Horrible scam! I don't know how they get away with this! Luckily I froze my card before they could charge the $350 which I did not authorize.
Tried to contact this company re: a bill they sent for the service that's been cancelled months ago because our order wasn't process. We've been refunded that time (months ago) but lost $200+ for the cancellation (was told they could not refund it), now they're sending a bill of $1000+ for what? We've been on hold for 30 minutes and asked for call back but no answer. Several emails stating to call for cancellation. FYI this has been cancelled months ago, please review the file and communications. Please beware!
They refuse to cancel subscriptions. I had to contact my credit card company to have them block all charges to stop the recurring billing. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody and I'm posting my review at every review site because it also looks like they use questionable positive reviews on other websites to help bring their rating up.
Trademark Engine "checks boxes" charges exorbitant fees. Best to go through USPTO directly to fill out the forms. USPTO provides step by step instructions. I had them submit mine and it was rejected. When I contacted Trademark Engine fo assistance I was informed they didn't provide assistance after the initial filing and I would have to contact USPTO even though the error involved the form being filled out improperly!
Took the money and did not do the work won't respond or answer calls. They are running a scam. Avoid.
They automatically charged you for the add ons, even if you select no. It is also completely impossible to contact anyone in the company for a refund. They don't answer the phone or emails. Going on four days without hearing from them after contacting multiple times each day.
Do not use this company.
You'll get charged $200 for a "monitoring service" even if you opt out of it upon registration. And they won't refund or assist you at all.
I'm into the second hour of trying to cancel my subscription with them, I thought I'd done this previously but they don't process online cancellations and there were two parts - an annual and quarterly subscription - when the annual was cancelled they left the quarterly running and every time I get through to 'billing' the call drops and I have to start again. Avoid them.
I never write reviews for anything but please do not use this site! Trademark Engine is a a HUGE scam! I had to cancel my credit card to get them to stop charging me! Save yourself the hassle! Do! Not! Work! With them! They are thieves!
They tease you with the $49 filing fee only to upsell you. By the time you add up all the charges it comes to over $600 for what you can do yourself directly through the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for $350. The process is a little bit more tedious but worth doing yourself. Then TME slaps you with a $199/yr monitoring subscription I did not agree to! Called to cancel that and get a refund to be told had I called yesterday they could have processed the refund. That's total BS. Called my credit card company and put the charge in dispute. I get a cancellation email but no indication they are refunding the $. Stay away from these scammers and go directly to USPTO to file your patent or trademark.
I spent plenty so that this site would handle my trademark. I wind up with a zillion spam emails from all over the place, and after almost a year, learn that some government bureaucrat has nixed my application for all sorts of reasons. How helpful has trademarkengine been throughout this frustrating process? Not at all! I'm supposed to deal with a tangle of legalese myself -- What a waste of money!
Started the process to register a trademark for $50, was taken through a process that added a $199 subscription and some other $350 charge. I exited out of the registration. They still charged my card over $600 and provided no service. They refused to accept my cancelation via their own web form. I received an email saying I had to call to cancel. Called, put on hold for 10 minutes and disconnected.
This company is a scam. I paid for a one-time trademark and authorized them to charge me ONCE. They charged me $150 every two weeks for nearly a year until I caught it. My bank refunded most, but several were too old. They are a scam, don't fall for them.
This company is simply the worst. They are so unclear with their instructions, I don't know how they managed to make it onto 'best trademark application website' articles because they are one tiny step from a scam. I feel extremely cheated and wish I had just gotten a lawyer, or never filed to begin with.
First off, I filed my trademark in January, and suddenly realized on top of the hidden fees they had within the application process itself, they also had the large government fees which were NEVER even talked about in the application. Like people use your site because they don't know how to file themselves. Where is the transparency? Answer: there is none with them.
On top of that, during the application process there was an option to get a privacy plan. Now this part put me over the edge, but not until I realized what would happen if I didn't select the "right" privacy plan. They have one that hides your phone number and address. The other one hid different things, I can't remember how it was stated. I am not sure why I assumed that address meant your home address for the option I chose, but it NEVER specified email address. I assure you of that.
Well, my home address is now displayed for the world to see! You look up my trademark name, anyone can know exactly where I live! As a growing anonymous YouTuber, this is exactly what I wanted! Yay me!:/
So first thing I did was email Trademark Engine asking what was going on? They informed me my plan only covered my email and phone number. Then I was like I guess we can switch to the other plan then. We did, but guess what? I was charged TWICE when I realized absolutely NO changes were actually made. Legitimately, I was scammed out of $80 until I pointed out to them that nothing changed. And in fact, you have to file a completely separate form - for $49 through them - for any changes to be made. By the way, after I emailed this person back to just go ahead and buy the form, they ghosted me. (The email and chat system are awful if you were wondering. You only get anything done by calling.)
On top of that, in the actual application form (the one on USPTO's site), there is a place to put a domicile address and then a mailing address. The mailing one would be displayed if done correctly. However, Trademark Engine never had this option. And even though PO Boxes are not allowed as domicile addresses anymore, you can still put a PO Box as your mailing address - I've read the rules and discussed with a lawyer on YouTube. They are blatantly doing this to scam you out of more money. They make a large profit out of our ignorance. It's really sketchy and disheartening.
I'm furious and honestly disappointed in myself for falling for this trap. Anyone looking to file a trademark application: do NOT go with them! You will regret it big time.
They will activate a sucription after you buy a standard service and deny refund. This goes agains what is decribed on they guarantee section.
Uspto changed the rules in view of this, they could not register a trademark for me, they also did not return the money I do not recommend contacting them because they took the money and did not perform the service
This is a bait and charge scam.
I had to cancel my credit card to make the charges stop.
They suck you in with a decent price offer, but then without even asking you start charging your card for subscriptions and upgrades
As a professional for over 20 years I appreciate transparency... Trademark Engine is NOT transparent at all. And here is why:
--
They begin by advertising $49 dollars for the service without being fully transparent of additional charges. I signed up for it and paid $49 yesterday.
--
This morning I saw they tried to charge my card $350 which I imagined was from the state department but again, NOT transparent at all and I went online to see reviews and there it was, thousands of fake "good reviews" so I decided to call customer service
--
As soon as I call I say "I want to cancel" and without ANY hesitation, they cancelled - I get an email saying: "subscription of $99.00 USD monthly to Quarterly Trademark Infringement Monitoring is now Canceled." -- THIS IS FRAUD -- I NEVER signup for this in the first place, ever!
--
WHY is this company even active --> this is STEALING plain and simple.
--
I told the customer lady I want NOTHING to do with this company, ever! I asked for full refund.
--
STAY AWAY from this company!
STAY AWAY.
I hired Trademark Engine Jan 1st to file a basic brand registeration. Their Website clearly says it takes 5 days. No emails on status or progress was sent after 3 weeks. I had a chat with their Rep, and he said I should get application progressed in a few hours. I still did not receive any updates after 3 days. Spoke to customer service on phone and she can't committ to a day when the application will be processed, even though its been 3 weeks of delay already. One comment she made was that there is a huge backlog, but that is not my problem. They could do things like; stop receiving more applications than they are curently staffed to handle, hire more people or incentivice their staff to put in longer hours Or hire me to coach them. They need your money but fail to provide the service as advertised in their website and blaming customer application surge as reason for their ineptitude, seems not only awful but fraudulent. I wasted 3 weeks in vain, and ended up requesting a refund. I was compelled to write this to warn others to stay away from this company.
Answer: For my first Trademark, I was recommended to use Trademark Engine. That was a big mistake. The site doesn't do any extra work. YOU essentially are entering the EXACT fields that are required on the actual USPTO website and then they simply copy and paste all the fields on the USPTO website for you. I am NOT kidding - you can literally go and check both sites. You are paying $99 to Trademark Engine for just doing this. Oh and BTW, their nonsense about 'Researching to see if the TM is taken" is literally a 5 second job on the USPTO website. You just need to enter the Trademark term that you want in the search box (TEAS) and see if it has been taken. They make it sound like it is something massive. Besides this, they actually had the nerve to over-charge me. So they charged their fee and they charged me $275 to file with the USPTO (the USPTO filing fee). It was only later, when the USPTO sent me the email confirmation, did I realize that the actual cost was only $225 - so they happily charged me $50 extra. These people are scam artists and they refuse to talk to me about this or answer emails. I have filed a dispute now with my card (who told me that they will get the refund soon). Stay away from this company and file yourself.
Answer: They keep charging you for a subscription you do not sign up for.
Answer: My first dream business has turned into a nightmare. It feels like someone else is just making money off of whoever enters that hook without actually helping business owners who are looking to create a unique brand. The trademark registration process is misleading, and it seems like they are taking advantage of people. Many people don't understand how the process works and end up paying a lot without any guarantee of approval. I am one of the people who now need to cancel the whole position, and it is bitter business now.
Answer: No, i got scammed here. This whole operation is a scam.
