The biggest problem ive seen with getting parts from rock auto is the time it takes to get your order. Ive ordered 3 different times in the last 7 months an it has took a week and a half or longer to receive all 3 shipments.

Placed an order and paid an additional $66 for express shipping. The order did not arrive and DHL had no estimated delivery date. 2 Days after the expected date I contacted rockauto customer service (good luck finding their contact info) and requested a refund of my express shipping charges. The response was that they do not guarantee the delivery dates they promise when you place your order and that there is no refund. So after paying additional $66 the order arrived on the date regular ground shipping would have brought it. In the meantime I had to go to my local parts store and purchase the items I needed. Company is a sham.

Damaged

I ordered a bumper from rockauto and it came damaged. It wasnt damaged in transit, they sent me someones damaged return with the damaged invoice inside. Due to the size of the box it was left out side for FedEx to pick it up. They never took it for what ever reason and the box got rained on. Now the box is ruined so i contacted rockauto and told them my issue and the replied thats between you and fedex. If they sent me a bumper that wasnt returned and damaged i would of never had this issue! Very disappointed...

What a load of crap, Rock Auto charged me $3.86 to return a defective window switch,

Great customer service with a horrible approach as I can't email or call someone so if I want my $130.00 back I only get $126.14.

. Cheap poor quality Chinese made parts. They get you by till you can do better. Then placed a couple hundred dollar order I soon discovered they charged me for multiple times and ripped me off making it right. Sent boxes of parts back and thus far barely have been returned enough money to pay return. Shipping... Use at your own risk. Good luck

I ordered part and paid $9.99 extra for the fast delivery. Product didn't come on time. Tried to get hold of someone but there is no one to talk. At this point, not only I missed the weekend to fix my car I also lost $9.99 extra for the fast shipping charge but again, there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE to talk. I couldn't even find the chat service. How could they treat the customers this way?

I order from Rockauto from time to time but shipping can be too much. Yesterday I put 8 items in my cart, pretty standard stuff like oil filters, total was almost $60 and shipping was almost $30. Shipping close to 50% is too much.

I wouldn't buy the junk again they like RIPPING people off I bought parts from them they didn't fit my car tried to return them offer to pay shipping and pay different on the right parts and pay ship back to me and they pretty much told me to go f myself

Problem free parts

I've ordered a few parts now from Rockauto and I've had nothing but success. The parts are great, delivery is super fast, but I did have a problem with a bad window regulator and Rockauto sent me another pronto. I would highly recommend Rockauto for their great selection, fast delivery, quality part and great customer service.

I ordered before form rock auto and understand issue occur, but I ordered and PAID for the left and right lower control arms (Moog brand) and received what looks like ONE Moog lower control arm as advertised. The other was not wrapped up like the NEW ONE, had the accessory bag cut opened and the boots metal seal is missing. Is stamped versus a bolted in ball joint, and appears to be missing the metal seal to hold ball joint grease in?!
After going through their "return" process found that they tried to play it off as "not all parts are the same but may come from the same manufacturer. BS! The accessory bag, like I stated was cut open, putting grease in it will result in the grease basically flowing out, and yes... I'm dealing with it and using the damn thing because I'm not about to go through a worse situation at this point (returning their part, waiting for refund, OR getting sent another inferior part. I'll figure out and find a metal seal and then NEVER order from this corporation/business again.

Bottom line. Part doesn't even have the same bolt style ball joint set up. It's pressed in, missing the metal seal to hold grease in, wasn't sealed up like the other "true Moog part" they did send for the right side, and the bag was cut open like someone installed something. It wasn't wrapped up and bubble taped like the known good one, AND the box had a hole in it and they put a piece of cardboard in the box to keep the ball joint from poking through?!

I paid for three day shipping still waiting on day 5 and thats after they sent wrong part and no customer service?!?! Well we see how much they care about their customers they do what they want and don't care do yourself a favor and go somewhere else last time I order from these A-holes

Where's my stuff?

May 27th I ordered a brake caliper from Rockauto because they advertised the fastest shipping time and I can't drive my car until the caliper comes in. I paid extra to have it shipped through DHL so that it would arrive no later than June 1st. I received an email from them on May 29th stating that the caliper had shipped with tracking information stating that it would now arrive no later than June 3rd (even though I paid extra to have it here June 1st). I tried to contact Rockauto by phone on June 1st but you can't call them apparently, you can only send a request. The tracking was finally updated June 3rd and it turns out that the item didn't even leave the warehouse until June 2nd (the day after it was originally supposed to be here and four days after they told me it shipped). The item is now "on hold" in Ohio for some reason and I live in Virginia. Not sure when it will arrive now. It doesn't do much good if they have lower prices but the item takes way longer than advertised to get to you. Doubtful I will use them again if there is any sense of urgency. EDIT: The item arrived on June 5th, four days after they said it would. I changed my review to three stars because the part was as advertised and the core return process was easy with just a reasonable shipping fee. They need to work on their shipping or at least be honest with the shipping date.

I purchased a somewhat upgraded steering gear for my 1985 Jeep. From what I read they would reimburse me about $130 for the core. Spent over $50 to ship back my old part in the same box as required. A week after notifying me that they received the core they email me to say that they won't take it because it is not the exact same unit model that I purchased. No where in anything I read beforehand was it mentioned that it had to be. So no refund, no offer of store credit, nothing. And they want me to pay them $45 to send it back. Needless to say I won't be spending another dollar with Rock Auto again.

I thought i would just cut and paste this previous review by Seth G. Since it is the exact experience I'm having. It's funny how you can replace every single part, vacuum the whole system ensuring it is super clean and dry, but it's still not good enough to prove the compressor is bad. I guess the auto parts shops don't know what there doing.

I Ordered a AC COMPRESSOR, THE PRICE WAS AS MUCH AS ANY RETAIL AUTO PARTS DEALER, AND THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE, WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN IT, THEY MAKE ALL SORTS OF DEMANDS WHICH ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO SATISFY THEN THEY REFUSE TO REFUND..

I'm from Canada but I pick up my orders at a US box to save shipping cost & possibly broker fees some shipping companies charge. Thought I was getting a good deal on my catalytic converter and muffler... boy was I wrong!

1. They have NO phone lines to speak to a live rep. First strike.
2. Both my products were stated to be stainless steel. I will include a photo of my muffler after only two years and tell me that's stainless steel. The pipe rusted clean off!
3. Products are required to be shipped back at your expense. It will cost more to ship the muffler back then the cost of the muffler.
4. Catalytic converter body stainless but the connecting pipes aluminized. Be upfront about the product specs.
5. I contacted the manufacturer first and they told me that muffler has NO warranty! Rock Autos website says lifetime warranty. Still waiting to find out which is correct?

2 years later and BOTH the the cat & muffler need to be replaced and have to pay for another install.

Wish I would have checked this site before placing my order.
