Sephora's reputation is mixed, with customers praising the variety of products and the enticing in-store experience. However, significant dissatisfaction arises from frequent issues related to order fulfillment, shipping delays, and unresponsive customer service. Many international buyers report frustrations over lost items and inadequate support, while others express disappointment with the return policy and perceived lack of accountability. Overall, the feedback suggests a need for Sephora to enhance its customer service approach and shipping reliability to maintain loyalty and address growing competition in the beauty retail sector.

I've ordered 3 times from them and they keep saying it was delivered when it in fact wasn't. They refused to provide a refund. BEWARE!
I had a unpleasant experience at Sephora in the store that is on Serramonte 153 D in San Francisco, a young girl with curly hair attended me and from the beginning she had a terrible attitude with me, she completely ignored me and even went to talk to her co-workers work and left me alone, it is the last time I will go to that place from now on I will buy online. I always went to that place but I will not do it anymore, it is not possible that those types of people are working in customer service and giving a bad service.
I'd shop here if they gave two $#*!s about their customers! My account has been having unknown issues, it cancels my order after 20 minutes, it has 20 times in a row now. It was supposed to be fixed multiple times now but still isn't. I finally gave up and went to the manufacture website for the items I was out of. It's a $500 but that must not be enough for them to care because first it was supposed to be fixed within 24-48 hours and it's going on 92, I've contacted more people and it still isn't fixed. I thought maybe spending close to tens of thousands of dollars with them annually, might help but I was obviously wrong and I'm over it... until they contact my and make it right, I'm not ordered online there again!
Been a loyal client of Sephora since 2007. Bought the wrong foundation product in March by mistake, which looks identical since it is same brand, same packaging at $60 a pop. I always like to have at least one on hand. Also purchased the accurate one this summer. I must have pulled from my shelf the one recently purchased rather than the one from March. I now need to get a new one from my shelf and realized that it is the wrong one; same company but different texture all together which i cannot use. Tried to just make an even exchange but THEIR POLICY does not allow this since i purchased it more than 60 days ago. Spoke with different supervisors and although they can see that i ALWAYS used the other one, still can't do anything about it. What a shame to lose a 15-year client over this... it is probably just as good for me because their products seem to always be more expensive than other stores. Bye bye Sephora…
Sephora is my favorite site/store for makeup, hair and all things beauty. Sign up for there loyalty rewards because it's sooo worth it. You get to choose your birthday gift each year and through our the year with the points from your purchases you get more gifts. And another bonus you get two free samples with every purchase and they have the best shipping possible. FREE! And something I have to mention that I am so happy and thankful for I recently ordered from Sephora and I thought that my package was stolen, come to find out they make sure that my package went back to fedex when I wasn't home to receive my package. So it wouldn't get stolen and I was very appreciative about that. They also have the option where you can have it shipped to a local store mine would be Walgreens and pick it up there. (It's not free, but at least you know your getting your package)
Sephora has an online community where you can ask questions to beauty expert's and people just like you, with your skin tone or hair or concerns.
Their site has the option to favorite items so you don't have to search and search again for items you want. Speaking about there products, survey thing I like about Sephora is their clean sustainable brands that make sure they go that extra mile to keep the planet green.
Oh and I forgot to mention, there samples aren't $#*!ty. I've discovered soooo many top of the line skincare items with there samples. And if you're in the mood for sampling things Sephora has these little pockets called Sephora favorites that come with five or six of the best selling items for like 8 or $10 that way you can see which ones you like and they give a 15% off coupon for full size items.
I love Sephora and if you're looking for perfume, hair care, makeup, or anything beauty stop by Sephora first.
I highly recommend.
... they don't care about their customers. I was sent the wrong order and the guy on the phone seemed not to believe me & said that they will be doing an investigation only after saying it wasn't possible (wrong order). Since they messed up so many times, I went from a Rouge to not buying at all. A company which does not appreciate the customers does not need business.
I am 66 years old and had eye surgery for my vision and for the first time in my life wanted advice on eye makeup. I don't need glasses anymore. I was told that it cost $30 for a consult. Very sad. Why are you charging for beauty advice………. You lost a customer today and I was ready to purchase product.
I made a purchase and the shipment was going to take a few days. But it took much longer. I had to move and asked customer service for help to see if there was a way to change the shipping address and nothing. This is the day I can't get my refund or my purchase.
I had delivery issues and sent a message via the companies contact us site. Got nothing.
Tried the live chat and still no help just templated email links on articles sent to me and advised there is no complaints team, no grievance policy or procedure and no way of escalating concerns. Just keep getting told my concern would be passed to an internal team.
What international company does not have a complaints department, policy, or procedure!
The products might be good, but the customer service is appalling.
A BUSINESS IS BUILT ON CUSTOMER SERVICE
Result - have now lost $370 worth of product.
While visiting the store in Ala Moana I was constantly bombarded by workers and felt i was being nagged on by them. I simply just wanted to shop by myself in peace, yet everywhere I turtles or walked a worker was asking me if i needed help looking or needed a bag. In fact two workers asked me multiple times. Once is good enough and there is nothing wrong with peacefully shopping. My shopping experience was anything but peaceful or fun because the workers were constantly nagging me. This experience makes me never want to enter into any sephora location again.
Very unhappy with the way they run Tennessee branches. They have a mentally unstable employee thats been stalking harassing&bullying me to the point she made videos threatening me on the store floor. I let them know i did Think it was appropriate for an employee to be on the clock making money while they are stocking my account and making threats towards me and that those videos should be pulled down. They did come down however i let them know the legal measures im having to take for my safty and they gave that info to her. She only got a few days off(prob paid) slap on the wrist and she recently started putting the vids back up. I let them know and rather then fix it they told her and gave her my info which puts me more at risk. They just care about having sales mules, but dont care about the criminals they employee or their customers. Ive used their products for years. Now me, and my friends&family aware of the situation are boycotting them and wont give them another dime. I sure as hell won't give them money to then turn around and pay an employee to threaten my life while on their floor in their uniform under their sign
I ordered a gift card from them, they took my money out of my account and did not send the card! I think they are scammers!
An absolutely horrible company with poor business ethics. Sent the wrong item to me ( its value is only half of the price I paid for). Kept delaying the pickup of the item and sending different agents to deal with the case (Adrian, Jannela, Kristine and Thyela). The agents would try to deliver 'empty promises' such as 'we are going to consult the internal team'. Don't be fooled because it is only a strategy to appease the customer and nothing will be done. So, every conversation with their customer service team is just a waste of time, with no practical solution to the problem. They would also promise a reply within 24-48 hours. They did reply but again, there would be no solution and they would ask for another 24-48 hours again. Till now, the matter has not been resolved. The wrong item is still with me and Sephora still owes me money.
A fun fact - One of the agents could not even get my email right. That is the worst joke of the day.
In the first email dated 5 February, Sephora promised that the collection will occur within 3 - 5 business days.
Today is the 16th of February, there hasn't been any update on the date and time of the pickup. The customer service team also has a tendency to keep asking for 24-48 hours for them to deliver the promise. It's only a strategy to keep delaying.
My mum bought the advertised midnight serum and says it's very god. The effect is noticeable and she is happy about that.
Terrible service, I signed up for auto pay and then come to find I have about a $200 balance on a $34 purchase.
While this website has been absolutely vicious when it comes to ravaging my bank account, I absolutely love shopping here. They have a fantastic selection of mid to premium cosmetics and skincare, and their customer service and return policies are top notch.
This store has the best products, fast shipping and free shipping over 35! They have great return system too. And they have Klarna/zip ect so you can split the payments.
I've never buy in sephora.com before, I don't know why I waited so long. Nice website, real friendly. All My productos are fine, I Just bought skincare products and some brushes.
I received a $150 gift card for Christmas. I used $31 on Sephora Mobile app then went in store to redeem the remaining balance $119. They said that the funds were already used. I told them that was impossible showed them what I had order online that was delivered to my address. Customer service said that I must have been hacked online and there wasn't anything they could do about it. I asked for the name and address of the person who supposedly hacked my card and they said they aren't allowed to give out that information. So you are telling me my loved one is out of $119 because your system is faulty. Either give me the name and address of where the merchandise was delivered or refund my money right? Seriously, you let your customers get robbed by using your app. Then claim to not be responsible. Then say it's like cash. No it's not like cash because nobody is going come take cash out of my pocket without a fight. This is a scam Sephora is running I will never shop here again. Highly disappointed with this company.

While I do love some of the brands that are available on Sephora's website and little freebies, I hate having to deal with their customer service. I placed an order during festival period and my transaction sat pending in my account for almost a week. I had only received one e-mail letting me know they'd received my order. When I called a week later, I was told due to the holidays that it was going to take longer than usual to push my order through. I was told I couldn't pick my order up from the store and that I could not cancel my request either. I would have easily just canceled it and went to the store to purchase everything instead. The CSR I spoke to was dry and flatly said there was nothing that could be done about my order. Sephora's customer service sucks.
Answer: There are a ton of great moisturizing and anti-aging products out there to help you. Sephora has so many that your head will spin, but there are also a lot of drugstore alternatives that are rated just as highly (or better) than a lot of higher-end ones. I would do some research online before ever stepping foot into a store like Sephora (trust me - they will bombard you with very expensive things you don't need). Honestly, I really like Ulta as a store better than Sephora because they carry both drugstore, middle-end, and higher-end products. (MUCH better service, too) But before you go anywhere, Google things like "best anti-aging products for mature skin" or things like that. Using multiple products, such as a glycolic toner, a serum, as well as a moisturizer is a good idea. One thing that is FANTASTIC for wrinkles and dark spots is Retin-A, but you have to get a prescription for it and it is harsh on your skin (especially if you're sensitive). It literally kills off your top layer of skin (which leads to a very annoying period of your face peeling for a few weeks), but once you get over the growing pains, your skin is amazing. I was diagnosed with melasma, which is hyperpigmentation of the skin, on my face, so my doctor gave me Retin-A and hydroquinone, which really works at fading dark spots. If you can't afford the Retin-A (mine is over $200 a tube), there are a lot of great OTC products that contain retinol and work well, just not like the Rx version. Neutrogena has a great line of products for dark spots and wrinkles. But like I said, do your research and don't let sales reps push you into really expensive products, because they get a commission, and you may get stuck with a bad product and an empty wallet. Hope this helps!
Answer: This is Sephora's list of current promo codes. They should always be valid - whether you get them to actually give you what they're supposed to is always a gamble. To get a birthday promo, you have to join their Beauty Insiders club. It's free - just go to their website.
Answer: Yes. I have to take Care of my skin in every routine when my acne appears
Answer: Yes! They have a VERY liberal return policy. You can try most products in store, as well. But, if you do buy something that you don't agree with, for any reason, don't worry. They exchange easily. I always use Sephora.com... never have had a problem returning for any reason whatsoever.
