Amazon Seller Central Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among sellers, primarily due to inadequate customer support and a frustrating user experience. Common concerns include long response times, unresolved issues, and a lack of tailored assistance, leading many to consider leaving the platform. While some sellers acknowledge the potential for sales, the overwhelming sentiment is one of frustration with the outdated interface and poor communication. This feedback suggests a pressing need for improvements in support training and system functionality to enhance seller satisfaction and retention.

Nurnouse times I have been sent to a customers house to complete an IT related task and every single time something went wrong. The customer had the wrong part, part didn't solve the issue for the customer, customer didn't even have the part needed... etc.

When you call Amazon, they send you to an order specialist based out of Costa Rica. My last job for them was an hour drive there and an hour back, customer ordered the wrong part. The order speciastist said I will not be paid for the job and that the loss of time was not his problem. He just keep repeating, not my problem over and over as I tried to explain the situation.

I will never do work for them again.

Want to grow a business on Amazon? DON'T.

It started for me and my small business about 7-8 years ago, i felt proud to sell on Amazon and the income it gave me was enough to push the business forward.

A small to modest wage with sales booming at Christmas.

For the past 1-2 years it is just stressful.
Why? Well because of the lack of seller support.
Your account can be inactive for weeks... months just by changing a contact email address because they need to 'verify' it... which is sensible, but they need to get more staff in support to process it all quickly.

Customers get their own thieving way.
Support even with simple issues will cause you hassle.

I hate it but for now i need to stick with it.
Can't wait to quit it one day.

I always knew Amazon Seller Central has a very poor policy but experiencing by far the worst service at the moment. They are verifying my Seller account for last 6 months. I full appreciate verification and feel is necessary but it can't take six months. They keep asking for same documents again and again. Those people sitting in the verification team are so slow and lazy. I feel there should be an independent body supervising them. POOR, POORER, POOREST, VERY VERY POOR. I wish I have more words to describe how bad they are

Amazon Seller Central has less commissions than ebay but Oh boy if things go wrong. I sold an expensive camera lens on Amazon and the buyer wanted to return it stating issues. The lens was like new. I would have been happy to get the lens back in the condition I sold it. Instead, Amazon refunds the buyer before I even received the lens. What company would have such a horrible system in place. They will always side with the buyer. Stick to Ebay and take the hit. Much more organized and you can specify return policy.

Amazon will only ever side with a buyer, it so open to abuse by buyers there is no chance of being able to sell and make a living.

There customer support is non existent.

I have been reading about the people that have had there accounts closed and Amazon keeping the money, some are in the tens of thousands of pounds.

I have had so many people abuse the A-Z claim I'm going back to selling on another auction site I thought was bad until I started selling on Amazon!

Don't risk the time you need to invest in Amazon, they WILL screw you over!

*******@amazon.com this is the email of the President of Amazon. Please email this man and let him know how you feel about the unethical rules and practices that Amazon is using. Email this individual and let him know you will be joining a group to put Amazon out of business if they do not change their policies. The sellers performance team is is a shady group within Amazon that dictates the rules of Amazon. They are like the GESTAPO the secret police of the germans during the Holocaust. Please contact me at *******019 for more information on how Amazon treats their sellers like Trash. Tell Amazon you live and die by the consumer if you do not change your business practices you can go to Hell and sink like many other companies that were like you have done.

Extremely disappointed with this company! Not only does Amazon have one of the worst customer service teams they do not make their Amazon Seller first. A customer purchasing directly from your seller store is higher of a priority then your actual Seller account. I have had my funds held from my account for the past two months due to technical difficulties on Amazon's end who refuses to correct the matter and would rather my store wait for the next pay period to see disbursements of the amount instead of the full amount because they can not seem to fix the issue. I have been told for two months that tickets and claims have been opened to address the issues and emails directly to me to prove that but, on Amazon's end no such claims/tickets have been opened by their Merchant Seller Customer Support team. You will have to follow a chain of command in order to have any issues addressed (issues are never addressed) but will never be able to speak with any supervisor or anyone above them. Their customer service only follows protocol which is... they will fill out a petition for your claim, wait for confirmation, then a super visor will contact you which is actually just seller support and no one higher then that. Amazon is a great company to make large amounts of funds quick through but good luck receiving your funds when promised. It is now to the point that i am closing my account with them for another marketplace but am forced to keep it open because if i close the account my funds will be held for another 90 days. I would not recommend Amazon.

Actual Trash
June 16, 2017

I tried to open an individual seller's account but accidentally created a professional account. I could not access my account for reasons I still don't know, but was charged $40 anyway. I called seller support 3 times to try and close my account and get a refund but that was much more difficult than it sounds. The first call I was on the phone for 30 minutes (on hold for 20) and literally nothing came of it. I closed the account myself. The woman on the second call said she requested my refund but 2 days later I still had not received my money back. I called a third time and was told since I had closed my account already, I would not be receiving my money back for 3 months. I was just trying to sell my old textbooks for extra cash but ended up being cheated out of the money I already had.

First time setting up in seller central, I received a couple of verifications emails from Amazon, which they all were inconsistent, I replied to all of them and realized, one of the email sender was a spam email.- *******@amazon.com. I reported this email via seller central and they only said, "thank you, we will review that account", however, they continued sending emails and saying that my account was going to be closed in 24 hrs if I din't send the personal documents via fax. Really? I didn't send anything as I was in contact with Amazon via seller central, and two ays later, my account has a problem, I can't login even after changing the password twice, and it's marking error. I am trying to contact support and of course, it's not easy, no phone numbers nor email to contact them. However, they already charged my card with the "vendor" monthly fee. Never expected this from such a reputable company like Amazon.

Amazon is ripe for disruption. There are hundreds of thousands unhappy sellers that would gladly begin selling on a new, fair, buyer friendly, platform. My experiences with Amazon Seller Support have been consistently horrendous.

- They don't understand english (spoken and especially written)
- They secretly laugh at "the american fools" on the other line (overheard chatter while I was supposed to be on hold).
- They have no interest in actually helping. It's just a job that involves shoveling BS and copying and pasting poorly written canned email responses.
- Lacks any true intelligence. Mindless behavior, with no authority to help at all.
- They never really read an email. 99% of the time, the responses are unintelligible, riddled with poor english, and never actually answer the question.

No phone number. On line reps who clearly do not speak English. I have been asking them the same question for 6 months now. I still have no answer. We shipped 5 items, didn't get paid. They deduct and deduct and deduct until you get nothing. There "help" system is a total disaster. Don't go there.

My experience has been similar to the other reviews written. First of all, if a customer has any complaint about your product, Amazon will pull your money out of your account and give them a full refund. Ebay is much better as they at least consider both sides and try to make a fair decision. Second, the seller support is useless. I received negative feedback and it lowered my score to under 90%! Hardly anyone posts feedback on Amazon, so when you received one bad review, it impacts your rating. Here is the thing about this feedback: the seller was furious because I had shipped their product using signature confirmation. Well, I actually didn't know this was happening. As it turned out, there was a glitch in Amazon's shipping settings and it was automatically defaulting to this. I never used signature confirmation. I pay for shipping and at $5, I won't make much of a profit! Amazon will not remove this feedback. They keep saying that the seller did not recieve the item by the expect date. Well geniuses, as I KEEP SAYING, that is because of the signature confirmation which was a known error at Amazon! I actually had to wait a couple of days to ship my orders until the problem was fixed (it wasn't possible to ship without the signature confirmation). The feedback does not accurately reflect how I conduct business, but Amazon doesn't care. You would think they would care a little more since they take 15% of my business. I wish more people would buy off of ebay. You can find the same products there for lower prices. I wish this review would negatively impact Amazon they way that the review I received has impacted me. However, it still feels good to write this.

Amazon is actively discouraging their sellers from requesting that negative reviews be taken off their seller profile. They have created four criteria which they rigidly apply via robot-like seller support people (I'm sure you have even encountered them in buyer customer support), who have no ability or freedom to make independent analytical judgments. One buyer I recently encountered was clearly mentally ill, kept complaining she didn't get the book, then said she did but it was the wrong one. She wouldn't clarify anything but just kept replying with three sentence quips like "Haven't got it. Send it" or "This isn't the book I ordered."until I almost went nuts myself and gave it over to Amazon. They paid her off and absolved me any further responsibility. Then she put on my feedback page that she did not get a refund and gave me a 1 rating. I asked Amazon to take it off because Amazon did give her a refund, and I was no longer responsible for her as a customer at that point. No response from Amazon about this specific issue. Every time I reopened the case I got a new "analysis" that was more idiotic and irrelevant than the previous one. Then I realized that all Amazon was doing was hastily and without any thought and analysis of the individual case, rubber stamping a decision using the four critieria for removing a negative review. Moreover, the Amazon responses were often constructed with grammatical incorrect sentences, and showed each of the "support" people may have spent two seconds on my case. When I finally asked to speak with a supervisor, I got no response. There are "no supervisors," nor, am I beginning to think, human beings working for Amazon. Amazon should go the full way as a monopoly and have robots do everything from customer and seller service to packaging because it can't be any worse than asking humans to act like robots. I encourage responsible buyers and those who want to sell books to seek other outlets. Amazon is not only dehumanizing but unhuman.

Amazon in DOMINATING the retail world. They "hook" customers through their PRIME membership and then elbow out their competition on their own site by offering free shipping through PRIME on most of the products that are offered through Amazon's shelves. This gives the independent sellers on Amazon HEADACHES. I went through three months of jumping through hoops to be able to sell my dresses on Amazon. Once they were ALL finally listed it took a LONG time with their SLOW SLOW population of my goods before they started to sell. NOW I HAVE MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT THEY WON'T PAY ME. That is because they have no problem at all accepting my MasterCard for payment of ANYTHING they want to sell me but they will not put my profits on the card OR in my bank account. They way that they want me to open a new bank account and get a VISA to be paid. It is the MOST ridiculous way to keep my money that I have EVER heard of! Additionally, they sell their used books for so cheap on Amazon that the customers expect new books to sell cheap too. So, you don't make much money. I am a published author and have two books on Amazon that are not doing well because they only do well when I offer a FREE promotion. Amazon does VERY little to help their SELLERS and too much to spoil their buyers. What they don't understand is that their biggest buyers are their sellers but not for much longer. People are getting wise to Amazon.
