My first experience purchasing a ticket through SmartFares was on March 9th, for a journey from SAL-PTY-IST-MAD-MAD-IST-PTY-SAL. However, shortly after the purchase, I noticed I hadn't received a confirmation email. When I contacted them, the agent informed me that my reservation wasn't confirmed due to the first airline canceling the ticket (which later turned out to be untrue). They charged me an additional $390 to reissue the ticket, only to place me on the wrong flight a week later. Furthermore, when the airline made a schedule change for the flight SmartFares had assigned me, they refused to acknowledge the original flight I had purchased, which had no schedule changes. Despite the airline offering a free change, SmartFares insisted on charging me an extra $490, citing "fare rules," which I later discovered to be another fabrication. They were unwilling to assist further or contact the airline for authorization for the free change. My advice: steer clear of SmartFares.

Got a very cheap ticket from Smartfares, saved me more than 100 bucks compared to other websites. The confirmation came in within a few hours.

I have no idea how I ended up with this SmartFares app. It was easy to use but I felt uncomfortable as it was new. This method did not allow me to pick out a seat.

I think the site is great.They need to charge in rands and also include agent fee on total cost because on my side it shows r6900 and I ended up paying R7300 for a return ticket to Zimbabwe. I am not sure if it was the exchange rate or if it was the agent fee that led to the increase. Nonetheless, the process is seamless and they communicated on time
We booked a flight through Kayak to Alaska, who then booked us through SmartFares. I was a little confused but so far the experience has been very good. I had a question and contacted customer service at SmartFares and they were very helpful and patient as I tried to correct a mistake I made with travel date. Email confirmation and communication has been good too. Hopefully, the flight day experience will go without a hitch.

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
