move through six pages of deceptive upsells. After the sale is over they send and email saying you're enrolled in something that costs $175 per quarter. The website has no method of canceling this and there's no way to remove my credit card information.
When I filed with Trademark Engine, I was under the impression that the guidelines that they gave me would allow for me to get my trademark for my Logo, and for the services. I used the guidelines that they specifically gave me, and my application was denied.
They also signed me up for services that I specifically denied, as well as, charging me extra for fees for lawyers to review my case. It took me multiple calls to get some of these things resolved, however, they outright refused to refund me their fees for incorrectly filing my trademark and they would not refund the referral fees for the lawyers until I let them know that I was not informed of these fees. Even after that, they have continued to email me marketing emails even though I have unsubscribed multiple times.
They apparently have also given my information to other 3rd party companies in regards to other related services as I am now getting inundated with legal, copyright, and other related services, even though I specifically asked to not have my information shared.
Do not use this company. Simply work directly with a Trademark lawyer, you will save money in the long run.
"Before deciding to use this application, think twice. This company lures you in with sugar-coated words and makes it seem easy. But once you've paid, they ask for more money than initially stated. Then, your application might be rejected and you're told to hire an attorney for around $600 to clear the application." So think that you are going with stress for months and months
Sent $747.00 almost a year ago, sent in my logo and answered the required questions they said was required for the USPTO.
More than 10 months later they sent me an email asking to upload or resend the logo and answer the questions for the USPTO again, so i did it and got a response that what I had sent did not meet the "criteria" for the USPTO, only they would not tell me specifically what that criteria was or what I was doing wrong. They did follow up however, by sending an email saying that my account has been put on hold per my request.
I am giving them the opportunity now to either work with me in a professional manner or refund what I have paid.
Sounds like their may need to be a class action to actually get their attention.
On the March the 9th I placed an order for 3 services. $99,59 and $49. Through my Paypal. I immediately could not log into my account as I never received a receipt in my email for the services. I complained that day I couldn't get into the account, and they hadn't emailed me a receipt. Since it was a Saturday no was available to help me, so I decided to wait until the following Monday. The very next day on Sunday, they charged me a additional $350 through PayPal which I did not order, nor do I even know what it is for. I couldn't log into my account, so how could I even order something. They have erased the history of conversation I had with their customer service rep about my issues. I still can't log in. No emails or receipts. To make matters worse, I'm now out of $557.00 and Paypal is telling me it will take a month to investigate.
Do not use fake they just want your money no progress or good outcome don't do it! They are users
I started application for logo trade mark order *******. After filing application step by step and paying $49 and $59 fee which was disclosed suddenly i got charged gov fee $350 which was not disclosed. I contact support and after transferring me to billing department support person told me that i have subscription $199 yearly that I wave when i was going step by step trough application. I requested refund and Basically i got refund $350 and other $49 and $59 fees are not refunded because they told me that is not possible they will put my account on hold if i change my mind. Well I definitely not going to file anything with them. Be aware of this before applying for anything with this company. I want them to remove my account information. I guess i am not the only person who almost got scammed with this mandatory subscription!
I placed my order december 1st waiting patiently to get a order processed number. I waited until 2/14/24 and called called and emailed emailed for them to tell me it was never processed. So they wasted 75 of my days and couldnt even fulfill the job i paid $1075 for. Ridiculous. Never using again.
I Inquired Of trademark engine on getting a trademark for a company. I was planning on opening. I wasn't sure what we were gonna call the company. But they called back and said that another entity was gonna register my trademark. So I asked him who it was. They lied and said they could not tell me who it was. And the way he lied to made it obvious that there was no one else using or planning on having a trademark in the name of the company I was planning on opening. Yes because I knew they that I would have to think about it. So they sent me an email today, saying. Basically that if I did not go ahead and give them money that they were gonna turn me over to the government for a new company that did not report to the government and had me. Find $500 a day and put me in jail for UP to 1 year. Because I was. Not buying a trade mark from them. I recently responded to the email saying it sounds like extortion. Extortion is if you don't give us money. We're gonna lie about you and try to get you in trouble. I have pictures of the email. Apparently trademark engine are liars, Extortionist, & deceivers and that they're lying to the government to get me into trouble. Simply because I won't give them money to do a trade mark. I explained to them. We're not sure what we're gonna call the company and that the company had changed names through the years to reflect the changes and improvements and expansion of the different companies. So apparently they have turned me into the government for owning a company I have not even started just to Get me to buy a trademark through them. If I was looking into a trademark the last people on this planet I would speak with is trademark engine because apparently they practice extortion. Apparently they're willing to lie to the government just to extort a retired veteran. And apparently there is no one else trying to trade mark the name of the company we may open and that they're flat straight lying to god and everybody about everything including the government.
Use LegalZoom or you will be nickel and dimed to death with Trademark Engine.
I'm 99% sure we didn't sign up for any subscriptions (as in we didnt voluntarily click to add any subscriptions)...but you better believe we were charged every month for a "monthly" report as well as a yearly "monitoring" fee. It took me months to figure out that we were getting charged and what it was. But it's a lot cheaper than LegalZoom, that's how they get you. Classic bait and switch.
The worst part is that you have to call to cancel (as SO MANY people have mentioned), and the subscriptions are in perpetuity. I do think the subscriptions might be worth it if your company makes multi millions or into the billions. Im sure Taco John would have liked to know when Taco Bell was trying to use "Taco Tuesday". For everyone else, avoid.
I engaged Trademark Engin to assist with my trademark application, expecting professional guidance through the process. Unfortunately, their services fell short. My application was denied by the USPTO, leaving me in a difficult position. Not only did their assistance not meet expectations, but it also led to added expenses—now requiring a lawyer costing approximately $2k to address the issues. Disappointed and dissatisfied with the outcome.
This company sets you up on autopay and made fraudulent charges to my account. I told them I wanted to cancel and they said they would - but they didn't then charged my acct $199 beyond the $49 & $59 trademark fees. Very shady business.
Once I started searching for the trademark office's requirements, google flooded me with "you don't have to pay the government's $3500 fee, use us instead."
I fell for Trademark Engine LLC https://www.trademarkengine.com/, only $49.00.
1. That was November 27,2023 at 9:56:06 AM CST. I filled out their form and asked several questions, as neither process nor the form was clear. (I have a MS Engineering and an MBA.) I did the responsible thing and asked immediately how to proceed.
I got only an unctuous auto-bot, "our clients are important to us, we'll get back to you." They never did.
I send more emails. Same response.
2. I did my normal weekly transaction review (via Mint), and discovered TWO (2) charges for $49.00, The second was on November 27,2023 at 10:00:32 AM CST
3. Thinking this was a simple clerical error, I shot more emails. NEVER an answer, same unctuous email.
4. After several emails, only unctuous auto-bot, I discovered they managed to post an unauthorized $350 mystery fee. November 28,2023 at 9:56:47 AM CST
5. Only response to my queries on this: unctuous auto-bot.
6. It is clear that I'm a victim of FRAUD. I appealed to PayPal. Their response.
>>"Thank you for reporting this case. After our review, we found that certain transactions weren't unauthorized and hence couldn't be covered by PayPal Purchase Protection."<<
7. Translation: The Trademark Engine charges are FRAUDulent, and thus not PayPal's issue.
8. A flurry of more emails, during which I got another charge: $199.00,12/7/23 6:09 AM CST
9. I've sent several emails requesting, initially polite, requesting refund, with the same auto-bot email.
10. When they reponded, Never to me, but to PayPal was the $199 is a fee for a so far invisible service. Unrefundable after 14 days. They RAN OUT THE CLOCK. Thus, I'm stuck with the invisible service charge of $199.
11. The last response, and only through PayPal, never directly was: a) I have to call them directly to complain about fraud on their part. I've tried 4 times, and got a busy signal.
Absolute FRAUD based on my understanding of the byzantine non-responses to me and PayPal.
They sent me through a rabbit hole and hurdle after hurdle to ultimately realize this simple trademark renewal was turning into a massive production because of their incompetent team which is made up of all outsourced Filipino call center reps that are completely USELESS. I placed an order for a trademark renewal and uploaded the required documents within minutes and it took them 33 days to get back to me - THIRTY THREE days. Due to their delay, conveniently the day day is when the timeline expired for me to not have to pay an additional fee to the government for being past the grace period. They dragged their asses, cost me more money, and an immense amount of stress and frustration yelling at call center reps that could not do anything. Hours on chat, the phone, and email ultimately to end up disputing the charge with my credit card company and having to file locally with a real attorney. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE and use a real attorney. Using Trademark Engine was such a mistake.
I filed for trademark of my logo for my building sign. They have continued to add charges and hold the filing. I have called multiple times and paid and they started charging me for a "monthly subscription" after the one-time logo charge. I stopped the monthly subscription which she said was not mandatory. They have still held my logo approval "hostage" and not send it to me. I am again on hold to demand they provide me with what I paid for while Gretchen checks with the manager as to why they have not sent me this. I started this process Feb 23,2023 and it is now Dec 13,2023. Find another company to get this done with.
Trademark Engine keeps sending me emails asking me to sign the same document over and over again. They then sent me an email stating that they received my signature and to ignore all emails about signing again. And that they will send me my filing receipt for my trademark I paid for. A month goes by and I get another email from them stating I need to sign again. When I informed them again I signed and provided them with their own email words stating they received my signature, they sent me a reply to sign again. It has been 3 months since I paid and they did not send me a filing receipt with the USPTO. I have asked for a refund or I will do a bank charge back. I should have used legalzoom.
I found out that I now apparently submitted a wrong form and have to restart the process, after $560 spent. These people are con artists. Just go straight to an attorney bc you will not save any money doing this on your own. Refusing to refund my money so now I am calling my credit card to report them.
This is an outright scam. I wish I had read the 1-star reviews before I engaged with this unethical company. Everything people are saying about hidden, unwanted, unauthorized charges is true. They hook you with an initial simple offer to acquire your Trademark for a set fee and then they "force" you into a loop of progressively piled on "required" charges as they guide you into their cattle chute of progressive payments. Once you're in the chute there appears to be no way out except to keep moving forward and to pay to go to the next stage (before the final financial butchering, which is the recurring annual payment). None of this is made clear in the initial offering. Their obfuscation is intentional. Do not use this fraudulent company. Next stop for me is the Better Business Bureau. As much as I dislike government regulations, companies like this need to have heavy-handed government oversight so they can't rip off trusting people who, in this case, are simply trying to secure a trademark following government requirements. That is the original promise of this company; unfortunately the promise is just the hook to herd you into the cattle chute before being financially cut to pieces with no apparent way out. Note to Trademark Engine: we are not cattle.
Answer: For my first Trademark, I was recommended to use Trademark Engine. That was a big mistake. The site doesn't do any extra work. YOU essentially are entering the EXACT fields that are required on the actual USPTO website and then they simply copy and paste all the fields on the USPTO website for you. I am NOT kidding - you can literally go and check both sites. You are paying $99 to Trademark Engine for just doing this. Oh and BTW, their nonsense about 'Researching to see if the TM is taken" is literally a 5 second job on the USPTO website. You just need to enter the Trademark term that you want in the search box (TEAS) and see if it has been taken. They make it sound like it is something massive. Besides this, they actually had the nerve to over-charge me. So they charged their fee and they charged me $275 to file with the USPTO (the USPTO filing fee). It was only later, when the USPTO sent me the email confirmation, did I realize that the actual cost was only $225 - so they happily charged me $50 extra. These people are scam artists and they refuse to talk to me about this or answer emails. I have filed a dispute now with my card (who told me that they will get the refund soon). Stay away from this company and file yourself.
Answer: They keep charging you for a subscription you do not sign up for.
Answer: My first dream business has turned into a nightmare. It feels like someone else is just making money off of whoever enters that hook without actually helping business owners who are looking to create a unique brand. The trademark registration process is misleading, and it seems like they are taking advantage of people. Many people don't understand how the process works and end up paying a lot without any guarantee of approval. I am one of the people who now need to cancel the whole position, and it is bitter business now.
Answer: No, i got scammed here. This whole operation is a scam.
