Don't Do Business with them!
April 8, 2021

Summit racing is a horrible company. Lack luster knowledge, incompetent at best with a complete lack of empathy to do the right thing when it's there fault. I could go on and on about various " cutomer service reps " and upper management just be warned they smile while taking your money and run when you make them aware of there incompetence. I wouldn't even give them a star if I didn't have to. Too many other companies out there to do business with to sit here and take it up the wazoo.

2 of 3 items were wrong/damaged.
April 1, 2021

I purchased 3 tool boxes. One shipped from Summit Racing and the other two shipped from manufacturer. With the one shipped from Summit the outer box with labels was in great shape. Upon opening item, it was damaged. Called and Andrea was super helpful and got the replacement item in mail the same day with upgraded shipping so I could receive it sooner because of the damage. The replacement item arrived before the original two from manufacturer. Upon the receipt of the two boxes from manufacturer, it was discovered that one of the two boxes was the wrong box entirely! Called again thinking it would be another easy exchange, WRONG! Chase said I had to give my credit card info again gut them to exchange it. I've already paid fir the merchandise, and THEY sent the wrong item and want to charge me again fir the item that I actually ordered and already paid for. Horrible customer service. Their "hassle free return guarantee" is empty words.

For the past five days, I have been trying to get ahold of these people for a simple question. At all hours of the day. Sit on hold FOREVER! I am starting to believe these guys just don't come into work. Moving on to the next company.

THEY LIE REPETITIVEY
March 11, 2021

I ordered a LOK-CM700AMP automatic shifter from their web site which stated that it would be shipped within 3 DAYS! A LIE, It's been going on 2 MONTHS & each time that I inquire about it all you get from them are MORE LIES! It's being mailed, LIE, they are waiting for the knob button, LIE, They sent it to the wrong address, LIE! They are waiting for a bracket, LIE! Now it's on BACK ORDER & I should see it in 2 WEEKS! All they want is YOUR MONEY & could CARE LESS IF YOU EVER GET YOUR ORDER! Bottom line is that they will TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET RID OF YOU! Do NOT USE THESE LIERS! They are WORTHLESS!

Not Stainless Steel as advertised.
February 3, 2021

On 1/29/21 I ordered two swivel exhaust hangers that were advertised as Stainless Steel. These hangers are commonly known as muffler hangers. We've all seen how the cheap muffler hangers corrode away in the undercarriage environment. So, I ordered the S. S. ones from Summit. When received, the straps looked to be of S. S. but the heavy duty rivets and washers looked to be of electroplated zinc on plain steel. A quick magnet test showed that the S. S. straps were a 300 series stainless but the rivets & washers were not. To discern whether they were steel or a 400 series stainless, a mild acid was used. The surface plating immediately bubbled and the cheap electroplated zinc was gone in an instant. RAW STEEL UNDERNEATH.

The goal was to prevent rust & corrosion, which ultimately causes the muffler bracket to break. After numerous calls to the company a customer service rep told me that the tech said I didn't know what I was talking about - there are many types of stainless and not all are magnetic. This is true. However, as a mechanical engineer for 4 decades with a good metallurgy background, believe me I know the difference between zinc plated and S. S. Summit probably had these made in China and the Chinese are known for screwing Americans every chance they get. Summit Racing is no better because they won't provide an ALL Stainless Steel part.

The worst online page to order your car parts. They send me the wrong Axle Shaft twice. Is unprofessional the way they ship the Axle with no box no bag or anything to protect the axle from getting damage. The UPS wouldn't take it like that I had to purchase a box with my own money! Don't order from here just save your time.

Happy customer
February 2, 2021

I purchased a blue print engine a year ago and recently had light blue smoke coming from my exhaust. I called and Ken was very helpful in everything. Turns out I had a fuel pump issue leaking oil into the gas and I didn`t need anything. Love the engine! Ed Mullen

I ordered a dash pad on May 10,2020. It had an original estimated ship date (ESD) of 6/?/20. When I looked into my order, It was given ESD of 7/20. It has gone that way every time I would call to inquire. Customer Service (CS) original response would be "I don't know". When I demanded that they call OER and find out status, they would always say that they talked to someone called "Ernesto, and no ESD, and yet their ad for the part (*******) would always show a future date. It currently shows May 10,2021. Some Customer Service employees would not give me their surname. I would request to speak to a Supervisor, and would later find out I was transferred to a team leader. Not a Spvr! I would have them tell me they would bump my issue up to management, and I would not get a return call. I would call the extension they gave me, and it would go to a generic voice mail. I even tried getting in touch with OER, and they never responded to my email. I've written to Scott Peterson, president of Summit Racing at email (*******@summitracing.com). Some guy named Carson responded with the same old "valuable customer, blah, blah, blah". The only good advice I got from these people was to order from another company, and complete sale with company that responds first. I ordered from another company on 12/17/20, and on 01/08/21, I completed the sale, and received my dash pad on 01/11/21. OER was the company that provided the product. I found out that this company received a total of 13 dash pads. To this date, Summit Racing has received none. I had to pay over $100.00 more, but it was well spent money, to not have to deal with those people anymore. I am 72 yrs old, a Vietnam combat veteran and had been a loyal customer for many many years My overall rating would be ZERO, but no button for that. Just happy that this ordeal is over, and Summit Racing has lost a good and loyal customer.

Ordered Fab Four front and rear fenders back in sept 2020. Recived the rear ones in December and by January still didn't have the front ones. The rear came unfinished was supposed to be Matt black. They were also rusted. Requested a refund for front ones that still had not arrived at 5 months late already. Once I got my refund I ordered from another company and had them within 4
Days. Summit racing sucks! They play covid card or they are out of stock. Well three other companies have them in stock so beware. Don't wait around for this company to send you rusted unfinished parts.

Summit Used To Be Great
January 17, 2021

This was a 5-star review. Then it became a 4-star review. Now it's 3. The trend is not good.

There are still many good things about Summit. Customer reviews of the products they sell are posted whether they're good or bad; reading them is often helpful. Summit is clear and accurate about which parts they have in stock. They show realistic manufacturer ship dates. They charge me correct sales tax. They get shipments out as fast or faster than any competitor. They are very good about giving shipping updates. They have always been good about returns. They still have some employees who "get it"; one is named Elaine. Elaine fixes messes made by other employees.

Now let's talk about the not-so-good things:
1) Their product recommendations are worse than useless. After multiple ridiculously-bad recommendations, I gave up completely.
2) Some of their employees should never be allowed within arm's reach of a phone. I'm still steaming over an episode where Summit made a mistake and sent me the wrong part, but the so-called "customer service" rep insisted that I had to pay for the replacement part. There was literally nothing I could say to change her mind. I got it resolved by asking to talk to someone else; I got Elaine, and she instantly agreed with me.
3) Too many times, I have submitted a product question and had it get rejected unreasonably. Recently I was trying to assemble a complete console for a 1980 Camaro. Summit sold such a console, but it had a note that said "some additional parts required for a complete console". So I asked what additional parts were required. My question got rejected because it "wasn't relevant". Huh?
4) Their CEO can't be bothered to reply to an email. I know he got it because it didn't bounce. The non-answer stands in stark contrast to a few other CEOs that I have emailed over the years. Every other time, it has led to a great conversation.
5) Sometimes product quality will disappoint you. I received a wheel today that had a bunch of very noticeable flaws in the paint. I can't believe they sent it to me looking like that.
6) Their so-called "Beat A Price Guarantee" is a joke. I called today to see if they would match Jeg's on the price of some coil springs. They wouldn't match it, let alone beat it. So what is the "guarantee" worth? Nothing.

My first order from Summit was in 1989. I've spent at least $20,000 there, perhaps twice that. My Order History page for just this year lists dozens of orders. I've been a loyal customer, but today, when they wouldn't even match Jeg's on price, I realized that the loyalty is one-way. And it's just about gone.

After I had an incorrect address on my account last year I changed it to my new address, placed an order for a gift card (I'm in Canada) and they cancel it leaving me with lost funds due to the exchange rate, this was about 50 bucks. The "person" Rudy in customer service has a name that fits because he's nothing but rude and not helpful at all. This year I place another order for a gift card as a "guest" instead of using my account because I assume this would work, and they decide to cancel my order AGAIN without informing me or even emailing me to say this was done, what the reason was, anything. So now I'm stuck with another loss of funds due to the exchange rate. Complete lack of customer service and no communication. NEVER AGAIN. Steer clear of this company.

Bad Customer service
December 23, 2020

I hope you know exactly what part you need because they don't care weather they help you or not to get the correct part, I was even told the parts wasn't available at all, I knew better so I went to Holley website and guess what? There its was. My point is why could'nt she do the same thing that just like I did, If she was really wanting to help me get the correct part, I"LL TELL YOU WHY! SHE DID"NT CARE! SO if you do their job for them then you will be fine. BOTTOM LINE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH BAD ATTITUDES. One more thing if you cancel an order because it was wrong(THEIR FAULT) it 5 to 7 business days before you get you money back I feel thats to long.
