I purchased a round-trip ticket from this agency but encountered a major issue during the return trip. The airline informed me that the agency had not paid for the return airfare. Despite my repeated attempts to contact the agency and request evidence of payment, I received no response. The agency kept insisting that they had made the payment, but failed to provide any supporting documentation. I specifically asked the agency to directly contact the airline to address the issue, but once again, no action was taken.
I entrusted this agency with our travel arrangements and paid for a service that clearly includes handling situations like this. However, the agency completely neglected its responsibility. This can only be described as fraud and false advertising. Consequently, we had no choice but to purchase a new ticket at our own expense. It is unacceptable that the agency refuses to refund the money I paid.
Don't ever buy from this agency...never ever. You will thank me.
My flight (United Airlines) was cancelled. United Airlines notified SmartFares but SmartFares never relayed the information to me, so I didn't know about the cancellation. Unacceptable customer service.

Never got an email for a ticket booked in Feb. Flying today and airline said ticket was never booked. Even with a confirmation code. They are crooks and criminals. Will sue them in small claims court
Purchased 6 round trip tickets from Chicago to Dallas. Got to Dallas and return flight was canceled by Frontier Airline. This was weekend of 4/14-4/16. Frontier authorized the refund for my return tickets and that refund was supposed to be issued by smartfares.com.
I have been calling for the past 3 weeks and every time they say that they will write an email to refund department to prioritize the process. Needless to say it is May 8th and I am still receive my refund. They are not trying to make this easy process. They are fast to take the money and do not want to issue the refund in a timely manner.
The 'flexible ticket' is a lie. DO NOT USE SMARTFARES. You don't just pay the difference in ticket price for the ticket change. We called to make a change to our flexible tickets and they had a 'fee they had to calculate' that ended up being more expensive then our original tickets by a factor of 1.5. We could literally buy brand new tickets directly from an airline for cheaper. DO NOT USE.
We purchased a flight from Frontier airlines through SmartFares. What a horrible experience. Frontier changed the departure time to an earlier hour, no one notified us, six passengers. When we were done with check in and went by the gate, we were told we missed the flight by a few minutes. No one ever called our names on the speakers. Even though they said they did. How six people could miss their names called! They did offer a flight the next day. But missed so much what we had planned for short vacation in Cancun. In addition, SmartFares just reached out with the airlines asking for the refund, but found out that only a credit could be issued for 90 days! No responsibility at all for a customer. Very very poor customer management.
Do not book through this agency. It is a complete scam. They promise very low fares and cancel reservations without notice then try to charge you triple. It is nearly impossible to get through to a supervisor. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Just check Trip Advisor and the BBB if you don't believe me
I booked a flight via smartfares online website a month back and got an email verifying the details I provided. However a month later I discovered (when I checked online) that there is no flight confirmation available. So i called customer support, and the first person says the flight reservation is not confirmed. I ask why and he replies that no seats are available. I said okay then why was I not informed before and why didnt i receive any email about it. He was quite rude and said he can cancel the reservation. I told him that there is no reservation to cancel, what are you going to cancel? He transfered me to someone else and the other person said something about billing details not getting confirmed. He further added that its upto me to follow up and confirm the reservation. This is pretty pathetic customer service and made a huge loss on my reservation since I have to make a new booking.
Confirmation came quick, easy to see. Just confused how to check in!

The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
