They charged me wrongly ( as they usually do) for late return and when i provided a proof that i returned it on time they accepted making refund and sent me saying that REFUND ALREADY PROCESSED … after 10 business days, nothing reflected on my account. THEY CANNOT SEND ME A PROOF THAT REFUND IS DONE … ONE OF THE EMPLOYEE HANGED UP THE PHINE WHEN I ASKED ABOUT HER NAME …. THEY ALMOST ADMIT THEY ARE CHEATING!

After cancelling a week in advance for a rental January 10 in person at CVG, I was still charged full price ($158.80). After contacting Sixt several times to request a refund, they have still not rectified their error nor acknowledged their mistake.

STAY AWAY...FAR FAR AWAY. As hundreds of other reviews state, zero stars would be the better choice but not an option. My story sounds SO SIMILAR to others who have been shaken down over false claims of damage to the car. The first and what will be the only time I ever use SIXT they send me pictures of damage to the rental car that had not had any impact with anything ever while I was driving it--there is no way I would not have noticed it hitting something with the damage they alleged. There was no visible damage when I left it. They don't have employees around at 6am to look at the car with you at a airport location where flights start at 5am. I've been renting cars for 20 years and never had to leave one abandoned without reviewing for damages with an employee. I had no choice but to leave it unattended and just drop the keys in a box. No one to examine the car with you. I don't know what happened to it after I left but they do not take responsibility for having no one to review the car with you for damages. The "customer service" (using that term very loosely) rep on the phone tried to allege that the airport didn't allow them to open sooner than 6am. It's a freaking airport so of course people are returning cars by 6am. I mentioned every other rental agency had agents checking in cars when I arrived. I said "Are you telling me that the Seattle airport doesn't let Sixt open before 6am?" She then wouldn't answer that question I guess realizing how preposterous that was, and said I needed to contact the airport to ask them their policy for when they let this company open. Complete BS. She was unprofessional, talking over me, cutting me off. This place is unethical. I don't write reviews ever and I don't try to get out of things I am responsible for. Never again. Don't let their lower rates fool you...you get what you pay for in the end.
Giving a 1 star is giving them too much! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I prepaid for a car and then was charged again after being told that they would refund the first transaction and that it was a typical protocol. Despite my hesitation, I went along with it. I should have trusted my gut knowing that they were not going to refund the first transaction. I am continually being told that an investigation is under way and it takes 7-14 business days...UMMMMM It has been 5 months. I have sent receipts and all documentation with no action taken from them. Renter beware. If you want to get a good deal, DO NOT rent from Sixt.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I had a hit and run on a vehicle that I rented from them. It was parked in a parking lot, I was not present for the accident and the drivers that hit me left the scene. I had insurance, but it doesn't cover diminution and admin fees from Sixt. The repair was pretty much cosmetic, taking 16 hours of repair through an auto shop. They charged me over 4 days of diminution (vehicle not being rented) for 16 hours of work totaling over $400 and admin fees? Of over $120. Will not work with you at all. Terrible customer service, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! TRUST ME!
Terrible experience. I had to modify my dates. I let them know 1 week in advance. They told me they couldn't modify the existing reservation that I would have to cancel it and request a refund via email and to book a new reservation. Afterwards, I get a generic email that they won't process a refund for the original reservation at all.
We reserved a car with SIXT and then had to cancel, which we did several days in advance, and now they refuse to refund the $600.00 - DO NOT do business with them!
I rented two cars from Sixt through Expedia.com. I thought I reserved them for May but received an email in February saying it was time to pick out my cars. I have no evidence of how that happened. I tried to cancel the week-long rental. I was willing to pay a cancellation fee or just shift the reservations to May, but Sixt charged me for both cars for the entire week in February. They blamed Expedia even though Expedia had written them an email on my behalf. It's simply unethical. My guess is that Sixt rented the cars out for the week, so they were paid twice. BEWARE of both organizations.
I rented a car from this company took pictures when I left it. For the next year I got threatening emails and pictures showing huge gouges in the side of the car that they claimed I left. Horrible horrible company and I have the pictures to prove that the car was fine when I left it.
Worst car rental company in Australia. Our rented car broke down in Melbourne, they wanted us to catch a ride with the tow truck to get back into the city,
They did not replace it, and expected us to pay for the day,also, they accused us of putting the wrong petrol in the car and saying that was the reason the car broke down.
We had to ring BP and get a report saying we did put the right petrol.
AND we had to fight to get our money back for the day.
PLEASE PEOPLE CONSIDER NEVER TO USE THIS COMPANY
When I booked Sixt in Faro it was because they did full to full fuel. The contract actually said I would have to leave a deposit in case I returned the car empty, which was fine by me. They actually reserved 84.19 euros on my credit card for this purpose. I filled up the car on the run into the rental garage, I made a note of the mileage I had done and kept all the fuel receipts (as they had tried to charge me for fuel once before) 10 days after I got home I got a shock as they had charged me for the fuel and for damage to an alloy wheel that had already got a damage report when we picked the car up. As I booked the car through a 3rd party I am awaiting their report on the wheel. I have contacted Sixt to ask why they charged us for fuel when the car was full. They have replied saying that my agreements was for pre paid fuel and any fuel that is left in the tank is irrelevant and I will not receive any refund on the pre paid fuel. This in my book is fraud against my credit card. If you value your money do not use Sixt they are THIEVES.
Rented a car a year and a half ago. No issues. Now a year and a half later, a collection agency out of Boise starts calling, saying we owe $450 in damages. NOTHING was said at the time of check in, nor have we received ANY correspondence from SIXT regarding any damage. And of course, a year and a half later, I no longer have the pics of the car. Good strategy on their part, I guess. We did not damage the car. It was immaculate on pickup and drop off. In looking at comments on their social media pages, this seems to be the modus operandi. First and last time using SIXT.
The SIXT car agency displays an appalling lack or disregard for chain of custody procedures.
We noted a cracked grille on the rental car - My wife went back to the SIXT office upon seeing the damage of the vehicle upon initial pick up and was assured that this damage was registered as previous damage – I then went back to speak to the rental agent personally and was again assured that the damage was already logged and shown images in the SIXT system (I went behind the counter to see the actual photos for myself). SIXT then went ahead and still accused me of causing the damage, long after the car had been received back by an agent without any concern. AVOID

It was a blessing that getting a chance meeting you and chosen the car that you recommended, it really is a fantastic car, I should say the best car that I have ever driven in my entire life, so smooth and feeling so secure while driving. You guys are the best!
We had paid almost 1000$ online to hire a car from Sixt, we picked up the car from Orlando Airport.My husband clearly said he wanted no extras, the agreement was online on a computer which was 4 pages long…my husband had to sign on the screen. No bill was shown to him at anytime…We hire cars from Orlando airport twice a year so we know what we are doing. This company Sixt took almost another 1000$ from our credit card company when we got home in the UK.They are crooks, avoid Sixt. We have tried to get our money back for the insurance we did not ask for.We will never use them again…Beware of hidden charges
My flight was delayed about half an hour and Arrived at Tampa Florida international airport at 11:44 pm. Got to sixt car rental kiosk around 12:15 am and no body was there. Contacted sixt customer service and was told the place was closed (It's ridiculous for a car rental at the airport doesn't open 24/24) and not thing that they can help. So then I would like to cancel the rental but the customer service representative did not mention there's no refund if we cancel the reservation ( over $1600 prepaid reservation). Next day I got the email from sixt saying there is no refund because I canceled the reservation after scheduled pick up time. I was not the only one there on that night. Sixt business is a scam. Unpleasant vacation trip. Thinking about class action against Sixt
DO NOT RENT FROM SIXT. GO ELSEWHERE. We had a horrible experience with SIXT in Rome at DaVinci airport. We were not given a receipt for our rental, although we had asked repeatedly for one. We were told the printer was broken. I shared the rental agreement paperwork we had from Priceline and was told that was the price we were paying. Upon returning the car, we asked that they check the fuel, they did not. We asked that they do a visual inspection of the car. They would not. We asked for a receipt and once again were denied. Additionally, although we requested this as well, we had no online access to a receipt.When the credit card bill came in it was over $750USD more than the agreed upon price. I have been fighting this for months. Calls, paperwork and emails to Priceline, SIXT and the credit card company have only ended in frustration. The reason- we had no original receipt.How convenient of them not to give the customer a receipt. I am furious and disgusted by this companies practices.
We were a family of four adults traveling to Italy. We have travelled extensively and have never experienced such unscrupulous business practices in Europe
