Sephora's reputation is mixed, with customers praising the variety of products and the enticing in-store experience. However, significant dissatisfaction arises from frequent issues related to order fulfillment, shipping delays, and unresponsive customer service. Many international buyers report frustrations over lost items and inadequate support, while others express disappointment with the return policy and perceived lack of accountability. Overall, the feedback suggests a need for Sephora to enhance its customer service approach and shipping reliability to maintain loyalty and address growing competition in the beauty retail sector.

They very good at selecting wrong shades of beauty products and when it's returned between the 30days refund policy, they will rather give you a store credit rather than refund your money into your account.
Just to keep your damn money! Fraudulent he'll of a company. Don't know why they still operating!
Be careful they find every way to scam
You bad customer service and rude managers. I went to return an unopened item that was wrong shade given to me went to return it and lady said she is not returning it as it was past 60 days. I requested manager as I m long time customer and don't return items at all it was wrong shade given by an employee and I didn't notice until I was using it as I purchase more in sale and use it when needed. Bad customer service and they disregard customers
It took quite a while to find someone that could help me find a product. When she came, she didnt look happy
I purchased a lip liner pencil in April and it was defective. I was unable to return/exchange the pencil until today due to surgery and not feeling well. Because it's been over 3 months, they would not exchange the defective pencil. I asked to talk to management who would not rectify the problem even after explaining the mitigating circumstances. I called the corporate office, and after speaking to two managers and explaining my situation, they too told me they could do nothing because it was after the 60 days. I will never by a product from Sephora again, unfortunately the salespeople and management at Sephora don't care.
Ordered an expensive conditioner, which arrived damaged. Tried to contact customer service through 3 different routes and heard nothing back despite the repeated attempts to contact. It's almost like Sephora don't care once they have your money. But that's OK, I can hold a grudge for a very long time, so will be getting at least £22 of enjoyment out of leaving honest, bad reviews. Don't buy from Sephora, there really are better options out there.
I placed numerous orders with Sephora given that they promised same day or next day delivery. But Sephora uses fleetoptics as their carrier and that company is unreliable. They'll write failed delivery attempt when they didn't make any, write recipient not home, etc. They even once uploaded a picture of someone else's front door to prove they made a bogus attempt. I had to send photo and video of my front door in order to prove that their driver was malicious. Every time I speak to Sephora they make me understand that it's not their issue to contact the carrier. If you're lucky you'll get to chat with them after hours of waiting but over the phone nearly impossible. I informed Sephora and still nothing. I provided pictures, explained the situation and go in details. All to end up with a generic answer from Sephora. I can't even cancel the order. Sephora should hold the carrier responsible for their bad service. Also Sephora should provide its customer with assistance, not premade answer ready before you've even finished explaining the situation. I'll boycott Sephora until they give insurance about the service from their carrier.
Loyal Sephora client for 2 decades l, not allowed to return defective product 2 days past their 60 day exchange/return window. Very disappointed in their unwillingness to make things right. Buyer beware if you purchase something too far out you are SOL.
I will never deal with sephora online again they have the worse customer service they don't want to help or do anything
Ulta customer service is a million time better than sephora.
I like using Sephora, but recently I've had issues and have left poor reviews regarding the delivery company OnTrac they utilize to deliver thier products. Ive had products thrown at my driveway from van windows and discarded behind my garage and by the trash can by this particular delivery company. I would encourage them to find a different vendor.
I used my 2500 points I saved to buy a $100 gift card I sent my friend a $30 product and was scAnne's out of the rest. They would not give me my $70 credit because I didn't use it in one transaction!
Hello I would like to put my view on my day from this Saturday May 27th. Ok so my sister and I both have appointments for full face 1 hour make done. My sister goes first her appointment is at 3 15.they take her at 3 10.they tell me to wait. So 3 30 comes along and no one comes to get me 3 45 still nothing. Now I have a wedding and have to be at the reception hall for 5 30.4 o'clock comes and goes and still nothing. By this point I'm angry 4 15 still nothing now I'm mad but I'm keeping it all in because I don't want to cause a scene. At 4 25 the girl comes to see me telling me she is sorry. I was furious but didn't say anything as well. Now the girl tells me that the one before me had the 90 minute appointment...if her appointment was 90 minutes then she would of gone there at 2 and finished for 3 30 right.why was she taken at 3 and finished at 4 30 to go into my time. Like why take appointments if you can't follow through to serve your customers. If I wanted an appointment at 4 30 I would of made it then. Not only did the girl rush to put my makeup on and I didn't take the whole 1 hour which was really unfair because I paid for it she took 35 minutes and that is truly not fair at all. The store closed while we were in it and we had to go all around the mall to get to the car. And the worst is I got to the reception hall at 6. She did a nice job on my makeup but it sucks that she could of done a better job with my whole hour and not rush. I was really disappointed with the whole wait time. Maybe in the future when you book your appointments you should honor them. I don't know yet if I would come back even though the girl tried her best. If I or anyone books a time then respect it and if someone is late then to bad and that is what you should be doing and then maybe I can decide to come back. Because having 1 hour session and paying for it and getting 30 minutes that is not fair!
Did you know that Sephora has a customer service policy that they can only help you once? After that, any problem you have with your order, it's on you. Sephora lost one of my packages (easily verifiable, given that my building has secure lockers with codes that send notifications to both the receiver and the delivery service), so they re-sent my order. Months later I ordered something else, and came completely broken due to poor packaging. I contacted customer service to see if they could send a replacement, showing them the pictures of the broken item the same day of delivery. They literally responded that "they couldn't help me because they had helped me before". Note the fact that replacing a package that was not delivered by the company they hire is a *favor* to me... unbelievable. After that, chaos. I placed a hold in my bank due to the fact they wouldn't replace or refund the item, Sephora LOST the dispute with my bank and they proceeded to place my account "under review" without telling me, so I couldn't place any online orders. I only found out about this six months later, when placing an order that never arrived (I received a confirmation email and everything). Sephora never told me anything about this, or how to solve it. I had to consistently talk to their customer service, where they told me multiple times they would escalate this and someone would contact me within 24hrs, but nothing happened. Overall, terrible customer service experience, and it's just not worth it. Their customer representatives are incredibly rude and unhelpful, and I won't be shopping here again.
My girlfriend's birthday is in a few days and I decided to buy her a present at Sephora. You know, I wanted it to be something special. Eventually, I got her a bottle of some expensive perfumes from Chanel. I ordered it online because there ain't any shop nearby - I was a little worried if the glass won't break. But everything was nicely packed. Well done, Sephora!
Giving 4 stars because I was hoping for some freebies. The purchase was not cheap and there was nothing added to my package...
I placed an order using a gift card. One of the items I ordered never shipped. Instead of correcting the issue they increased the price of one of the items I bought on sale back to full price and called it good. Arguing with customer service is a waste of time. She refused to acknowledge the item still showing on my order on their own site and did math to prove she was right. Of course everything adds up when you remove sales from the order. Never again.
Sephora is a ridiculous place to shop. They are always under stocked and their employees don't have a clue. Seriously, go directly to the manufacturer website and you will get a better deal. Or go to Ulta. A much better and knowledgeable place.
Everything is good until you have to return a product. It takes forever and a lot of the customer service representatives are clueless. Once they can't help you they will end the chat. I think I will stick with Ulta.
I had an amazing service at Sephora in Coquitlam mall I would like to say a big thank you to Ivy. She is absolutely amazing. She help me and guiding me with my skin tone and imperfection her knowledge was outstanding and she is really a gem. I am so grateful that I got knowledge and guidance to what is best for my skin. I tip my hat to her so if you're looking for fantastic advice, go see her Ivy I never had such a fantastic service she went over and beyond to my request. Great job.
I purchased the Coconut Sun from The 7 Virtues and it is the absolute best smelling fragrance ever! It lasts all day long with minimal amount, and it literally smells like the beach so up-lifting! My entire family has gone to purchase a bottle. Not only is it the best fragrance out there, but the company themselves as a whole has such strong values. Thank you The 7 Virtues!
I would highly recommend Sephora online ONLY IF you'd like to experience the most screwed up and frustrating online shopping experience, like frequent app crashes at check out... AND experience how orders are repeatedly delayed or undelivered or lost/damaged during transit (and don't expect any apologies or offer to resend items to you)... AND you want to experience the WORST service ever. It appears both Sephora SG and Sephora US "customer service" are trained to give similar stock replies that are arrogant and dismissive. Be prepared to be totally inconvenienced and have your time wasted trying to rationalize or speak sense with them.
I've always had such good experiences with Sephora and just wanted to take a minute to leave a good review. We always remember to leave bad reviews when companies don't meet our expectations, but sometimes it's hard to remember to praise the ones that are doing their jobs well.
Sephora's customer service has always stood out to me as super helpful. I do spend a ton of money here because I know I can trust them as a company. (When they send you the wrong product or a faulty product the rare time, they happily rectify it, and do so quickly so the customer can get on with their day. As a busy person, I appreciate this so much).
I also love that they give points, samples, and birthday gifts. The odd time my free samples don't arrive with my package, and when I message them about it, they'll give me points.
Lastly, their website is super user-friendly, and their payment process is seamless!
Thanks for being awesome, Sephora.
Answer: There are a ton of great moisturizing and anti-aging products out there to help you. Sephora has so many that your head will spin, but there are also a lot of drugstore alternatives that are rated just as highly (or better) than a lot of higher-end ones. I would do some research online before ever stepping foot into a store like Sephora (trust me - they will bombard you with very expensive things you don't need). Honestly, I really like Ulta as a store better than Sephora because they carry both drugstore, middle-end, and higher-end products. (MUCH better service, too) But before you go anywhere, Google things like "best anti-aging products for mature skin" or things like that. Using multiple products, such as a glycolic toner, a serum, as well as a moisturizer is a good idea. One thing that is FANTASTIC for wrinkles and dark spots is Retin-A, but you have to get a prescription for it and it is harsh on your skin (especially if you're sensitive). It literally kills off your top layer of skin (which leads to a very annoying period of your face peeling for a few weeks), but once you get over the growing pains, your skin is amazing. I was diagnosed with melasma, which is hyperpigmentation of the skin, on my face, so my doctor gave me Retin-A and hydroquinone, which really works at fading dark spots. If you can't afford the Retin-A (mine is over $200 a tube), there are a lot of great OTC products that contain retinol and work well, just not like the Rx version. Neutrogena has a great line of products for dark spots and wrinkles. But like I said, do your research and don't let sales reps push you into really expensive products, because they get a commission, and you may get stuck with a bad product and an empty wallet. Hope this helps!
Answer: This is Sephora's list of current promo codes. They should always be valid - whether you get them to actually give you what they're supposed to is always a gamble. To get a birthday promo, you have to join their Beauty Insiders club. It's free - just go to their website.
Answer: Yes. I have to take Care of my skin in every routine when my acne appears
Answer: Yes! They have a VERY liberal return policy. You can try most products in store, as well. But, if you do buy something that you don't agree with, for any reason, don't worry. They exchange easily. I always use Sephora.com... never have had a problem returning for any reason whatsoever.
