I ordered Roman shades and they are big rolls, I thought it would be more flat. They don't look like the traditional Roman shades. I thought it needed time to relax and work its self out to be more flat but it's been over a month and they still look fluffy.

Great with one glitch

I have SelectBlinds Roman shades in 13 windows. Of those, I could not get the features I actually wanted on 4 of those shades. I picked the fabric and then randomly, it seems, blackout lining wasn't available or my preferred method of raising the blind wasn't given. Very frustrating in the ordering process. I suggest more uniformity. These are great shades even without wanted features! Ordering process, maddening!

To whom it may concern:

These days its almost impossible to find attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly assistance when buying virtually anything, so my spouse and I usually end up having to do everything on our own. Needless to say, it was an INCREDIBLY refreshing experience to work with AJ on our purchase: AJ, you knocked this one out of the park!

AJ answered every single one of my questions in detail and with sound reasoning, and further suggested very helpful (and important) considerations that I did not realize on my own. Disappointed

Blinds seem to be getting cheaper in quality; the customer service is frustrating; the company policies regarding motorization technologies are terrible. Switched them without letting ongoing customers know, so we have a hybrid of both, and two sets of remotes and hubs to do motorized blinds. And the new technology does not seem as good as the old. Some blinds respond only half of the time despite fully charged. Unreliable. And you cannot easily determine the status of orders correctly.

Whole house blinds

Purchased blinds for the whole house. Light filtering, blackout with sheer top, and top-down bottom-up. Blinds were great for the cost. The sheer blinds on the top part of the blackout blinds could be better.

Blinds do not assemble well

The blinds do not assemble well at all, if at all. Additionally; I had laser exact measurements and the blinds still did not fit properly. When reaching out to customer support for additional instruction of how to assemble thinking I'm missing something, I was sent a video that didn't show or provide actual instructions as to the assembly. I also spent almost an hour for their customer service to figure out how to compress the video to email it.

Roll shades review

I have ordered from select blinds a few times and have been happy. Unfortunately this time I am disappointed in my products. I ordered 7 roll up shades and installed 3 of them and they do not roll up properly and won't roll up all the way. I have sent an email to customer care and still have not heard back from them after 2 weeks.

We ordered several of the cellular top down bottom up shades and are very pleased with the ease of installation, quality, function, material, color, the help received on the phone when I called to better understand some of the options, etc. and they shipped quickly.

We have purchased over $6000 in shades from SelectBlinds, many of them motorized. Each time we order, there appears to be a new "Hub" that is purchased to integrate your home automation. We now have the NEO Smart Hub, Bond Smart Hub and the most recent SelectBlinds Automation Hub.

Not one of these Hubs are integrated and not only does the most recent SelectBlinds Automation Hub not work with our newest motorized shade, it is not even backward compatible with our other 11 motorized shades. The Bond hub never worked. Even the technicians at Bond, can not understand why these things don't connect.

When we attempted to return the SelectBlinds Automation Hub, I was told by Customer Service and by Management, that because I did not speak with one of their Consultants when I purchased the latest Shade and Hub, that I can not return it, even though it will not connect to the shade it came with.

We will not purchase from SelectBlinds in the future. They have lost a long term customer over their technology bait and switch. Very disappointing.

Disappointing quality

The woven shades were not the quality I've come to expect from select blinds. The fabric was thin and very cheap and uneven. One of the rings wasn't attached so I had to sew it down myself. I don't expect them to last long. Installation was very easy.

My son is thrilled to have true blackout curtains as our neighbors generally leave their deck lights on all night. He has been getting better sleep since we've installed them.
The installation was a bit challenging. There were parts taped that the instructions didn't reference- we weren't sure if the tape and plastic was supposed to stay or be removed.
The side panels were challenging to get in with the right fit if the window frame- tips and tricks to how to install them would be helpful.
We did the installation on. Sunday while you were closed but your AI support online was helpful. It couldn't walk us exactly through how to resolve the issue. We eventually succeeded but several times thought we were going to break something in the process.

I've ordered many window treatments from Select Blinds in the past, but, this order was my first of Roman Shades. I ordered 3 fabric relaxed Roman Shades in Laura Ashley fabric and they do not lie flat on upper portion above the folds. They came with a string tightly tied in center that gave it a swag appearance, which looks outdated to me. I wanted a "smile" appearance more so. It would help if SB included a photo of the entire blind when ordering so the customer knows the final look they will receive. The fabric looks cheap and puckers. Just not pleased with the look and I'm thinking of replacing them which is irritating considering I spent over 1k for 3 shades.

I have used select blinds for my entire house for many years specifically due to the options available for motorized options. I've generally appreciated the customer service availability and weekend hours.

Recently I needed to replace 1/3 motorized shades that stopped working. I've had them for years and it was outside of warranty so understandability I needed to purchase a new one. I called back to purchase the remaining 2 blinds (exact same). Once they arrived I discovered the 2 new ones use new technology and are not compatible to the same remote/app. This is obviously an issue/inconvenience to not have everything work together.

For the price you pay for motorized blinds you would think the customer service on issues like this would be better resolved then having the customer eat the cost of purchasing yet another blind.

After going through all of this I will be switching over to a company that offers better customer service options during times like this. Specifically, in a similar scenario where I have LEVOLOR blinds where they discontinued my color they remade my blinds in the new color with a much simpler and stress free process at no additional cost.

Be careful with measuring

After spending over $1000 on five window shades, I realized I had mismeasured on one when I went to put it up. I called customer service to see if there was anything they could do, and was told I couldn't even get a discount (aside from the "special" they were running for all customers). While I realize this was my bad, I felt like they could have offered an additional discount as a gesture of goodwill. Other sites offer a fit guarantee without checking some hidden box, so I would shop around. I ended up finding a better price with a fit guarantee elsewhere and will not be a return customer here.
