The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among sellers, primarily due to inadequate customer support and a frustrating user experience. Common concerns include long response times, unresolved issues, and a lack of tailored assistance, leading many to consider leaving the platform. I have a bricks-and-mortar store and have been selling on Amazon for several years now. Their fees are higher than I would like and by the time we sell an item on Amazon it usually has dropped in price by 50% due to competition. They have never failed to pay me and they have been supportive when deviant customers have tried to steal from me.

I have a business acquaintance who has been providing a beauty product via her wholesale business to several vendors who sell on Amazon for the last several years. I spent the time and money to private label the same product for myself to sell through fulfillment by Amazon. I have been shelling out $40 a month for the last six months and repeatedly submitting the paperwork they require to get ungated in the category it is required to be in. Inexplicably, every single time I am denied ability to sell, regardless of the fact I have provided exactly what they have asked for each time. Any inquiries as to how to remedy the situation or what is amiss go completely ignored, and the same automated form is sent again and again. This complete lack of customer service, combined with the lie that you will be able to easily sell on Amazon for this monthly fee, when there seems to be no possible way to sell with ease or in large quantity, even with their required forms sent to them, amounts to nothing but pure fraud to me. I truly hope a class-action lawsuit comes out of this. I am not alone with this particular issue, as I have read several other people having this exact problem in the past year. They are not providing the services they claim to offer, and they are outright stealing my money every month for zero customer service, and incredibly limited ability to sell primarily only if you are able to ship units yourself, and you can't utilize Amazon Prime, as their ads describe. If you are considering jumping into this boat with Amazon, I highly suggest rethinking it.

I tried to call Amazon Seller central when I had trouble getting a listing to appear (first time I had trouble - after successfully listing 14 previous items). The first thing you will notice is that they do not have a contact phone. They will ask you to contact them by email - or to go to their website to look for solutions to common problems (even if your problem is not related).
So, I went to the suggested site and opened a 'trouble ticket'. 2 days later, I got a response that said my product trouble had been reviewed and everything should be fine when the server has time to process the fix (requested I wait another 24 hours) and then they told me they had closed the trouble ticket as the problem was fixed. 24 hours alter I discovered that the problem had not been fixed and because the previous trouble ticket had been closed, I had to open another ticket. This exact same process happened four times - a week and a half went by - and the problem did not get fixed.
Finally almost two weeks later I got the catalog department on the phone and the guy fixed the problem instantly (well, within 5 minute time period).
So I had one week of my listing being on Amazon, I gave them a horrible review and a week later, my seller account was suspended - but no one can tell me why. I did not sell any product, so I could not have had any performance issues or complaints - but no one at Amazon can tell me why it was suspended. They keep telling me that I should just send any requested info - Bar Code, EIN Tax ID ect. But since my product is home-made. It does not have a "Bar-Code", "EIN Tax ID etc., so... they suggested I email them and open a "trouble ticket"

As a private Amazon seller, I had a buyer say they didn't receive my order. Per tracking information provided to the buyer and Amazon, it proved the order was delivered to the buyer by USPS. Amazon ruled in favor of the buyer regardless of the USPS tracking record proving delivery. As a result, I've lost my item shipped, the shipping costs and the cost to get it to the post office the day after the order was placed. Amazon said I had no way of proving the order was delivered! USPS tracking information isn't proof of delivery? I was a long time Amazon seller with perfect five star ratings and Amazon chose to support the buyer and negate thousands of dollars in commissions they made off of me in the past. I will no longer sell on Amazon as their tracking information is totally useless for sellers, as Amazon will not honor the USPS tracking information proving delivery. Amazon also has no way to prevent fraudulent sellers from listing on Amazon and selling products they don't carry in stock, scamming buyers into purchasing items they will never receive. These fraudulent sellers interfered with my legitimate items I was selling, driving potential sales to fraudulent sellers. I've reported these instances to the Amazon seller performance email site, but they (fraudulent sellers) keep popping back under different seller names. Amazon Seller Central is in total disarray in trying to address these issues. Sellers, be aware if you sell something on Amazon, as all a buyer has to do is place a claim against you after the delivery window has passed and you will lose everything no matter your providing proof of delivery!

I was listing an item and the System allowed me. A few days later they send me a email that I wasn't approved to list the item and they closed my account. Remember they are not here to help you make money

The Seller Central site itself offers virtually no explanations of why things happen.
1) you keep not getting paid over and over again
2) it is not explained on the reports you generate
3) if you call in to get support you end up teaching the help desk what their site looks like
It is really just a lesson in futility.

For one their fees are horrendous! It's $39 a month just to sell, then that doesn't include the high fees they charge for selling an item. The market is so saturated that it's hard for a new brand to get started. I had them send me my inventory back so I could start selling on Etsy and they damaged 170 units and I'm in the process of trying to get reimbursed but they are very difficult to work with and could really care less about your business. They are reckless with the inventory you send in, they throw it around and don't care if it gets damaged. Seller central back door is a s*it show too! It's so complicated, they have so many "rules" that change often and you never know when your account could be suspended for any one of their violations. I'm so happy I will not be giving Amazon a dime more!

I will never again list anything for sale on Amazon. I sold an item, shipped it to the buyer the day it sold and he was satisfied with his purchase. So, I paid for shipping, broke my neck to go out in the freezing cold weather to ship it out right away, and almost a month later, I have never received payment from Amazon. I added my bank account info as instructed but they continually send me emails that they do not have my banking information. I have gone back into Seller Central and edited it 4 times and I have still not been paid. I only have one bank account and one routing and checking number - yet they continue to say they do not have my information. It has been extremely stressful as Amazon have no "Real" people that you can speak to in order to resolve an issue. It's frustrating, to say the least.

I have been selling on Suckazon for about 5 years now... Just keeps getting more expensive and worse.
They hold your money for upto 20 days before you get paid. They suck!
I sell something on eBay and I am paid immediately. But both of those companies are on the buyers side totally.
I wanted to have products on Amazon for the exposure. I am only putting the minimum items on there now because the hold my money too long.
DON'T BOTHER WITH THESE CLOWNS! LAME!

This is the WORST company on the internet! I erroneously signed up for their $39.99 Seller program, realized my mistake and requested a cancellation the SAME DAY. A customer rep (sounded Indian) called me, told me how to cancel it, and that he would put in a request for a refund that same night. No problem - right? WRONG! He failed to tell me they would HOLD my funds for 14 days! After a week of no refund, I contacted support online and another Indian talking rep called me back. I asked him why my refund hadn't been processed and he proceeded to tell me the "Amazon policy" over and over and over again! I swear he sounded like a robot! No feeling, no apology, no help and definitely NO SUPPORT! I asked to speak to someone else and he just kept blabbering on with the Amazon policy crap! Finally I just told him to email me what I needed to do to cancel anything and everything I had to do with Amazon. Said he would send me "instructions" but not to cancel til my account had been refunded in another week. As SOON as that happens, I'm definitely going to cancel and pray to God I NEVER see or hear from Amazon again! If you want to sell online, I suggest getting your OWN website and marketing it yourself. You will get to keep ALL your profits and control your business yourself!

If you run in to issues with a sale, you'll find that Amazon offers you no help or assistance whatsoever. You can open a support ticket if you'd like but be ready to received canned responses and believe it or not, they'll provide a contact number to their call center in India which is not accessible via landlines. Even amazon.com support personnel can not look up seller central helpline numbers! Amazon should be held accountable for their mistakes!

Amazon has an area of seller central where they solicit customers to add assembly to the products they purchase. The service providers assemble the products and because they trust the customer credit card will go through for the service, when the card decline, we have to wait an extremely long time to get paid for the order. Amazon should front the funds to the service providers and fight their own customers for reimbursement. Not every customer is honest. Then they suspend your account and withhold your funds due to a negative review, without reading the review to prove otherwise. We have 4.5 stars and above ratings with all of our clients and now we are forced to review the same company that expects so much of their service providers and they have a 1.5 star rating. That is bad business.

I read the Amazon seller policies and thought that I would receive a payment on the 8th of September. (I sold my first book on the 17th of August) Well when the 8th rolled around and I didn't receive payment, I called to sort things out. Well I was informed that I was wrong and that I would receive payment on the fourteenth. That's fine, I was in the wrong. Well the fourteenth rolled around and still no payment. So I called on the fourteenth and the lady reassured me that I would have my money pending in my bank account by the end of the day. The end of the day came and there were zero pending deposits in my bank account. So I give them yet another call, well after being on the phone for 45 minutes I was told that I would have to wait an additional 14 days! Absolutely ridiculous. I was told several times that it was policy to wait and while that my be so, I was told TWICE, by two different people that I would have my money on the fourteenth. If I go to a store and an two different employees tell me the price of a T. V is $12 and then when I check out and the T. V is $50 then the company has the responsibility to lower the price. Same concept. I am completely disappointed in this business.

Don't sell on Amazon.com
September 11, 2016

I have sold books and games on Amazon for about 8 years. I have always had excellent feedback from my customers. One day with no explanation they removed my shipping privileges and said I can only sell if I send all of my inventory (over 3000 products) into amazon for them to ship. I was not able at the time to appeal this removal as they had not suspended my account in the proper way. They have kept me on hold for the last month while they did their review and now say they have removed my shipping because of bad feedback ( again my feedback is all good) and other things that have nothing to do with shipping. Amazon does not value their sellers. I would not recommend selling on their site.

Confusing!
August 13, 2016

I am just a beginner with Amazon. I've been working for weeks now trying to get our complete range up on the site and I feel like giving up! If find their website so awful to navigate. Each time I submit my file it comes back with totally different errors than the previous! I try to get a straight answer as to what's wrong but half the time I can't understand. It's possibly my ineptitude but talk about frustrating... I have had some great help from a couple of people in their Singapore office though. It's through luck I've got their phone number really. Otherwise I'd be stranded. Anyway onward and upward... I shall not be defeated!

Tried to do the right thing by changing some details on my seller account. I have been trading with Amazon for 3 years and paid them over £******* in fees. Wanted to change my company name from Limited to sole trader and so far my account has been suspended for 3 months! Then they tell me I cant really change the name, better to close the account and open a new one! So I lose my credability - feedback scores and everything I have worked for. My advice to anyone, if you get an account, dont try to change anything. The seller verification team are worse than useless!

You really need to watch these people if you sell on amazon. I approved a return, never got the item back, they refunded the buyer anyways, So if you want free stuff all you have to do is request a return and then file an a to z claim, that's it, FREE STUFF ll You will only know about it after looking in your email and see an email stating that they approved a claim and refunded the buyer and basically told them to just keep the items, all this while you are waiting for a return you approved. Then they'll say it was your fault because you did not reply to an email they sent me. Not a text, no notice of message in message center (as i guess you need to manually go into your messages to see if they sent you a top secret message) I emailed them via contact us weeks ago and opened a case but week later nothing, not even top secret message. Buyer never printed return label, maybe that's how you scam amazon, as it doesn't seem that difficult. Now going on a couple of month, let me guess what will happen! Nothing!
